"What the heck?" Gregory yelled in terror after I dropped the unconscious Sheriff on the table he prepared. "The Sheriff? I can't believe you went this far."

"He shot me," I defended. "And I was out of control."

"This is really, really bad," he said, inspecting the already ripped out shoulder.

"Is he going to survive this?"

"If he was going to survive, his wounds would have begun healing by now."

"But we can't watch him die."

Gregory moved his eyes away from the body and placed them on me. "With all due respect, Alpha, you should have thought about that before tearing off his shoulder."

I straightened up and peered back into his eyes. "What is wrong, Gregory?"

"Nothing." His response was quick, and he tried avoiding my stare.

I stepped closer to him, wanting to peer into his eyes again. "You've been distant. What are you hiding? What is it you are not telling me?"
