Chapter 39: The Crucifixion
ADRASTOS’ REMARKS appeared to ring hollow in Mario’s ears. Who would want to be nailed to a cross? His gaze roamed throughout the room, and he discovered a towering wooden cross only encircled him with a deceased person nailed on it, and the bottom of the chamber was covered with various parts of the human body and buckets of bloodshed.
When Mario saw the appearance of the people with their corpses still in the mid-air, he understood all of their sufferings was not a laughing matter. It coated their whole bodies in blood, and there were remnants of the whip.
He took a deep breath and swallowed. They appear to have been tormented before their death.
Mario’s mind is having a dilemma digesting everything that has occurred. He came here because he knew he intended to commit suicide. He knew he’d die the moment he signed up for the application and stepped into the LV Building.
