She removed the phone from her ear, covered it with her other hand, and screamed in excitement.

“He proposed!”

After a moment, she adjusted herself and placed the phone back to her ear.

“Mr. Morel, I’m sorry, but I think you’re only making this decision out of anger. I don’t think you really mean that.”

“Lily, I know I hurt you in the past for what I did, and I’m sorry for that. But I want you to know that my decision to marry you is not out of anger.”

“What if she comes back? Besides, how can you propose to me while talking through my sister’s phone?”

“If she comes back, I don’t care. All I want right now is for you to marry me, and I promise you won’t regret it. But if you don’t want to answer because it’s your sister’s phone, no problem.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he immediately ended the call.

“I am already your future wife, Mr. Jonathan Morel,” Lily said to herself as she placed her sister’s phone down.

At that same moment, her own phone started ringing. The call was from Mine.

Without wasting time, she answered it.

“So what do you say now, Lily Jones? Will you forgive me and marry me?” Jonathan asked the moment she picked up the phone.

“Yes, Jonathan. I will marry you,” Lily answered.

“Good. See you at 9 a.m. in the morning,” Jonathan said.

“See you too… husband mine,” Lily replied, and Jonathan ended the call.

Checking the time, she realized it was already 2 a.m.

“Which means I have five more hours to get my beauty rest,” Lily said as she placed her phone aside and went to sleep.

By 6 a.m., Lily was already awake. She went to the bathroom to clean herself up.

Thirty minutes later, she stepped out wearing her bathroom robe when she heard a knock on her door. She walked to the door and opened it.

“Good morning, Dad. How did you sleep?” she asked her father, who was standing outside her door.

“I’m good, sweetie. These people were sent by the Morel family to dress you up for the wedding,” her father said while pointing at the makeup artist and stylists standing beside him.

“Greetings, ma’am,” they all said the moment Lily looked at them.

She simply nodded her head.

“You all can go inside and wait for her. She’ll be there shortly,” Mr. Jones said.

Lily stepped aside so they could enter.

They all walked inside carrying their equipment. The bridal stylist also stepped in with a large valise. Inside it were various wedding gowns prepared for Lily.

After they had all entered the room, her father gently pulled her aside.

“Dad, is everything okay?” she asked, noticing the worried expression on his face.

“Nothing is okay. What are we going to tell the Morel family when they see you at the altar instead of your sister?”

“Dad, is that what’s troubling you?”

“Of course! Am I not supposed to worry? What if Jonathan refuses to marry you and cancels the wedding? That will be an insult to our family’s reputation,” Mr. Jones said anxiously.

“Don’t worry, Dad. I will never allow that to happen. Besides, I have good news for you.”

“Really? What is the good news?” her father asked.

“Come on, Dad. Why don’t you try guessing first?” she said playfully.

“Sweetheart, you know I’m not good at guessing. I’m good at business, not guessing,” her father replied.

“Just tell me instead of making an old man like me guess.”

“Fine. If you don’t want to guess… what I wanted to tell you is that Mr. Jonathan Morel called me yesterday.”

“What? He called you? What did he say? Did he cancel the wedding?” Mr. Jones asked in one breath.

“Calm down, Dad. None of what you’re thinking happened.”

“He said that Ivy sent him a message canceling the marriage between them.”

“What? She did that?”

“Yes, Dad. According to Mr. Jonathan. And he also said that he couldn’t let today pass without getting married. It wouldn’t be good news for his family.”

“That’s true… and for our family as well,” Mr. Jones said. “Is that all he said?”

“Not really. He proposed to me. He asked me to marry him.”

“He did that?”

“Yes, Dad. He proposed to me.”

“Thank God! That means we don’t need to worry anymore.”

“Yes, Dad. That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to make you understand.”

“If that’s the case, go inside and get ready quickly. Don’t forget the mass starts at 9 a.m.”

“I won’t, Dad.”

“Alright, sweetie. See you later,” her father said before leaving.

Lily walked back into her room where the stylists were waiting.

“Ma’am, please we need to start now so we can finish on time,” the makeup artist said.

Lily walked to the chair beside the mirror and sat down. The makeup artist immediately began working.

“Ma’am, you’re already very beautiful, so I won’t need to do much,” the makeup artist said while applying the makeup.

Twenty minutes later, the makeup artist finished his work, and the hairstylist took over.

Her hair was styled into an elegant bridal updo. The soft, glossy strands were gently swept away from her face and gathered into a delicate low bun at the back of her head. The bun was loosely arranged, allowing a few curled strands to fall naturally around her temples and neckline, giving her a romantic and effortless look.

Tiny pearl pins and crystal hair accessories were carefully placed throughout the bun.

At the front, her hair was parted slightly to the side, framing her face with soft waves that highlighted her features. Combined with the makeup, it made her look completely different.

After that, the bridal stylist took over.

When she removed the wedding gown from the valise, everyone in the room fell silent, including Lily.

With the help of the stylist, Lily wore the gown.

The gown was a stunning floor-length piece made of soft white satin and delicate lace. The fitted bodice hugged her figure beautifully, flowing smoothly into the rest of the elegant dress. Intricate embroidery and tiny sparkling beads decorated the fabric, giving it a soft shimmer. A long, graceful train trailed behind her, making the gown look timeless, elegant, and perfect for a bride.

The stylist then helped her put on silver diamond-covered heels, along with diamond earrings, a bracelet, and a beautiful small handbag.

With that, she was almost ready.

They handed her a bouquet of flowers.

Just then, her father’s voice was heard from outside the door.

“Sweetheart, hurry up! We’re late. I’ll go ahead with the others. Come quickly!”

“Alright, Dad!” she shouted from inside.

Moments later, his fading footsteps could be heard.

“Are we done now? Can we go?” Lily asked the stylists.

“Actually, ma’am, there is one more thing,” another stylist said.

“What’s that?” Lily asked.

The stylist brought out her veil.

The sheer white veil was secured just beneath her bun.

“Now, ma’am, you are good to go.”
