Dune’s Pov

I poured another drink and gulped it into my throat but the burn did nothing to settle me.

My phone buzzed and I snapped my head to see Elias’s name on the screen.

“You’re not gonna believe this,” he said, his words sharp. “Vanessa cracked.”

I froze. “What’s the secret?”

“Riley’s been working for her sister. Vanessa’s supposed to be the one doing the job, but Riley took it.”

I turned slowly toward the window, my lips curling into a grin. “Are you serious?” I asked.

“Dead serious. I recorded her every word.”

“Elias, you beautiful bastard.” I beamed, “do you have any idea what this means?” I laughed, my chest bobbing as I dud. “She just handed me the knife to slit Jax’s throat.”

I hung up before he could say more, the grin stretching across my face until it hurt. This was it. I reached for the drink, poured out another full cup, and took my time savoring it.

Jax… God, I couldn’t wait to to see the look on his face when he found out who his woman was.
