Everything Maya had experienced during her breakdown, the visions of being a White Luna, the talk of supernatural factions, it hadn't been stress-induced hallucinations. It was real, and there were people documenting it, studying her, planning to take her. And Marcus Blackwood wasn't trying to protect her. He was trying to deliver her to these people.

I photographed everything, my mind racing. Maya needed to see this. She needed to know what she was really up against.

I was sliding the last folder back into place when I heard it, footsteps in the hallway, coming toward the office.

Shit. I closed the filing cabinet as quietly as possible, replaced the key on its hook, and looked frantically for somewhere to hide. The desk was too obvious. The closet might be checked.
