Chapter 3

To make sure Sabrina got the full experience, I deliberately scheduled diaper changing before the labor simulation.

Most people at the parenting simulation center were expecting parents. They followed the instructor closely and practiced with serious expressions.

The moment Sabrina unfastened the simulation baby's diaper, the poop—made from a carefully blended mix of chocolate cream and coffee grounds—made her gag. She couldn't bring herself to touch it at all.

Her brain automatically blocked out the coffee aroma.

She ignored the instructor's repeated reminders and demonstrations and was already on the verge of a breakdown.

The couple next to her seemed to picture their future child and, overcome with emotion, even kissed the simulation baby's butt.

Sabrina visibly snapped.

Screaming like she'd seen a ghost, she bolted out of the classroom, leaving everyone behind in stunned silence.

When I found her, she was retching so hard she could barely stand.

With tears in her eyes, she said, "Abby, I really can't do this. It's disgusting. I swear I smelled it."

"Rina, you're overthinking it. It's just chocolate cream. Smell it. It's actually kind of sweet."

I reached out again, trying to coax her.

Sabrina gagged and threw up again.

A faint smile danced in my eyes as I completely ignored her pleas to leave and dragged her straight to the labor simulation room.

Come on, my money didn't grow on trees. If I paid for it, we were finishing it.

When the simulation reached level five, Sabrina was screaming herself hoarse. She clutched my hand and begged, "Abby, it hurts. Please, turn it off."

I didn't move.

The more miserable she sounded, the more pleasure I felt rising inside me.

Using stomach pain as an excuse, I stepped out of the room, as I was afraid the smile on my face would give me away.

Through the glass in the door, I watched Sabrina writhing in agony.

This was nothing.

In my previous life, Sabrina had slashed my stomach. No matter how I begged, she didn't hesitate.

To make sure I suffered and didn't die too quickly, she poured an entire bottle of hydrogen peroxide onto my wound to disinfect it.

The pain was so intense I wanted to die, yet I couldn't pass out. The repeated tearing sensation crushed me completely.

Compared to that, this little simulation was just child's play. It wasn't nearly enough.

The staff member controlling the current thought Sabrina felt it wasn't enough and slowly turned it higher.

She screamed like a pig about to be slaughtered. Cold sweat poured down her face.

I heard the staff mutter under her breath, "That's one twisted fetish."

Crouched in the corner, I did everything I could not to burst out laughing.

Sabrina grew up in an ordinary single-parent household. Her mother supported them by selling vegetables, and the hardship of her childhood made her swear she'd rise above it all.

But once she married into money, she became arrogant.

She looked down on security guards, thinking they were born to stand at gates. She despised waiters, believing they existed only to serve others. She scorned anyone poorer than her, seeing them as beneath her.

She never once considered that she'd done those same jobs herself.

Sabrina even looked down on me. In her mind, she was doing me a favor by being my friend. So when she needed me, I was supposed to sacrifice everything and gratefully accept her offer.

Suddenly, a loud crash came from inside the room.

Sabrina staggered out, and I grabbed her arm. "Rina, what's wrong?"

"I don't want to have kids. I don't want to give birth. Never! Abby, it hurts so bad. I can't take it!"

"What nonsense are you talking about? I went through it with you. Just grit your teeth and get through it. Think about Harold. Think about your marriage. You need to have a child."

But my words no longer worked. Sabrina shook me off and ran away.

A few days later, she called me, sounding unusually smug.

"Abby, guess what? I found a woman to have a baby for me. See? There's nothing money can't solve. Don't be too upset. It's not your fault that you couldn't help. I just hope that you won't be too envious of me when you have no one to care for you in your old age."

She had to get one last jab in.

My gaze turned cold, but I still said, "Congrats. Hurry up and get started with Harold. You don't want things dragging on."

"Of course. I'll talk to him tonight, and we'll put it on the agenda right away."

After what I'd learned in my previous life, I knew exactly what kind of person Sabrina was.

She would never give up until she got what she wanted. I was sure she would look for a surrogate.

I hadn't been idle. I'd had people watching her the whole time. All I needed to do was present the candidate I had already prepared for her.

That was my real goal.

