Seraphina 's POV
After the meeting, I went over to Alister to ask about Lyla.
"What pack did she come from? Is she a rogue?" "She doesn't have a pack." "Oh? How did you find her then? Surely, my father would have told me something. I'm guessing you found her." Alister raked his hands through his hair in frustration, "I do not know. This conversation is not important. Just drop it, okay?" I’d never heard him so irritated and defensive before. "Okay. I guess it's not then," I frowned. Before I could continue my father walked over to us with a grim look on his face. He scrubbed a hand down his face. “I don't like where things are going. We have been allies with the Silverback Pack for centuries, but suddenly, things are changing rapidly," he expressed to Alister without regard to me. "I already arranged to speak with their Alpha, and he accepted. I think we can sort this out quickly. We don't need any more enemies," Alister responded with finality in his voice, and my father nodded. "I want to come as well," I interjected. "I don't think that's a good idea. If something happens, I won't be able to protect you and myself.” Alister immediately dismissed me. I raised an eyebrow at him, "Are you forgetting that I'm pretty badass at fighting? I'm not just some weak girl, you know. I've trained all my life." I placed my hands on my hips. I didn’t care if I sounded like a petulant child. "Maybe so, but you're still Alpha’s daughter. You're an important asset. I still think it's dangerous." "Seraphina is excellent at combat. It's one of the best, if I'm being honest. I think it should be fine to bring her. She can hold her own." my dad stated, inevitably ending the debate. "As you wish. Seraphina, we're supposed to meet them in two days' time. Be prepared by then. If you'll excuse me, there are things I have to tend to. I'll be in my study," Alister nodded at me and my father and left. What was the point of being married if we never saw each other. We had been together for two years and only had been intimate once to consummate the marriage. After that it was like he wanted nothing to do with me. I often envied pack members with their mates because they seemed so happy. As I walked to the large cafeteria that the pack ate every meal at, I heard some of the pack members talking about how gorgeous Lyla was. They were enthralled by her beauty and the way she carried herself. "Well, looks like there's some new excitement in the pack," Chrissy, my best friend, noted as she bumped her hip with mine as we walked. Her auburn hair fell perfectly as she showed off the new multilayered hairstyle. It was edgy and full of character. Nothing compared to my straight raven colored hair.I rolled my eyes. "Of course, there's excitement. Did you see her? She's perfect." I walked into the cafeteria and noticed that the thorn in my side had already beaten me to dinner. Lyla sipped on a glass of water as the males in the pack surrounded her, most likely hoping she's their mate or wanting to take her to bed. Annoyance reared its ugly head as the beautiful woman continued to build a crowd. Even women were going over to her to see if they would have a chance with her.I frowned. She quickly touched my shoulder as she saw the look on my face. "What's wrong?" I released a shaky sigh, “I wished Alister looked at me the way these pack members are looking at her. It’s been years, and nothing has changed. This isn’t how it’s supposed to be when you find your mate. It’s supposed to be different.” I took a breath and looked up at the ceiling. “Alister and I are far from perfect, but it’s like I’m invisible to him.” I got in small, formed line for tonight’s pig roast dinner. “That’s something you should talk to him about since it’s such a deep concern of yours. You can’t go on like this. Trust me.” Chrissy said with a far-off expression. She had been going through her own mate issues lately but refused to talk about it. “We’ve both been so busy, I guess I didn’t realize what was going on.’’ “Well I think you guys should work on your marriage. That’s so important, babe. I’ll be here for you along the way.” “Thanks Chrissy.” -- After eating my feelings at dinner and talking more with Chrissy, I finally made it to my room. It was dimly lit and to my surprise Alister was actually in bed on his side instead of in his study. His eyes were glued to the phone as his fingers tapped away. A small smile played on his lips every time a notification popped up on the screen. Sensing my presence, he stood abruptly. I walked over to him and placed a hand on his chest as I took a deep breath. "If you're not busy –" I placed my other palm on his bare chiseled chest. I needed affection. I needed to feel like I was his wife and not a roommate. “I need to