Cassie’s POV

“Here you go.” I grinned as I handed Mrs Price her credit card.

She just made a purchase of three of my paintings, rather expensive ones. I couldn’t be more happy.

“What a lovely start to the day.” Kelly said as she looked at the receipt.

“I know right?” I beamed, “The business is slowly picking up, Kelly. I feel like this was not a wrong move now.”

“Well, you ought to give it some time before you see anything fruitful.”

“I know, but I wonder if it is going to be sustainable in the long run.” I said, “You see, things were different when I started the studio.”

“Yes, you did not have a baby waiting to come out.” She said, “Speaking of which, how’s the morning sickness?”

“It’s awful. I can’t keep anything in, Kelly. Thankfully, the doctor gave me some medication for it, and it did get better after taking that.”

“Oh, yes. You went for a check up last week, right? How did it go?”

I shrugged, “Enzo was being Enzo. He still hates me for everything.”

“Oh, come on. Don’

“I came to get you, Cassie.” He sighed, giving my shoulders a gentle squeeze. My eyes looked at his hands on me, I instantly shuddered away. Taking a step back, I mumbled, “Excuse me?” “Don’t do this.” He said, “This is not right, Cassie. You cannot marry him.” “Are you seriously listening to yourself?” Kelly interjected, “What the hell, Calvin!” He fixed her with a glare, “You stay out of this, Kelly. This is none of your business.” “Well, my sister’s wedding is none of your business too.” Liza said, “So I suggest you get the hell out of here.” “No, I’m not going anywhere without Cassie.” He said, and reached for my hand, “Cassie, I’m sorry. For the billionth time, I made a mistake. But I want you back now. I want us back. Don’t marry him, Cassie. He’s going to be a mistake.” “The biggest mistake I ever made was falling in love with you.” I said, “What made you think you could just come here and take me back into your life? Move the hell on, Calvin. We’re over. I’m getting mar

“Enzo?” I said, rubbing sleep off my eyes. “What are you doing here?” “I came to see you.” He said, climbing onto the bed. “You left so abruptly this morning.” “I was taken away,” I said, yawning. And then, I frowned, “Wait, are you drunk?” “Yup.” He said, and sighed at my unimpressed look, “Please. It’s my bachelor’s party.” “I didn’t say anything.” I chuckled. Ray knocked on the door then, “Hurry up, Enzo.” “Give me a minute,” He said loudly before turning his head to look at me, “Listen, I probably won’t see you until tomorrow evening. I have tons of work and you’ll have to head to the tailor by yourself. Your wedding dress is ready but it might need some last minute alterations.” “Okay?” I said, blinking, “You came all the way here to tell me that?” “Yeah,” He mumbled and leaned down to place a kiss on my lips, “I missed you. I wanted to see.” I smiled, “You’ve seen me now.” “Yeah, it’s never enough.” He sighed, stealing another kiss from me, “Love you. Bye.” “Wait,” I

In the late hour of the afternoon, the yacht made a halt on the other side of the region, allowing us girls to look around the place. The best part was that this area had a great local shopping scene, and we instantly infiltrated the streets.Although I visited this place quite a few times, I never really had the chance to experience their street life, and to do it with my girls was an endearing experience. Liza and Melissa hit it off instantly, and quite surprisingly, so for the better part of the day, they gave each other company. While shopping, it was Phoebe that gave me company. “This has got to be the best wedding weekend ever.” Phoebe mused as she walked by my side, “But, knowing Enzo, I am not surprised. The man is an expert in this field.” “Really? What makes you say that?” I asked, curious. “Oh, Enzo has always been like this. Even back in college. He threw the best parties, and his surprises were the best. Nobody hated them. You’re a lucky girl in that regard, there’s n

She shook her head, “Well, not really history. But Raymond always had a thing for me.”“What?” I shrieked, “But you were Enzo’s girlfriend.” “Yeah, that’s why he never made a move back then.” She said, “But since Enzo is out of the picture now, thanks to you, Raymond is trying again. And since I could use the distraction…” “You’re okay with playing with his feelings?” She rolled her eyes, “Relax, it’s not that serious. We’ve established that it’s just sex.” “Then why were you worried about Enzo finding out about it?” “I’m not worried about Enzo. I couldn’t give two shits about what he thought.” She siad, “I just don’t want the world to know who I’m fucking right now.” My brows went up. So she cared about what other people thought about her after all. Funny, since I always assumed she didn’t care much for privacy. She had been quite flamboyant all her life, and very flashy. Maybe she wasn’t all like how I imagined her to be. “This thing with Raymond… is it going to be a one tim

