I stared at the computer screen in horror. It was filled with red errors.

I scrolled through my work in disbelief. This was the worst feedback I have ever received. I can’t be that bad.. Until.. I realized I was. What was this? I had never made these many mistakes before.

Right then, my telephone buzzed beside my computer. When I took the call, I realized that it was Patrick calling me.

“Meet me in my office.”

Shit. “O-okay.”

I quickly went to his office. I knocked on the door and pushed it open. When I entered, Patrick was looking into a file and didn’t bother to look up and acknowledge me. I clea

  • Lost And Found By The Billionaire   273. Let's go, Cassie

Cassie’s POV I was pacing around in my room, frantically dialling every number I knew. I wanted to do something, anything to help the situation, but I didn’t know how. Enzo had long stopped receiving my calls and now Grandpa and Franco were also not taking them. I had no idea what everybody was up to, and I hated being kept in the dark .The worst part was I couldn’t tell this to anybody. What would they do? For all I knew, I could be putting them under risk too.A heavy storm broke out outside, pouring down heavily and that could only mean bad news. “Bloody hell.” I muttered to myself, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. Right then, I heard a sound from outside. It was the sound of something breaking. I sat up straight on reflex. Who could it be? Was it Enzo? Hopeful, I got up from the bed and walked to the door. I was just about to open it when I heard footsteps approaching. Slow, soft steps. As though they didn’t want me to hear their sound. And that was when I found myse

  • Lost And Found By The Billionaire   272. Just the same way

This time, Kent asked me to meet in an abandoned cafe in the peripheries of the city. That demand should have alerted me, but the nature of his business was such that he could not choose places that were easily accessible to the police. The next command was to come alone, unarmed. To obey his orders, I did drive there alone myself, but I wasn’t foolish enough to go there unarmed. I had my gun on me. And thirdly, I got those damn files he asked for. I watched as Kent scrutinized them closely, reading every damn word as though he didn’t trust me. Good. Because the feeling was mutual. “That’s good work, DeLuca.” He said, surprising me. Smirking, he closed the files, “I knew I could trust you to save my ass.” I swirled the whiskey in my glass as I gazed up at him, “Wish I could say the same about you.”His brows cocked up, “That’s not very nice of you to say, Enzo.” He said, “You know I’m helping you.” “Are you?” I asked, “Because so far, you haven’t gotten me a single lead to dest

  • Lost And Found By The Billionaire   271. Don't hold your breath

Just like that, I let him go.Nothing about his association with Kent seemed right to me. When I sold the studio to him, I was glad that I was losing an enemy. It was supposed to be a one-time deal and he would be out of our lives forever. But meeting him in Switzerland was unexpected. Him approaching us didn’t seem altruistic, and he had a hidden motive, but I was glad that Enzo steered me away from him.But now, it was surprising that Enzo was working with him himself. It was the last thing I wanted in the world, and if what Grandpa said was right, then I would be much more comfortable trusting his men than Kent Rover. After all, we knew nothing about him.Enzo left an hour ago. He hasn’t answered my texts or called me back since then. I knew that he was going on some sort of operation that was too dangerous for me to know. He had a gun, for God’s sake, and I didn’t know what he would use it for. I hated to be in a position where I would need a gun to defend myself if things got out

While Grandpa’s accusation made absolutely no sense, it was Enzo’s guilty silence that shocked me. As I turned toward him, I noticed that he was looking at Grandpa with a blank face, no hint of surprise on his face. He saw this coming. “Isn’t that true?” Grandpa asked, “Or is my secretary just got things wrong?” “He’s not wrong.” Came Enzo’s slow reply. “What mob are you talking about?” I asked, “You work with the mafia, Enzo?” “He’s referring to Kent Rover. The man you sold the studio to.” “You sold the studio to him?” Grandpa boomed, “So both of you are doing business with him now?” “No.” We said in unison. Sharing a glance with him, I said, “I did not know he was part of a mob back then. And it was supposed to be a one time thing. I had no idea you were in touch with him, Enzo.” “I had no choice.” He said, “Dalton wouldn’t stop his attacks and no matter what I did, I couldn't predict his next move and stop him. So I had to take Kent up on his offer to help me.” “You cou

“Hi, Cassandra.” he said, peeling off his sunglasses, “Can I have a word with you?” I turned around to glance at Raymond who was already making his way toward me. Hesitantly, I stepped back. This man was always bad news. “What do you want?” I asked. “No need to look so scared, dear.” he said, stepping closer. “I just need to talk to you. Can we go somewhere private?” “No.” I suddenly heard Enzo’s voice behind me. Turning around, I realized that he was standing right behind me. “Enzo?” I said, “When did you-” “Leave, Franco.” He said, “Right now.” Franco’s jaw clenched in anger, and he remained unfazed. “Trust me, you want to talk to me.” He said, “You’re being a fool.” “It’s money that you want right?” he said, “That’s why you approached Cassie that day? Give me a number and I’ll send it to you right away.” I widened my eyes in surprise. How did Enzo find out about that? I forgot to even mention it to him. Wait, is that why he was so off the other night? He refused to talk t

  • Lost And Found By The Billionaire   268. Say hi to my sister

Cassie’s POV I heard the windows open with a bang as the stormy air rushed in. “Shit,” I muttered to myself, snapping awake. I accidentally fell asleep in Emmy’s room that night, leaving the windows all open in the dining hall. Tiptoeing myself outside, I rushed to close the windows. There was heavy downpour in the city, and given the recent circumstances, the rumbling in the night sky frightened me. If there was one thing that all those psycho crime thrillers taught me, it’s that this is when the protagonists get attacked. The plot fit perfectly. I was all alone, my husband was stuck at work and there was no one else to protect my baby. If Trent Dalton wanted to take his revenge, now was the right time. Oh, never mind. How could I forget the security outside our building and also right outside the door, guarding us? They wouldn’t let him in. As if they heard my thoughts, the door unlocked and in came one of them. “Mr DeLuca just told me that he would be late.” He said, “He sai
