Rajata came out of the bathroom. It was late, but he had just arrived home after working late. A tiring day though satisfying. He managed to complete his assignment right at the end of this week. With his hair still wet, he browsed the internet on his cell phone, looking for dinner ideas.
The browser application disappeared from the screen, surprised Rajata. A moment later, the phone call application appeared on the screen. The telephone started vibrating a moment later. Rajata gasped as he read the name on the screen.
Merina.
The small number in the upper left corner of the phone's screen showed the current time, it's past nine in the evening. Since their meeting last Sunday, he and Merina had not contacted each other again. Rajata kept his phone vibrating, making sure that his old friend wasn't on the wrong call.
The phone keeps vibrating.
Rajata pressed the 'Accept' button. "Hello," he said opening the conversation, "what's wrong, Mer?"
"Ta?" s
Rajata felt like he was swooped to a different realm. The hotel ambience that was bright and quiet suddenly disappeared. The atmosphere of the cafe was dim, only the stage was lit by spotlights. The boom of the music played by the music group on the stage was blaring. Tables and chairs were filled with visitors who were immersed in their busy lives, alone or with their spouses or friends.Merina looked for an empty place. Her choice fell on a sofa with a short table. As soon as she stepped over there then threw herself down, she put the laptop bag under the table.Rajata sat beside Merina.A waiter immediately came over. Merina swiftly delivered her order, and the waiter left them. They were both silent, just enjoyed the song that was reverberating. Merina sat back against the sofa with her legs stretched out. Her face seemed to soften with a faint smile on her face. Rajata sat upright next to her.The waiter appeared again, this time with a large bowl
"Good morning dear!" sweet and soft voice, woke Rajata from sleep. He turned around in the direction of the sound. His gaze stumbled upon Merina who was sitting cross-legged on a chair, looking at him with one elbow resting on the desk. Only wearing Rajata's shirt unbuttoned, Merina looks attractive even though her face still looked sleepy."Morning Mer ...," murmured Rajata.Merina hurriedly put one index finger to her mouth, then showed the ring on the ring finger. "Yes, sorry, Syad, last night I was too drunk, I forgot to inform you when I finished hanging out and returned to the room," said Merina.Rajata just realized that Merina's hand was leaning against the table, was, in fact, holding a cell phone that was attached to her ear and covered in loose hair. I also realized with whom the woman was talking. Rajata got up from his sleeping position, sat on the bed, looked at Merina.Still starred at Rajata, Merina smiled sweetly while still chatting on the p
The doorbell woke up Kalyana. She got up heavily from the bed and staggered to the door. Once there she peeked out of the eyepiece, with an annoyance of trying to raise her gaze, in her effort to identify the person stood outside. Armand. Kalyana hurriedly opened the door."Afternoon, Na," said Armand with a smile as he walked in."What time is it?" asked Kalyana. Her eyes still felt heavy."Ten o'clock, why?" replied Armand as he threw himself on the sofa."What's wrong with you?" said Kalyana, "it's still early. And it’s Saturday! I just finished doing office work at four this morning!"Armand chuckled softly. "Same, me too, then this morning my boss called.""Then why don't you just go to the boss's house?" Kalyana said while throwing her body next to her beloved sitting, leaning her head on Armand's shoulder, then closing her eyes again.Armand chuckled again and gave Kalyana a soft hug."What did he call you so early
“Take a shower!” exclaimed Merina several tens of minutes later as she walked out of the bathroom door, wearing only a towel."Yes, sir!" Rajata replied, grabbing the shirt that Merina had borrowed and now lying on the floor. Merina's perfume smelled faintly there. Without speaking, he entered the bathroom. When Rajata came out of the bathroom fully dressed, Merina was still grooming herself in front of the mirror. Neat and pretty in her long jeans and t-shirt."Are you sure this is the best decision, Ta?" muttered Merina to her reflection in the mirror."Yes," replied Rajata briefly, "unless you no longer want Arsyad.""How if I miss you later?" asked Merina, still against the mirror."'Later'?" joked Rajata, stood behind Merina, also looked in the mirror, "even now already I miss you!"Merina turned and hugged Rajata tightly."But we have to be strong," replied Rajata slowly, hugging Merina back. "I know you are strong, since
"Are you done getting angry?" Kalyana said a few moments later, breaking the silence."Angry?" Armand replied. "About what?""About the car that nearly hit us earlier.""Oh, yeah, I’m done, Na," said Armand, "why?""Very good!" said Kalyana, "I'm the one who wants to be angry now!""What? On what do you want to be angry?""On why you were so angry so much, anyway!" Kalyana babbled."He just cut the lane carelessly that we almost hit him, Na." Armand defended himself."But anyway, we did not hit him, right?" said Kalyana again, "and it's be you who should be carefull, because we got into the traffic!"Armand fell silent."After all, I’ve never seen you being so angry about a small mistake like that," muttered Kalyana, "and it wasn’t the first time people cut our way."Armand remained silent. “You are also more angry than usual,” muttered Armand a moment later."Oh, so I c
After parking the car in the Juanda airport parking lot, Kalyana turned off the engine while Armand immediately went out to pick up the suitcase in the trunk. The two of them then walked across the parking lot to the departure gate."You're leaving, aren't you, Mand?" Kalyana asked, holding her lover's arm.Armand chuckled curtly. "Yes, honey," muttered Armand then. They arrived at the boarding gate. Armand opened the phone, looking for a ticket to show to the doorman.Kalyana hugged the big, tall man tightly from behind.Armand smiled, stopping his activities as he pulled the little girl's body in front of him. He then hugged Kalyana tightly. "Come go with me!" he muttered a moment later.Kalyana smiled sweetly, and nodded slowly."Seriously?" asked Armand.Again Kalyana nodded, still smiling."What about the Auction House that you want to lead?"Still smiling, Kalyana shrugged. "I don't know," she said later, "i
The weekly meeting was still ongoing. Rajata could already listen to the conversations about a topic that was not his responsibility. It was past six o'clock in the afternoon but the two busy people on the opposite side still asked the whole team to discuss. It's boring, but Rajata prefered to be here. It's been a month, but the solitude still reminded him of Merina. The vibrations of the cell phone in the trouser pocket caught Rajata's attention. He checked the incoming messages. A number he didn't recognize. Rajata hurriedly opened the message."Hi, how are you?"Rajata's forehead frowned. Even though it's not listed in the contact list, remindeed to have read the number.Rajata opened the call list and went through them one by one, again a little hopeful that Merina's number was there. Rajata's thumb movement came to a halt as he read one of the numbers, exactly the same as he one that had just texted him. Rajata reads the date he made the call, then r
Rajata entered the restaurant. His gaze swept over the occupied tables one by one. It took him a while to recognize Kalyana, who was sitting alone, with a glass of latte on the table. Wearing a blazer and straight dark blue skirt, her appearance was completely different from when they met at Malioboro that time. Immediately he rushed over. "Hi, Na! How are you?" he exclaimed.Kalyana smiled broadly. "Hi, Ta!" she replied, holding out her hand for a shake. "Come on, sit down!"Rajata sat opposite Kalyana. "Are you visiting Surabaya, Na?" Rajata asked Kalyana."No, I do live in Surabaya," answered Kalyana with a big smile."Oh, dear, Na!" exclaimed Rajata, "and I've recorded your phone number correctly!""Yes", replied Kalyana with a light chuckle."So, why are you just calling me now?" asked Rajata, "I thought I misstook your number or you just didn't want me to contact you.""Sorry, Ta, I've been busy lately," said Kalyana. "By the way," she