get back to planning. I have a lot to do," he cut me off. “Can you plan in here? I will read my book on my kindle." I pleaded. I was desperate. Desperate for anything. Desperate for him. His eyes stared intently at me, and he slowly nodded. "Fine." Alister took out his computer and sat on the bed as I took out my iPad where I opened my most recent novel. We were doing completely separate tasks, but it felt comforting in a weird way. I didn't know when I fell asleep, but I felt Alister's arm around me. I closed my eyes and fell into his touch. This was what I wanted, but why did it feel so temporary and forced?Suddenly my heart began to race not just from the crowd cheering, but from the pull I felt towards her. I didn’t realize I had taken a step toward her until I was only a few feet away. She was in a simple yellow sungress with her blond hair in a loose fitting knot. She was the epitome of perfection. The beauty before me had the greenest eyes I had ever seen and seemed to captivate me in a way that was indescribable. She visibly gulped as stood in front of her before she slightly bowed. “Congratulations, Alpha. It’s an honor to meet you.” she stammered. ‘Mate,’ my wolf Narif yelled in my head. I gave her a warm smile. I loved how her pale cheeks reddened as she spoke. “Thank you, it’s nice to meet you. I didn’t catch your name,” I said, my voice low as I tried to hide the breathlessness I felt at being so close to her.“Sophie,” she replied softly, her eyes sparkling with an unspoken understanding. “But everyone calls me Soph.”“Soph,” I repeated, savoring the sound as it rolled o
LIAM POV I slammed into the red head, who was on all fours before me. I had forgotten her name already. I had met her earlier in the day at my best friend Trevor’s house while we were all lounging around the pool. She was cute and had no problem with coming home with me in the middle of the day, before the alpha ceremony. Today my chosen father would pass the pack to me, making me the new Alpha. I had too many feelings about it, leading to what I did best. Pushing my feelings aside and got lost into something else or someone else. I heard a light knock before I heard my mother’s curse.Damnit mom! “Mom, get out!” I yelled while continuing to pump into the red head. She attempted to stop but I let out a threatening growl, letting her know that I was no where finished with her. I heard my mom bump her head on the door frame, making me roll my eyes. She reminded me of Jess from New Girl, with how clumsy she was. ‘Mom just walked in on me having a girl over.’ I sent a mind link to my
Seraphina POV Callan and I had decided to make the house near the waterfall our getaway home when we needed it. We arrived at our home for the next couple of days. It was a modernized one floor flat that looked over a gorgeous waterfall. “Tell me again why we can’t use this place as the pack house?” I asked the umteenth time to Callan as I looked at the waterfall through the floor to ceiling length windows. Everytime I came to this place it made me feel like I was in another world with its modern and exotic architecture. I looked at the floor to ceiling length windows and watched as the water cascaded down the smooth rocks. Everytime we came here I always asked Callan the same question. He put our bags down and walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. “Because we need to be closer to everyone, you know this.” He nipped at my mark, making me giggle. My mind went back to the first time I had come to this place. When a scream had left my lips as I made contact with
Seraphina POV Maeve rounded the corner and whacked Callan on the back of the head. “Hush, let the girl bring what she wants,” she scolded. It was so nice seeing her back to her almost normal self again. My brows knitted together when I noticed the visible sweat on her brow. “You okay Maeve?” She waved a hand in front of her face. “Yeah, jeeze, who turned up the heat in here,” I looked at the thermostat that hung on the wall and read sistythree degrees. I would hardly call that hot. I sniffed the air and noticed that her scent seemed stronger today as well. Callan’s nostrils flared before I saw drake running down the staircase and swooping his bride up. She cackled as he booked it up the stairs. “Sorry guys! Baby making time!” Drake called from the top of the stairs. I looked at Callan with a smile. “Guess we know what they will be doing while we are gone.” Callan chuckled before wrapping an arm around my shoulders. “Let’s get out of here before we have to put ear plugs in.”Mae