Before Raymond could spot me, I quickly retreated up the stairs. I watched as he quietly went down and headed to his own room as though nothing happened. As though he didn’t just spend the entire night with my sister! My feet quickly took me back to our room, eager to share my news with Enzo. I didn’t know how he would react to this. Was this better than knowing it wasn’t Sara and Mark who were in that room last night? I wasn’t sure. Before I could get to the door, a tiny figure blocked my path. To my surprise, it was Melissa.“Mel?” I said, “When did you come?” “Just five minutes ago,” She said, grabbing my wrist. “What are you doing?” I asked. “Keeping you away from your husband.” She said, dragging me with her toward the opposite direction. I glanced back at our bedroom with longing, eager to meet Enzo. “But why?” “Starting today, you are not allowed to see your husband until your wedding.” “What?” I shrieked, my heart sinking further into the pit of my stomach. “Yup, you

By the time we finished, cleaned up and got dressed, it was almost two in the night. We walked back in the same path that we took earlier, hoping that our absence didn’t alert anyone. “We better hurry.” Enzo mumbled, “We have to get up at atleast seven o’clock tomorrow.” “My back is burning.” I said, hurrying back toward the property. “Why did we think this was a good idea?” Enzo laughed, “I hope you don’t get a rash or something.” “Let’s pray. Because my wedding dress is backless.” “I’ll lend you my suit.” “Ha-ha.” I said, “If I can’t wear my dream wedding dress, then I’m calling off the ceremony.” “No, you’re not.” he said sternly, and almost fearfully.“I said I’ll call off the ceremony, not the wedding.” I said. “You’re calling off neither.” He grumbled behind me. “God, I was just joking.” I said, rolling my eyes. “Why do we have to be up so early tomorrow anyway?” Enzo remained silent on that, and I realized that it was going to be yet another surprise for me. At this p

“Your turn darling.” He said, reaching for the strap on my shoulders. I was wearing a summer dress whose straps were tied on either of my shoulders. I watched as Enzo undid one of them and then the other, making my silk dress fall at my ankles. His eyes darkened as he took my body in, definitely not expecting that I would be all naked inside. “Did you plan this?” “Maybe.” I said with a smirk. “Consider this a thanks for everything you’ve done so far.” “Oh, not so soon.” he said and grabbed my hand. And then, he gently tugged me into the water with him. The otherwise warm water felt a bit chilly as it rose up my thighs. By the time it reached my chest, I let out a shudder. Enzo turned around to smile at me in amusement. “Cold?” I nodded, wrapping my arms around his neck when the water reached my shoulder. Enzo could still stand tall and the water was covering just half his abdomen. However, to reach my height, he bent his knees a bit. “It will get better.” he said, wrapping his

That evening, a few more members joined us for dinner. Luke and Phoebe had come, along with Raymond and Kelly. Hank and Tara would be arriving tomorrow and so would Melissa. “I still don’t buy it,” Kelly mumbled into my ear at the dinner table. She was eyeing my sister who was sipping on one of those disgusting green smoothies people drink while chatting away with Raymond. They were apparently old friends, thanks to the time she was dating Enzo. “Buy what?” I asked, pulling my hand away from Emmy’s mouth as she tried to bite on it. “That Liza is on board.” Kelly said, “I mean, let’s be real. She lovessss Enzo. And it’s Liza we’re talking about. When has she given up something for you?” “Enzo is not hers to give up.” ““Don’t be silly, Cassie. You know she doesn’t have the maturity to see things that way.” She said, “Okay, let’s assume she’s grateful you helped her out with the whole sex tape thing. She said her thanks, and probably gave you her blessing. But coming to your wedding

Cassie’s POV A week later, Enzo surprised me with a road trip. “What?” I asked him, unsure if I heard him right. It was hard to believe that this busy man had the time and energy for a long road trip. “You heard me.” He said, “I packed everything for you and Emmy. You most likely won’t need anything beyond this.” “But I have work-” “I spoke to your team at the office, they don’t need you for a couple of days. Moreover, it’s the weekend. You can afford to not work like normal people.” “That’s rich, coming from you.” He gave me a smile, “I’m redeeming myself now, aren’t I?” I shrugged and went back to scrolling instagram on my phone. “Cassie?”“Yeah?” I said, my eyes still on my phone. “We’re leaving in ten minutes, so if you may put your phone aside?” “In what?” I said and sat up straight. “You’re joking.” He gave me a flat look, “Does it look like I am?” He gave me exactly ten minutes to use the loo and pack my handbag. By the time I locked the door and headed down, he st
