"Breaking news! A car was hit by a drunk college student and fell into the ocean, at the N-bridge." "The suspect has been arrested. The police and locals filled the scene" "The victim has been identified as the CEO of Tonla Oil Industries. Tari Tariyefa Tonla, daughter of Chief Yokeme Tonla." "Divers have been sent underwater to track the vehicle." "The nation of Nigeria is in a state of mourning as we mourn the death of the...." Yokeme stared at the TV with wide eyes, his hands on his chest, clenching tight. His face was squeezed in pain, greedily taking air into his lungs as he fell off his chair in his office. "Tari." Yokeme muttered before he passed out. The door flung open violently. "Daddy, have you seen the news?.." Malika questioned the second she entered the office. Her face was wet like she had been crying. She scanned the room until her eyes landed on Yokeme lying on the floor. "Daddy!" She screamed. She fell on her knees beside him and felt his breath. Her chest rose and fell violently. "Help!!!!!! Daddy!!!! Somebody help!!!!!" She cried. Almost immediately, about four guards rushed in. They moved Malika aside and carried Yokeme out of the room; Malika rushed after them, still crying her eyes out. [Mitari's Mansion] The house was quiet, with light snores coming from Musa, who was sleeping beside Mitari. The room smelled of sex — a contrast to what had happened the previous night. Mitari's phone vibrated loudly on the bedstand. She groaned, awakened from her sleep, and wiped her eyes before stretching out her arm to take the phone. Without checking who the caller was, she answered the call and placed the phone to her ear. What met her ears was Malika's panicking tone. "Sister Mitari! You have to come to the hospital right now... Daddy had an..." Mitari pulled the phone away from her ear, then stared at the screen with her eyes half-open. She placed the phone back to her ear. "Speak to me." She spoke, her voice calm and cautious. "Daddy had a heart attack after seeing the news, sister Mitari! Sister Tari had an accident!!!" Malika cried. Mitari raised an eyebrow and ended the call. She threw her phone on the bed and sat up straight, a small smile spreading across her face. Finally! Just finally, that bitch is out of the way. Finally she can become the CEO of Tonla Oil Industries, the fucking center of attention. She is gonna take Tari's place like she never existed. Mitari shook Musa. "Baby, wake up, wake the fuck up." Mitari exclaimed. Musa groaned; he wiped his eyes and pulled her to himself, her naked body pressing onto his. "You love my surprise?" Musa asked in a raspy tone. "This was the plan? How did you know she was going to take that highway?" Mitari questioned with a raised eyebrow. "Spent two years pretending to chase Tari just so I’d know how her temper works. I knew after she found out about the embezzlement, she would march right here. That bitch can't control her anger — that was why, when the head of the finance department called, I had the gateman open the gate for her, and purposely let her eavesdrop on our conversation yesterday." Musa explained, softly stroking Mitari's hair. Mitari gasped. "You know my sister more than I do. I am so fucking proud of us. Now we just have to leak her sex tape." Mitari said. "Not now, my love" Musa cut in. "Why?" Mitari questioned with a frown. "We can't leak that now. We have to be patient, let everything die down a bit. Since you are going to take over today, we wouldn't want to raise any suspicion. We have to wait until the chaos dies down a bit, then we leak her sex tape and stage a blackmail. So it will look like she wanted her accident to happen, since she couldn't bear the weight of her sex tape being everywhere." Musa explained. "Goodness, baby, you are a fucking mastermind." Mitari gushed. "Your fucking mastermind. Now go take a shower and get dressed, because today you will become the CEO of Tonla Oil Industries." Musa smiled. Mitari kissed him and stood on the bed, caging him between her legs. Her naked body was fully exposed to view. Musa licked his bottom lip. "You are so fucking tempting; even after all the fucking last night, I still can't get enough of your tempting pussy." Musa complimented. Mitari beamed and climbed down from the bed. Musa spanked her ass, and she flashed him a smile before walking off to the bathroom. The next second, her head popped back out. "Babe, do you want to shower together?" Mitari questioned. "Fuck yes" Musa exclaimed, and threw the covers away as he climbed down from the bed, his dick dangling between his legs as he ran to the bathroom. He carried Mitari into the bathroom, and she giggled loudly as his mouth found her nipples. "Fuck" [Tonla Oil Industries - an hour later] Mitari sat at the head of the boardroom. A pile of tissues was lined on the floor; her fake cries were the only sound in the room. The head of the finance department was the one passing her tissues; the other department heads stood beside her, faking sadness. The board members had this pitiful look on their faces. A particular bald-headed man, with big glasses and a fat face that matched his build, sat not too far from Mitari. That was Chief Bannerman. He occasionally exchanged knowing glances with Mitari. "What is the way forward?" Mr. Isaac, a young shareholder seated at the far end of the long table, asked. "Yes! With Tari's accident, and us not even knowing if she is alive, plus Chairman Yokeme Tonla's sudden heart attack, we couldn't just leave the company to run itself." Another shareholder said. "Mitari is here; after all, she has been working side by side with her sister and father before this tragedy happened." Chief Bannerman chimed in. Mr. Isaac raised an eyebrow at him but didn't say a word. Mitari's cries grew louder. "You guys can't be serious. My sister is missing, with a hundred percent chance that she is dead. And you're talking about me taking over?" Mitari cried loudly. She exchanged a secret knowing glance with Chief Bannerman. Mr. Isaac adjusted his glasses, staring keenly at Mitari as the others argued about Mitari taking over. The hair on his arms stood up; he knew something wasn't right, but he didn't press further. Mitari felt a gaze on her. She looked up to meet Mr. Isaac's eyes, then paused for a millisecond before continuing