Chapter 14 - Hopes and Fears

Selene shifted restlessly on the bed. Another nightmare broke her from sleep, but this time she fought her pursuer, but could not defeat him. After all, this dream was better than the old one, because Selene knew who was persecuting her, and thanks to recently revealed power, she didn't feel so vulnerable.

Selene opened her eyes slowly and looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table - it was showing three in the morning. Selene was afraid of what destiny had in store for her, and was afraid that, despite all her skills, she would lose the fight against Alistair.
