Episode 5

Jennie, who sits at the end of the bed, began to clench her hands tightly as she heard her father and mother's laughter, which sounded so happy when Irene was home. But, very different when Jennie was there.

Irene and Jennie used to be very close like any brother and sister. But as Jennie grew older, everything changed.

She felt that the more days the mother compared herself to her sister in any matter. Furthermore, Irene has grown into a successful career woman of what her parents desire, while Jennie is still chasing her dream as a musician, even though she has received no support from her father or mother.

Of course, this makes the relationship between Irene and Jennie worse by the day.

Night fell. In her room, Irene was standing in front of a large mirror while looking at herself, wearing a black dress given by her father.

Irene took a deep breath when she saw her pitiful face because she had to attend an event she despised.

Irene walked out of the room. Down some stairs, and approached her father and mother, who were waiting in the family room.

"Irene, you look so pretty tonight," the mother said as she rose from her seat.

"Of course, she is beautiful because she is my child," said Daniel, who was overjoyed that he had succeeded in producing a child as lovely as Irene.

Irene laughed awkwardly, "Ah, Mom and Dad always praise me excessively."

"That is a fact, not a compliment." Daniel chuckled. "Let's go now," Daniel walked Irene out to the car, his arm around her shoulder.

"Is it just the three of us? Is Jenny not coming?" When Irene realized that only the three of them had left, she looked at her father's face.

"Jennie doesn't want to come, and this meeting isn't that important to her anyway," Hara explained.

While walking in her father's arms, Irene tried to turn her head and look up, specifically at the tightly closed door to Jennie's room.

Not sure when she last talked and joked with Jennie, her younger sister. Irene understands why Jennie is the way she is; she has even told her mother and father not to compare Jennie to herself because she does not want Jennie to hate her even more.

Not only that, but Irene remembers exactly what made Jennie hate her even more. Jennie once stated that her relationship with her boyfriend ended because of Irene, who was still unmarried at an older age. Jennie, who had already planned to take her relationship to the next level of marriage, was forced to postpone it because Mom and Dad couldn't agree and asked Jennie to wait for Irene to marry first.

Knowing this made Irene feel bad for her younger sister. Irene feels she couldn't make Jennie happy now that they were both grownups. Since then, Irene has asked Crystal to find her a boyfriend so that if he is suitable and convinces Irene, Irene will marry soon so that Jennie can also carry out her wedding. However, finding a life partner is not as easy as imagined, and Irene ends up with her single status, while Jennie accepts her fate.

But, after that incident, as she had promised that when she married, she would look for Jennie's ex-lover and ask him to return so that they could continue their wedding plans, which had fallen through due to Irene.

The restaurant where Irene will meet with the child of her mother's best friend is not far away; it only takes them about twenty minutes to get there.

Irene followed in the footsteps of her father and mother, wearing black heels as high as 5 centimeters.

When a man opened the restaurant door for Irene's family, he asked, "Good evening. How many people do you want seating for?"

"Where is the Min Sharon reservation table?" Hara inquired.

"Ah, please allow me to deliver."

The man took the first step, leading Irene, her mother, and her father to a table reserved for Min Sharon.

"Please take a seat. All dishes have been ordered. Do you want it brought directly?" inquired the man.

"Later. If the Min family arrives, you can only serve it at the table," Hara responded.

"All right, Mrs."

The man walked away after nodding. Irene sat down and began to take her cellphone from her bag before looking at the clock on the screen, which was already twenty minutes past seven.

"How long will it take them to arrive, Mom?" Irene inquired, a little nervously.

With a smile, Hara looked at Irene, “They will be here soon. Are you hungry already?”

"Ah no," Irene said with an awkward smile, "May, I go to the toilet first?" Irene continued.

Irene rose from her seat and went to the restroom after receiving a nod from her mother.

When Irene arrived at the toilet, she continued to walk around with a restless face until she finally came to a halt in front of a large mirror in the toilet room. Irene was trying to keep her breath and nervousness. Even though she has a beautiful and charming face, Irene has never had a boyfriend in her life, and she has never dated the opposite sex, so tonight's meeting made her look very nervous.

Irene stepped out of the toilet again and walked over to her parents at the table, not wanting to keep Mom and Dad waiting. Irene was surprised when seeing her mother's best friend's family had arrived.

Irene took a deep breath to calm herself down as she continued walking.

"Ah, that's my daughter Irene," Hara said as she noticed Irene approaching them.

Sharon and her husband turned their heads, “Wow, your daughter is so beautiful!” Sharon praised Hara.

"I'm sorry for the long wait," Irene said, attempting to sit back in her chair with a faint smile.

Irene was shocked when she was about to take a seat, she accidentally looked at the man sitting in front of her.
