Jaxon's POV

The partial shift burned through my veins like liquid fire. My wolf was clawing at my insides, demanding I tear my uncle apart for even looking at Maya. Every instinct screamed at me to claim her, mark her, make it clear to everyone that she belonged to me.

"Back off, Ronan," I snarled, my voice deeper than usual. "I'm not playing games."

My uncle didn't even flinch. He stood there calm as death, like he was discussing the weather instead of facing down a partially shifted werewolf. It only made my rage burn hotter.

"Neither am I," he said smoothly. "The mate bond isn't a game, Jaxon. It's sacred law."

"Sacred law?" I laughed, but it came out as more of a growl. "You want to talk about sacred? She's my stepsister. She's under my protection."

"Protection?" Ronan raised one perfect eyebrow. "Is that what you call the way you've been treating her? Calling her a gold digger? Threatening to kick her out of the pack?"

My chest tightened. He was right, and I hated that he

I grabbed my gear and ran toward the sound, my wolf pushing strength into my legs. When I reached the quad, I saw exactly what I'd feared. Maya was standing by the fountain with her books clutched to her chest, facing two people I'd hoped never to see again. Prince Ashen Whitmore looked exactly the same, tall, blonde, and handsome in that arrogant way that made me want to punch his face. Next to him stood Lyra Brooks, Maya's former best friend, smirking like she was enjoying Maya's discomfort. "What are you two doing here?" Maya asked, her voice steady despite the fear I could smell rolling off her. "Transfer students," Lyra said with fake sweetness. "Daddy thought it would be good for me to expand my horizons. And Ashen decided to come along for... moral support." "More like I wanted to see how you were doing after our last conversation," Ashen said, stepping closer to Maya. "You disappeared so suddenly. I was worried." "Stay away from me," Maya warned, backing toward the founta

Jaxon's POV Maya's words echoed in my head for three days straight. *"I choose both of you. But if you can't accept sharing my love, then I choose neither."* I'd barely slept, barely eaten. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her kissing Ronan, then turning to kiss me with just as much passion. The memory made my wolf pace restlessly under my skin, torn between jealousy and desire. "You look like hell," my teammate Marcus said as we walked across campus after hockey practice. "Still thinking about that girl?" "Drop it," I muttered, adjusting my gear bag on my shoulder. But I couldn't drop it. Maya was everywhere - in my thoughts, in my dreams, even in the way the wind carried her scent across the quad. The mate bond was driving me crazy, especially now that I'd admitted it out loud. My phone buzzed with a text from my father: ‘Call me immediately. Important family business.’ I groaned. Alpha Damien Cross never contacted me unless something was wrong or he needed something from m

Maya's POV "It means you're incredibly powerful," Jaxon said. "White Lunas were blessed by the Moon Goddess herself. They were healers, protectors, and leaders of our people." "Where?" "They were hunted to extinction," Ronan explained. "Other wolves feared their power. The last White Luna died three centuries ago, and everyone thought the bloodline was gone forever." I felt like the room was spinning. "So what you're telling me is that I'm some kind of magical unicorn that people want to kill or use for their own purposes?" "Pretty much," Jaxon said grimly. "Great," I muttered. "And the mate bond thing? How does that work with both of you?" The two men looked at each other again, having some kind of silent conversation. "White Lunas are... different," Ronan said carefully. "They can have multiple mates. It's not common, but it's not unheard of either." "So you're both my mates?" "Yes," they said at the same time. I laughed, but there was no humor in it. "This is insane. Thr

Maya's POV I woke up feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Every muscle in my body ached, and my head was pounding. The events in the chapel came flooding back Kael, the ritual, and Ronan using that terrifying dark magic. Sunlight streamed through my dorm window, telling me it was already afternoon. Quinn was sitting at her desk, looking worried. "Thank God you're awake," she said, rushing to my bedside. "How do you feel?" "Like death warmed over," I groaned, sitting up slowly. "How long was I out?" "Almost twelve hours. Jaxon and Ronan have been taking turns checking on you." She hesitated. "Maya, what really happened last night? They said you were attacked, but there's more to it, isn't there?" I looked at my sweet, normal human roommate and wished I could tell her the truth. "It's complicated, Quinn. I promise I'll explain everything when I can." She nodded, though I could see she wasn't happy about being left in the dark. "Well, Jaxon is outside. He's been pacing the hallwa

Ronan's POV I turned and nearly lost my concentration. Maya's eyes were open, silver-blue and terrified. She was staring at me like I was a monster. Because that's what I was becoming. The shadows around Kael tightened, and he screamed again. I should stop. I should pull back the magic before it went too far. But it felt so good. So right. "Please," Maya whispered, her voice barely audible. "Don't become like him." Her words hit me like a physical blow. I looked at my hands, wreathed in dark energy, and saw my father. Saw the madness that had consumed him in his final days. Saw the monster I was becoming. With tremendous effort, I pulled back the shadows. Kael collapsed, unconscious but alive. The dark magic retreated, leaving me gasping and shaking. "It's done," I said, stumbling toward Maya. "You're safe." But as I cut her bonds with shaking hands, I could feel the darkness still moving under my skin. Still whispering. The corruption in Maya's wound began to fade as Kael's m

Ronan's POV The ancient chapel loomed before us like a monument to death itself. Every instinct I possessed screamed at me to turn back, but Maya was in there. My mate. The woman I'd waited fifteen years to find was trapped inside with a madman who wanted to use her as a sacrifice. "Ready?" Jaxon whispered beside me, his jaw tight with determination. I nodded, pushing down the bitter irony of fighting alongside my nephew to save the woman we both loved. "We go in fast and hard. No hesitation." "Agreed." His green eyes flashed with his wolf's fury. "Whatever happens in there, we protect her first." We burst through the chapel doors together, our wolves howling for blood. The sight that greeted us made my heart stop. Maya was tied to a stone pillar in the center of the room, unconscious and pale as death. The corruption mark on her shoulder had spread, black veins now covering half her torso like poisonous vines. "You're too late," Kael Bloodmane snarled from the shadows. "The rit
