Chapter Eight

Zoey strides back to the kitchen and Kevin tags behind, his gaze tender on her, a flush hint of guilt filled his face, but Zoey was too engrossed in her work to notice his expression.

“Look, Zoey, I am sorry that I did not come to your aid, but with those guys, it is pretty dangerous and you could lose your life, so next time please learn to be careful”

“It is alright, I understand how these things work now, I will be more careful next time, I just didn't think that they would act so aggressively” She replied and continued her work.

Kevin pats her shoulder before going back to his duty, all this while Zander pretends to be so busy but is hooked up in their discussion.

Once they threw for the day, Zoey helped Zander clean up the dishes that were left considering he was slow and his hands had turned sore.
