My vision suddenly sharpened, and the blurry drunk memories of last night crashed into reality.

I recalled the dim lights of the club, the way I had tried so desperately and failed so miserably to be bold, only to end up fainting directly into his arms.

‘Yes… it was really him!’

He was even more striking than I remembered. His sharp jawline seemed carved from marble. His eyes were piercing with intense shade and were fixed on me with a mixture of confusion.

Another expensive suit!

Another designer watch!

He really went all-in on the rich bachelor aesthetic for his shifts. It was almost impressive if it wasn't so manipulative.

He looked like he had just stepped off a magazine cover, exuding an effortless, dangerous kind of magnetism that made it hard to breathe.

"W-What are you doing here?" I asked him, stuttering.

His brows lifted as if he were surprised to see me talking to him like that. I blinked, trying to look away from him.

I could not keep eye contact with him for long. There was something in his eyes, a very intense glint.

"That should be my question. What are you doing here, woman?" he asked, his voice deep and cold.

I flinched at his cold voice. My gaze returned to him.

"Don't tell me you are here to catch another client. Or…" I paused.

He knit his brows. He stared at me as if he were observing me. Then he asked,

"Didn't you hope we wouldn't meet again? It hasn't even been a day, and you're already so eager that you ran into me?"

I was stunned. "W-Who told you I want to meet you? Stop following me. Did you come here to get more money from me? I have already spent enough for your rented villa that night," I said, clearing my throat. I tried to look tough.

He frowned at me. "Rented villa?" he murmured.

I glanced at his facial features. I saw how his cold lips twitched lightly in the left corner. He really knew how to grab women's attention.

I returned my gaze to his eyes to warn him. However, his sharp gaze shook my wolf inside.

My wolf started wailing inside me. I was too shocked to react. She never reacted like this before.

His scent…

It was now more strange than that night. I almost felt breathless. My knees started to tremble.

'Why am I feeling like this? He is just an escort!' I told myself.

"So... you work here?" he asked, lowering his gaze to my ID card.

I quickly took it off and pushed it into my bag.

I pushed the strange feelings I was having inside and the reaction of my wolf. I thought if I lied to him, he would stop following me. So I replied,

"No, I don't work here. I came here to meet someone who works here. I think you should find another client. But not here, somewhere else. And I am not that type of woman either. So stop following me."

I lowered my head.

He calmly stared at me. His hands tucked into his pockets, and he muttered,

"Yeah, I saw what kind of woman you are. A desperate woman who forgot her fiancé at night and jumped into male escorts."

I froze when I heard his words, which cut through my heart. I tightened my fists. I really made a mistake that night.

Suddenly, a few footsteps echoed, coming closer to us from the other direction.

My eyes widened when I saw a group of female employees coming in our way.

Without thinking, I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the shadows behind a nearby pillar.

He stiffened, pulling his hand back slightly. His expression turned icy as if he did not like it when I touched him.

"What are you doing?" He asked with an enraged voice.

“Shhh!”

I risked a glance past the pillar. The employees were just chatting as they walked, completely oblivious.

"I’m hiding us! Isn’t it obvious? I can't be seen with you,” I whispered without looking at him.

The man stood against the pillar quietly. His eyes were on me, watching me with an unnerving, steady gaze.

There was a thick silence between us.

I was so close to him that I could smell his cologne… something sharp, clean, and undeniably expensive.

I wondered where he got the perfume from, maybe from the money he earned after pleasing some rich women.

When I looked at his face, I noticed him glancing at my hand.

Only then did I realize my fingers were still wrapped tightly around his wrist. I pulled away instantly, clearing my throat.

"I-I am sorry!" I whispered, my face flushing.

His sharp voice came out low. "Are you done with your acting?"

I frowned at him. "A-Acting?"

At that time, I overheard the female employees’ voices from a distance.

"Did you see Alpha Aleric?”

“I can’t believe we are going to see him every day!"

"He’s so cold, but honestly? It’s hard to stop staring at him. He is just… breathtaking!”

"I heard he doesn't like women getting close to him without his permission. Maybe he is committed to someone. Who knows?"

"That can be a reason."

I gave them a disdainful look. The women left as they did not notice us.

I scoffed as I uttered, "How can they talk about a dangerous man like that?"

The man against the pillar tilted his head and asked, "Who are you talking about?"

I gave him a knowing look. He was really something else. If I hadn't known he was an escort who worked in night clubs, I would have thought he was someone really powerful.

"Don't you know who? Alpha Aleric, of course. Didn't you just hear the women?" I replied.

His face was indifferent. He folded his arms against his chest and asked, "What about him?"

I could not help but warn him. "Leave the company as soon as possible. Alpha Aleric is our new CEO. He is an arrogant and ruthless man. If you get caught trying to grab women's attention in his company, he can put you in jail without a second thought."

Mentioning Aleric Vance usually sent people running for the hills.

But this man?

He just leaned in, looking more amused than afraid. It was infuriating.

"Are you listening?" I snapped. "You are in real trouble if he finds you here.”

He should have been sprinting in the other direction, yet he remained perfectly still, watching me with that unsettling, predatory focus.

"What if I say he can't do anything to me?" He asked, ignoring my panic entirely, his eyes locking onto mine with unnerving intensity.

I was taken aback. Under his gaze, my heart shook. But still I spoke,

"He is our future Alpha. The whole pack is his. One swipe of his hand and you are done. If he catches you here with me, acting like you own this place..." I trailed off, shaking my head, my hands trembling.

"Just get out of here before you get us both killed."

He had a calm expression. His eyes glinted with more amusement when he asked, “You sound really confident about him. Have you ever seen him? What does he even look like?”

My pride flared. I didn't want him to think I was just some clueless, terrified girl.

I stepped backward, shielding my face as I turned to walk away.

"O-Of course, I know what he looks like. I don't need to give you a description. Don't ask me anything else. See you never, Mr. Escort."

I turned on my heel, walking away from him without another word. For an escort, he looked cold and strange. Usually men who sold themselves did not behave like that.

While leaving, I heard his deep, faded voice murmuring behind me.

“So you really know him? How interesting!”

I ignored his voice completely. My heart started to beat faster as I walked out of the company.

However as soon as I stepped outside, my wolf spoke inside me which completely froze me.

“He is our mate!”
