We all stopped at her mother-in-law’s cell as the woman continued ranting, “Woman, you have no idea what kind of shit storm you have started.” Bonnie shook her head, “I didn’t start anything. Your son started this shit storm, when he chose to abuse Crystal and me. We have tons of protection from all of you. I will not put up with any more shit from any of you.” Koda stood in front of the woman and stated very clearly, “You will be charged with assault and attempted murder. The punishment for that can be anywhere from twenty-five years in the dungeons to death. I would be very careful what you say to Bonnie. Not only do you have witnesses, but I also have cameras to use as evidence against you.” The woman turned bright red with anger, “That fucking bitch stopped cooking and cleaning up after us. That’s why her mate beat the shit out of her last time. I know because I told him to do it.”

Shifting into a bear wasn’t nearly as bad as shifting to a wolf for the first time. Maybe it was because I had already become accustomed to the feeling of my bones breaking and rearranging themselves. When the shift first started, I felt someone pick me up.