After being reborn, every time I met Sabrina, I habitually recorded our conversations.Along with her chats about finding someone to be a surrogate, I had enough evidence to crush her.I paid to have the video of Sabrina being beaten pinned on a news site. Then, I hired a marketing account to push a comparison post. "The Betrayed Wife Is Actually the Other Woman?"The buzz grew. The online community began to doubt Sabrina's act, suspecting that Harold and I were just playing our parts according to a script.Sabrina tried to explain in her live stream that this was all my dirty trick to smear her name. When the timing was right, I released the recording of Sabrina asking me to be her surrogate."Abby, please, have a baby for me. It won't hurt you at all. I'm just borrowing your womb for a few months."It won't cost you a dime, and you get a son, too. It's like a retirement plan for you and a solution for me. Isn't it perfect?"The internet exploded. After all, surrogacy was il

One day, I opened my door to find spoiled leftovers spilled all over the floor. I'd had enough.I blew up in the owners' group chat and tagged the property management."Who doesn't have hands around here? Throw your own trash away. Don't dump it in front of my door. I'm sparing your reputation for now, but if there's a next time, I'll drop your photos immediately."Before the management could reply, the group chat exploded with insults."Maybe you should think about what you've done. You've thrown your reputation away, yet here you are, pretending to care about anyone else's reputation.""What you did is way worse than a little trash.""Miss, maybe you should just move. You're dragging this neighborhood down, embarrassing us all.""Stop wasting your breath on her. Just keep a close eye on your own husbands. Otherwise, she'll make her move before you even know it."My temper flared instantly."If all you can do is insult, then don't bother replying. What I do is none of your da

While Sabrina was busy chasing after Harold's affair, I took the chance to reinforce my door lock and install security cameras.I knew she wouldn't let me off that easily.Even if there was no love between her and Harold, she could still deceive herself. But I had exposed Harold and ripped away her last shred of dignity.Sabrina couldn't stand seeing me doing better than her.One day, a local news headline caught my eye."Social Decay! Mistress Publicly Shames Legitimate Wife, Then Gets Kicked Out."I clicked on the video. Sure enough, it was Sabrina acting like a total shrew at Harold's company.Suddenly, it all felt utterly pointless.Sabrina, who took such pride in being the legitimate wife, was seen by everyone else as nothing more than a shameless mistress, scorned and despised by all.In the video, she had tried to push Zara, only to get kicked by Harold."Crazy bitch! How dare you hurt my wife? I'll kill you if anything happens to my baby!"I just treated it like a jo

I texted Zara about everything and ignored all of Sabrina's attempts to reach me.After a few days, I finally sent her ten thousand dollars."Rina, I've done all I can. I've borrowed from everywhere, but it's still just a drop in the bucket. Here's ten grand. Take it for now. We'll figure out the rest together."I played the supportive best friend, showing sympathy. But she clearly didn't want comfort. Even now, she was still cocky. She sneered and then slammed the cash onto the table, scattering the bills everywhere."Are you kidding me, Abby? How dare you brush me off like a beggar? Don't you dare look down on me. Do you really think I'm down and out, needing your charity?"I'm doing you a favor by letting you help me. Otherwise, with your social standing, you wouldn't even be fit to be my friend! Ten grand? You seriously have the nerve to offer that? Aren't you embarrassed?"I frowned and shot back, "Sabrina, do you think my family prints money? You think I can give you endl

So, since Sabrina couldn't squeeze money out of Harold, I was her next target? She was really shameless to even open her mouth and ask for something that insane.I played clueless and listened as Sabrina kept rambling."This whole surrogacy thing costs a lot, and I'm a bit short on cash. As my best friend, you have to help me. Actually, I was going to ask you to cover the whole thing, but then I thought that might be a bit much. I figured 50-50 is fairer. Just think of it as paying into your own retirement insurance."Had she lost her mind? Was I supposed to thank her for the discount?Did she really believe kids were a retirement plan?Kids were the most unreliable these days—especially when they weren't even mine.I gave a disdainful curl of my lip when she wasn't looking. Then, putting on my best nervous act, I asked, "How much do you need?""Not much. Just one million dollars." She said it like it was just 100 dollars.I yelled in shock, "What? One million dollars? She bought jewelry worth tens of thousands and bags worth millions without blinking.Something that was not even close to happening suddenly felt like a done deal to her.I had the surrogate I arranged reach out to Sabrina, acting desperate. I told her to start with an offer of one million dollars and let Sabrina stew in anxiety a little longer. As far as I knew, ever since becoming a full-time housewife, she had lived entirely off Harold.
