Chapter 4

Olivia was shocked

Olivia: what

Ash(?!): My associates and I have been looking for a hybrid, a powerful one that knows how to fight, whether it's in its human form or in animal form

Ash(?!): The tournament is a hybrid one

Olivia: Is the AAH behind that tournament?

Ash(?!): Possibly, this is what we've been trying to figure out

Olivia: I f*cking knew something was up about that fishy organization. It always felt so fake and strange

Ash(?!): You are right. there has been a significant rise in the disappearance of hybrids, and it syncs with the date on which the tournament is supposed to occur

Ash(?!): It also syncs with how active the AAH has been recently, especially with older hybrids

Olivia agreed to the statement.

Olivia: There have always been hybrids disappearances

Ash(?!): I know, and this is what we're trying to figure out

Ash(?!): Participating in the said tournament will help us forge new relationships as well as give us an inside eye on what is happening. You would also help us by gaining information through the hybrids you would fight against and/ or with

Ash(?!): We have been struggling to find out who is behind all of this, not the tournament solely

Olivia: I have questions

Ash(?!): Go ahead

Olivia: Who participates in those tournaments?

Ash(?!): Hybrid traffickers, mob bosses, possibly the AAH

Olivia: Are you a hybrid trafficker?

Ash(?!): I'm not. The opposite actually

Ash(?!): I'm trying to help them get away from there and attain the freedom they deserve and should have like regular humans. Let's just say it's complicated to achieve so without dipping inside this underground, illegal world.

Olivia: You did more than just dipping

Ash(?!): I was born there

Olivia: Why do you care about hybrids

Ash(?!): That's none of your concern

Olivia: See, the opposite, actually

Olivia: How am I supposed to be assured that you are telling me the truth and not trying to manipulate me because you want to do precisely what you are saying you're trying to prevent?

Olivia: I don't know you

Ash(?!): You will have to take my word for it

Olivia: I'll do you one better. When is the tournament?

Ash(?!): In two months

Olivia: Great! We can get to know each other until then :)

Ash(?!): Pardon?

Olivia: Do those mundane things humans do: talking, bonding, learning the other's favorite color

Olivia: I'm not about to dive into a hybrid tournament (that I'd probably win) without knowing who I'd be mingling with and if you can be trusted or not

Ash(?!): But would you be willing to participate?

Olivia: If it can help the cause you want to protect, perhaps

I'll need more information about you, your associates, that tournament, how it works, and how exactly joining it would be helpful because, again, you've been exceedingly vague so far

Ash(?!): I could force you to participate. What will you do then?

Olivia: I'd love to see you try... I'd probably break your goddamn jaw before you lay a finger on me? How about that?

Ash(?!): You are interesting

Olivia: Thanks, I know. Also, you are threatening me (again) doesn't help your case.

Ash(?!): I have been testing you

Olivia: That I noticed. I'm not an idiot

Olivia: What are the results?

Ash(?!): You are an infuriating brat that cannot, for the life of her, shut her mouth even when she should. You seem reckless, teetering on the edge of stupidly so but not quite because you're smart, surprisingly. I'd say something is missing in your life. I'm not sure what exactly, perhaps an excitement you never found, but something is, and it can be the only reason why you would speak this way to a mob boss that could very well ruin your life in the snap of a finger. You also appear fearless, but not entirely so, which is good. You're confident as well, but astutely so, I believe. Although this is up to change since I barely know you.

Ash(?!): Oh, I almost forgot

Ash(?!): Have I mentioned how much of a brat and smartass you are?

Olivia was speechless; she came to Mia's room.

“What am I supposed to reply to this” Olivia showed Mia the texts sent by Ash. “He nailed me so hard my chest hurt.”

Mia looked at it and said, “I'm so lost with social media s*x slang...what does nail mean? Railed? Did Ash rail you? Also, it's a bit worrisome your chest hurts because of that.”

Olivia looked at Mia as if she had insulted a dog “Mia, for the love of God, be normal ONCE in your life.”

“Says the one who purposefully pissed inside a car,” Mia said mockingly.

“That was warranted. Shut up,” Olivia was pissed.

“And you wonder why you're still unadopted,” Mia snorted.

Olivia smirked. “Jokes on you. I may have found an adopter, he may be a mob boss, but I'm willing to stoop that low.”

“Olivia, don't,” Mia panicked.

Olivia just smiled at Mia and when to her room in Mia’s apartment.

Olivia decides to reply to Asher in a tamed way but still slightly edgy after that uncalled burn.

Olivia: You have a couple of times, yes, Including twice in your last three texts

Ash(?!): I'm starting to think that I should have said it a third time to really hit the nail on the head

Olivia: I mean, if it'd be done in a way to try and have me stop behaving the way I am, it'd have reversed wanted results, I'll be honest

Olivia: Being called brat is a compliment I take pride in

Ash(?!): Pride could have you killed

Olivia: Sound's fun!

Olivia: Don't actually kill me, though. I'm sorry. I swear I'm trying to behave, but you make it difficult with all that mob boss aura you're oozing through my phone.

Oh my god, what am I doing? Olivia wanted to go to Mia and ask her to stop her. But the way she left after mocking Mia, she decided against it.

Asher started to get headaches from taking to this bratty hybrid. "What am I getting myself into with this hybrid... this isn't going according to the plan."

Steven, who was sitting across from Asher, looked up and asked, "Is it that bad?"

Asher shook his head. "It's not bad per se, just unexpected," Asher texted back to the bratty hybrid.

Ash(?!): You lack self-preservation skills

Olivia: Yes and no

Olivia: I said I was freaking out. I still am.

Ash(?!): We should speak again tomorrow when your head is clear

Olivia: No, let's continue talking now. we barely scratched the surface, and you didn't even tell me if you agreed to the whole learning each other part

Olivia: Hello?

Olivia: You can't leave like that. HELLO?

Olivia: Are you for real?

Olivia: You typical asshole mob boss

Olivia: I'm joking. Don't kill me

Olivia: I'm only half joking. I hate lying.

Olivia: Okay, so after some calculations, the whole truth would be that I'm 29% joking. Look [photo attached]

Asher looked at the incoming messages with a frown. He will not talk to her today. He is more exhausted than he already was after talking to the hybrid.

"What happened?" Steven asked.

"She actually made an equation of how much she was joking and sent me a photo of it. And now I'm thinking of checking if she calculated wrong or not," Asher said.

"Why don't you?" Steven said with an unknown smile in his eyes.

Looks like Olivia was good at math, as the calculations were correct when Asher checked them.

Olivia couldn't believe that Ash had left like that, but she was thrilled that she was talking to the mob boss. The conversation was terrifying, exciting, and fun. But suddenly, something crossed her mind, and she was panicking. "Does the mob boss have hackers in his gang? What should I do if he does and they hack into AAH and look up my file in the database."

"What would mob boss do if he finds out I pissed inside an adopter's car? Oh my god."

Olivia should not let the mob boss misunderstand her

Olivia: I'm assuming you have hackers in your gang, and I just want to say that if you saw about me, huh

Olivia: Releasing myself inside one of my previous adopter's cars, I did it because he refused to let me sit in the front, among other things. What I'm saying is that it was provoked urination endeavor

Olivia: anyway, goodbye, mob boss Ash. Made my day more exciting even if it was frightening, and I probably wouldn't sleep tonight since I'll assume you want me dead, haha, bye!

Asher looked at the message and thought if he should have been in a different profession, like a gardener or something…
