Chapter 13

She walked over to the girl and whispered, “Pretty sister, that’s enough.”

The girl frowned. “He nearly strangled you to death, yet you’re interceding for him?”

“That’s not it.” Cecelia merely did not want to make the situation bigger than it already was. She quietly glanced at the cougar who now had her mouth covered out of shock and whispered to the girl once again, “It’s better to offend a gentleman than offend a petty person. I’m afraid that they will cause you trouble in the future.”

“Ha, them?” The girl’s gaze was filled with disdain. Nevertheless, she released Hawick.

The girl forcefully swung her hand that was holding Hawick’s leg, and Hawick was thrown off-balance to the ground. Hawick might have been a shameless person, however, he had been bullied by a petite girl. Under such circumstances, even he had no dignity to remain in the area.

The cougar placed all her grudges on Cecelia’s tab.

She glared viciously at Cecelia.

‘Don’t ever fall into my hands, otherwise, I will make sure your death becomes reality!’

The cougar suppressed the hatred in her heart and went to help Hawick up.

She did not abandon Hawick because she liked him a little. A big part of it was because he was good in bed and could please her very well.

Just as they were about to leave, Cecelia called out, “Hawick...”

Hawick was too frightened to stop and thus, he whispered to the cougar, “Quick, let’s hurry.”

He was afraid that Cecelia would ask the girl to do even worse things. He did not want to lose his other leg as well.

Cecelia noticed that he was picked up his pace and frowned. “Hey, don’t go yet, I need to speak to you.”

Hawick pretended not to hear anything; his speed did not decrease even though he only had one good leg left. The two were about to reach their car when Cecelia decided to give chase.

However, the girl pulled Cecelia back and gently said to Hawick who was in the midst of opening the car door, “Looks like your ears need treatment as well.”

Like a robot that had been switched off, Hawick abruptly stopped moving.

He gulped before slowly turning around to face the girl with a pleasant look on his face. “Madame, what is it that you want me to do?”

“Scram here.”

Hawick had no choice but to drag his broken leg back to the same place he had run away from earlier.

Cecelia was speechless.

‘I should learn a few tricks as well, otherwise, nobody will take me seriously.’

The girl jabbed Cecelia who was lost in her thoughts. “What are you staring blankly into space for? Don’t you have something to say to him?”

“Oh, oh, oh!” Cecelia looked at Hawick with a blank expression on her face. “Return my bank card to me!”

Hawick’s gaze started to shift all over the place. He had not expected Cecelia to ask him for it in public. “Bank card? What bank card?”

“Don’t try to act clueless. You said that I was clumsy and were worried that I would lose my bank card, so you said you would keep my bank card safe on my behalf. Now that we’ve broken up, you had better give it back to me!”

All those years, aside from financially supporting Hawick, saved money for herself by spending wisely. However, when Hawick found out about it, he gave various excuses to get his hands on Cecelia’s card.

At that time, Cecelia was unaware of Hawick’s true colors and did not suspect anything. Hawick kept her card, but she still deposited money into the account each month.

Although the money inside the account was not much, for a person like her who was now jobless, she could buy some time with those savings if she was still unable to find a job.

Most importantly, she had a husband to feed. Therefore, Cecelia wanted to ask Hawick for the card.