I watched the boys with a deadpan expression as they tried to figure out how to take off a dirty diaper and put a new one on. “Don’t worry mum, we got it.” Liam had told me. “Just sit back and relax.”How they expected me to do so when they looked like they were attempting some sort of science experiment on my daughter was beyond me. I went to push up from the rocking chair where I was seated when Callan spoke. “We got this babe, don’t stress.” I took in a breath. ‘They can do this, they can do this.’ I said to myself. ‘You sure about that?’ Alya my wolf chided back. It wasn’t until I heard the sound of a splat and a gasp from Liam did I finally decide I was done watching this shit show. Literally. There was shit filled diaper on top of Callan’s foot. Liam looked at Callan in horror and then disgust. A smile spread on our girl’s face at my boy incompetence to change a diaper. I stood up and marched over to a stunned looking Callan and Liam. Liam moved out of the way. “You k
You keep looking at my dick like that, we won’t be able to take a relaxing bath together,” he teased. I stuck out my tongue at him like a child, earning me a laugh from Callan. He climbed in behind me, the water sloshing over the edge at the movement. He wrapped his arms around me and pressed a kiss on my shoulder. I sank into his embrace, loving the rare intimate moment we were now sharing. It felt like so much had happened in such a short amount of time, that we had missed out on opportunities such as this. We sat in silence, simply enjoying the moment with one another. However I couldn’t help but think about Liam’s situation and about his family. For the first time since I had lost the baby, my heart and head were on the same page. I snuggled up to Callan and rested my head on his shoulder. Tingles ignited where we touched, further soothing my racing thoughts. “What’s on your mind, Princess?” Callan asked as he pressed a kiss on the top of my head. “What will happen to Liam?”
Seraphina POV 6 Years Later….“Ugh harder!” I heard a female voice cry out. Whoever she was, she was getting the pounding of her life by the sounds coming from down the hall. A blush crept over my cheeks and chest as I thought about what must be happening in the room. As I continued to walk down the hallway to find Liam for the Alpha Ceremony. I quickened my pace in an attempt to give the couple more privacy. However, as I got closer to Liam’s room, I noticed the woman’s voice get louder. As I approached my door, a thumping sound accompanied by the soft moans of a female was emanating from his bedroom! Dejavu slammed into me as I remembered the day that I caught Allister in my room with Lyla. My hand shook as I grabbed the vintage gold knob. I knocked on the door while opening the door and instantly regretted it. Slowly I opened the door and gasped at the sight before me. It took a few moments for me to register what was going on. Before me was Liam pounding into a beautiful red h
Seraphina POV5 Months later….I walked next to Maeve in the department store as we looked over the racks of baby clothes. After finally receiving permission from Doctor Desmond that some walking could help induce labor. Our babygirl was finally cooked. It was time for us to meet her. Only now that it was time, she was taking her sweet time and enjoying the comfort and protection that my body provided. I couldn’t blame her after everything that we had gone through together. Our girl was a trooper through it all. I felt a tinge of pain in my lower back and some pressure in my lower abdomen. The pain stopping me in my tracks for a moment. Maeve looked at me with concern. “You alright babe?”I held on top of the rack and continued to take deep breaths. “Ugh, yeah. Just Braxton Hicks,” I grumbled. After a moment we continued to look through the racks of clothes. Maeve and Drake were having a baby boy, and I couldn’t help but be envious of how much Maeve was glowing. I looked like a g
Mia POVI circled the chair that bound the man who haunted all of my dreams and almost every waking moment. The only time I didn’t think about what this man had put me through, was when I was with my son, my grandson, and daught-in-law. They seemed to drown out the voices and images in my head that wanted me to relive the horrible days during my captivity. “Please Mia, I love you.” Kevin pleaded with me. Tears, snot, and blood all congeled together on his handsome face. His blood red eyes were now constantly out as his wolf tried to heal the wounds that I kept inflicting. We were on day three of me torturing him and using toys on him that he had used on me. I refused to be the victim any longer. My daughter attempted to punish him, but didn’t have the stomach for it. I just prayed that she too would find some peace knowing that this pieace of shit would no longer be around to hurt us. She had come back down today for some reason. Maybe for closure? I couldn’t be certain. “You don’t
