Cameron ignored the blood dripping from his hand and tried to run toward me.

But I took two steps back and avoided his embrace.

1When I woke up, Jack Spencer, who was supposed to be by my bedside, had long disappeared. After enduring the sympathetic glances from the nearby medical staff and returning home alone, I saw Jack enjoying a romantic candlelight dinner with Joanna Lister. When he saw me return, Jack quickly stood up.“Honey, you’re back. Why didn’t you tell me you were being discharged? I would’ve come to pick you up. You’ve been through such a major surgery—it must’ve been so hard on you. I promise from now on, Cameron and I will take good care of you!”His gaze was as gentle as ever, but I suddenly felt completely drained.Beneath the mask he wore was nothing but fake affection.I ignored him and instead looked at Joanna, who sat there acting like the lady of the house.“Why is she here?”Jack cleared his throat and explained, “She’s here for Cameron of course. He only remembers Joanna now. The doctor also said the more they interact, the better it is for his recovery.”Just then, Cameron—m

Hurry up and fix it!”I looked deeply into his eyes and calmly told him, “Go ask Joanna to fix it for you.”With that, I walked toward the balcony, intending to get some new clothes.Bu
