Chapter 2: Invisible to Visible (Part 1)

A few days have passed, but we still haven’t found a solution to my condition. I was just walking around the forest until I saw a gigantic tree. It amazed me, so I quickly went there to see it closer.

“Wow! This tree is so huge!” I uttered in amazement and touched the tree, but my hand just slipped through. My eyes widened, and I was about to take my hand, but there was a force pulling me forward. I tried to use my power to escape, but it wasn’t effective until it swallowed me. I closed my eyes as the light blinded me.

When I fluttered my eyes open, I couldn’t help but gasp in amazement at what I saw. I am here on top of a mountain and I can see up here the entire town below. There are many colored houses and on the other side of the mountain, there is a huge purple medieval castle.

Another gasp let out of my mouth when suddenly the sunlight hit my skin. I could feel the heat, which I didn’t feel before because it used to just penetrate.

“What happened? Where am I?” I feel anxious. How did I get into this place? Oh yeah, I remember it is because of the tree! That tree seemed mysterious. 

I roamed my eyes around the place where I was standing. The town I saw below is still far away. I need to go there and ask what this place is. Because I know I am no longer in the Moondrous World. The air in this place is strange too.

I walked into the forest and all I could hear was the sound of crickets. I was halfway through the forest when I heard a crackle coming in my direction, so I prepared myself. Who knows what this creature could do? 

A tiger stopped dead on its track upon seeing me. We made eye contact. Why did he stop?

‘You are a princess.’

My forehead creased and my eyebrows furrowed as I heard someone speak. To my surprise, the tiger knelt in front of me.

‘Nice to meet you, princess.’

Is the tiger speaking?

‘Yes, princess. What is your name?’

“Woah! You are the one talking to me!” I said enthusiastically. “I’m Luna! What’s your name?”

‘I do not have a name. Whatever you call me, princess. ‘

Hmm, what should I name him? “Aha! From now on, your name is... Regit!” I said happily.

‘Thank you, princess.’

The tiger suddenly lit up and became a baby tiger. It’s so cute! I took him and carried him in my arms. We continued our journey to the exit of this forest. Regit fell asleep in my arms.

A smile plastered on my lips while looking at my entire body. I still can’t believe I’m no longer invisible. I already have a body! Oh, silly me! I had a body, but only invisible before. You’re stupid, Luna! I chuckled at my own words. 

Soon, I was out of the woods, and a town welcomed me. I have seen many people and they look at me weirdly. I noticed they seemed uncomfortable with my presence and I don’t know why. Men seem like they are protecting women and children.

I tried to approach an old woman to ask a question, but suddenly a man stopped me.

“Just stop there, young lady!” he said and drew a sword. I stopped walking and frowned.

“My apologies... I just wanted to ask, what is this place?” I said. 

“You’re not from here! What do you want in this town?” the man asked again, protectively. 

“I’m Luna. I just got here in this town through a portal and I know nothing about your place, so I want to know what this place is if you don’t mind...” I said, a little anxious. 

“She’s telling the truth, Berting. So don’t be afraid of this girl.” said the old woman I would have wanted to ask earlier. I smiled at the old woman.

“How are you so sure, mother?” asked the man named Berting.

“You know what I’m capable of, Berting, and I’ve never lied.” the old woman said and looked at me.

“Sorry, mother...” Berting uttered, glancing at me. 

“Follow us to our home, hija, and I’ll tell you what you want to know about our place.” the old woman said, then turned her back to me and I followed.

The people still doubt me. Why do they react like this?

When I entered the house, I couldn’t help but feel amazed at the equipment and furniture. The simple house outside has beautiful furnishings inside. The old woman motioned me to sit on a sofa. I sat opposite the old woman and Berting.

“What do you want to know, hija?” the old woman started. 

“Hm, I want to know what this place is?” I asked. 

The old woman cleared her throat and spoke, “This is the world of Majika. Where every one of us that lives in this place has magic. Majika World has split into two; the world of Mage, where you are now, and the other is the world of Black Wizards. Black Wizards are the mortal enemy of the Mages. The Black Wizards use black magic, and it is harmful. And witch wizards curse our town, and tonight we will all transform into wolves, whether young or adults. That’s because of that witch’s curse.” the old woman explained sadly. That’s so sad. 

"Is there any way you can get rid of the curse?" I asked. I wanted to help them undo the curse. 

“We don’t know yet, hija. The witches who came from the Black Wizards are powerful. But only those who live inside the palace are safe from the curse.” the old woman said and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. 

“How did that happen?” I asked. 

“Because of the princess' protection. But her magic can’t cover the whole Mage, so she only gave the palace protection for the safety of the King and Queen...” So, this is how complex their world is. They need my help.

“Don’t worry, I will help you all...” I said, and they looked surprised.

“You can’t fight those witches, hija. They’re powerful and I don’t want you to get involved in this.” the old woman said while shaking her head. 

“If she wants to help, mother, let her,” Berting said. 

“Berting! She can’t! Luna is just a child and so young. She has nothing against the Black Wizards!” This old woman underestimates my ability.

“I’m sorry, but please don’t underestimate my ability. Maybe I'm just a child to you, but I am more powerful than you think I am.” I said in a serious voice and they went silent.

“I apologize, hija. Ever since then, no one has defeated those witches,” she said sadly and sighed.
