Andreas fed Eleanor while she sat beside him, frowning and thinking. She'd occasionally mention her thoughts to him and he'd give a response of his own. Suddenly, she frowned.

"Why are you feeding me?"

He rose a brow and continued. She ate and cast him an odd look.

"You're being too nice. What's the deal?"

He rolled his eyes and dropped the plate on the bed. She smiled, picked it up and started feeding herself, then blurted, "I think it's all connected. All this.... The shadows after me and Carl, he led me here. I think there's a connection." He hadn't read the book but he seemed to understand. She'd finished eating when she noticed that she hadn't felt any form of pain in a while. She dashed for the bathroom and peered into the mirror. He curiously followed and saw her staring at the mirror in disbelief, with her hand raised beside her.

"My face. The bruise is. . . It's gone. My palm too." She whispered and slowly turned to face him. "This isn't normal."