her cries — this time louder than before. Oh fuck! She forgot to take care of Mr. Isaac too. He was one of the calmest shareholders, and Tari’s close friend. How could she let this one slip? Whatever, there is still enough time. After all, if Tari has an accident, and then her closest shareholder friend disappears too, that will raise too much suspicion. His case will be handled later. And the missing funds. Mitari almost laughed. She loved the way everything was going as planned, everything exactly the way she fucking wanted. She walked out of the boardroom with all the heads of departments following behind her. She dismissed them, leaving only the head of the finance department with her. "Nice job, well done." Mitari praised. The head of the finance department bowed slightly, a smile on his face as he walked behind her. "Check your account; your payment has already been sent." Mitari ordered. "I trust you, ma'am." He replied in a low whisper. "If you stay loyal to me, you will enjoy my blessings. Now shoo — go take all of Tari's portraits out of my new office." Mitari dismissed him. The head of the finance department bowed to her before walking away. A slow, devilish grin spread across her face. Finally. Tari is gone, her father had a heart attack. Everything is working out her way. She walked into the open elevator; the doors closed behind her with a soft chime. Standing just outside the boardroom was Mr. Isaac. His hands were in his suit pockets as he stared at the closed elevator. He had not heard Mitari's conversation with the head of department, but something about the whole situation just didn't sit right with him. He just hissed and walked away. [Police Station - evening] Mitari got a call asking her to come to the police station. She stood inside a room with two investigators, dressed in the most expensive clothes, looking as if she hadn't just been told the most tragic news possible. "Your sister's car was recovered an hour ago. It is badly damaged; the crash and the water pressure crushed it completely. In this situation, there is no possibility of survival." One of the investigators explained, a pained look on his face. "So? Where is the corpse?" Mitari questioned instead. The female investigator raised an eyebrow at her before sighing. She exchanged a knowing glance with the other investigator. "The problem is... there is no corpse." The female investigator said. Mitari raised an eyebrow at her. "What?" She asked, as if she was hearing something impossible. "Yes, Miss Mitari. We didn't find a body in the car. Your sister's corpse is nowhere to be found. We sent deep divers and still found nothing; we have searched down to the ocean floor and still nothing. We are sorry," The male investigator chimed in. Mitari's eyes were wide as fuck. She staggered back as if she had just heard the most impossible thing. "There is a ten percent chance your sister might have survived the accident. But we are still not sure. Please, take it easy," The female investigator said. With that, they walked out, leaving her alone with her thoughts. There is a ten percent chance that Tari is alive? Impossible! Fucking no, impossible. Tari cannot be alive, it can't be. She doesn't even want a zero percent chance that Tari is alive. Five minutes later, Mitari was sitting in her car putting a call through to Musa. "Musa, you have to hear this." Mitari chimed the second the call went through. "Love, what happened?" Musa's voice came from the phone. "The impossible has happened. The police said they didn't find Tari's body, and there is a ten percent chance that she survived." Mitari broke the news. "What!" [3 days later. Somewhere inside a mud house] A figure sat on a stool inside a traditional Ijaw mud house. A single candle lit the room. It was dark outside, and the moon was shining brightly. But even with the moonlight, only half of his sharp features were visible. A woman with a bandaged head and injured stomach lay on a mat, unconscious. It was Tari. Her breathing was steady, just as it had been for the past two days. Ever since she was pulled out of the water, she had been unconscious. As she lay on the mat, a tear slipped from the corner of her eye. Her index finger rose and fell; her eyelids fluttered. Another figure walked into the room and paused with a gasp. "Frost. She is awake!"[Same night~Police/ FRSC impound lot / Secure Yard] "Wow!" Maxwell exclaimed, seeing Tari's car that was pulled out of the ocean. "With this kind of damage, there is no possible chance of survival" Stella spoke in disbelief, as she put on her gloves. The car was damaged beyond repair; all the windows were shattered, the hood was compressed into the car. So with this kind of damage, there is no way Tari could have survived, but the question is where is her body? "How bad can the water pressure be?" Maxwell asked. "Extremely bad" Stella answered, touching the open windows. She walked to the front of the car, and touched one of the headlights. "This damage here is definitely from when the other car hit hers" Stella added. They were the two investigators, who had told Mitari about her sister's chances of survival and now they were handling the case. "Hey, come check this out!" Maxwell called. Stella stood up and walked to him. "What am I checking?" Stella questioned. "The window
Tari's eyes squeezed shut and memories of the accident came flooding back. Another round of tears escaped her eyes. Her eyes fluttered open and she gasped out, chest rising and falling at an uneven pace. Loud, raspy breaths left her throat. For a minute or two everywhere was blurry; she held her head and that was when her sight came back. Tears mixed with confusion as she stared at her unfamiliar environment.A shockwave of pain hit her, and she fell back on the mat, hitting her head on the ground when she tried to sit up.She squeezed her eyes, crumpling her face in pain, and held her head tight."Fuck," she muttered. She opened her eyes again, and that was when she realized her hands were bandaged.A frown appeared on her face as she raised her arms up to stare, then touched her head. She felt the bandage wrapped around it."Take it easy, my dear. You've been out for three whole days."Tari swung her head to the side, to see an old woman with gray hair staring at her with a gentle s
