Dark clouds hovered over the Lakes. The wolves fought as time slipped away like a thief from their hands. Alice stood by the lake, watching it change color from black to red.

“It’s bleeding,” she cried.

There was so little they could do at this time. Lina could only watch, tears streaming down her face.

“We are losing our wolves, aren’t we?” she demanded, but Alice’s silence spoke louder than words.

Today was indeed a day never to forget.

Alpha Rogan could see his men fall one after the other, their links barely holding on. They needed the lake. Darkness was fast approaching, but the joint army of Raven and Snowmoon showed no signs of retreat.

“Come on, Rogan. You should spare your men the trouble and surrender now. We all know you will be dead in no time,” Alpha Mark taunted.

Alpha Rogan felt his words sting deep within. He was wounded and poisoned. The blades and claws of the Raven Wolves and Snowmoon carried traces of silver.

“We fight to the last drop of our blood. We are not cowa

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 56

Frederick had been avoiding his father, or rather, the latter had been avoiding him. The scandal was still on everyone’s lips, and it was becoming more disturbing by the day. Fredrick sat in his office, stressed out. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and his hair was left unattended. It was the hundredth call to his father, and still, there was no response. Mrs. Camfrey wouldn’t take his call, and Mark wouldn’t stop harassing him at every given chance. Frederick was fed up with all the secrecy and the blind eye.His father refused to open up to the media, and his supposed mother was doing so much damage control. She was in front of the media almost every day with stories of Fredrick being an abusive kid and mistreating her son. Everything was not only affecting his privacy but was beginning to take a toll on the company, and he was not ready to lose money in this godforsaken scheme. Emilia wasn’t having it easy either. The house was thick with tension, and no one got in—but th

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 55

It's been weeks since the scandal that broke the realm. Fredrick has been doing even better than before with all the support. Surprisingly, the words of Emelia had gone viral, and so many saw things from her perspective. Mrs. Camfrey tried as much as she could to control the outcome, but the deed had been done, and so many were digging; she feared it was only a matter of time before the truth caught up with all of them. While she had steadfastly refused to bully and mistreat Fredrick, videos and pictures were beginning to surface disproving her claims. Never had she thought someone was on the lookout, but now the situation was far out of their control. While everyone was concerned about the Fredrick Camfrey scandal, someone was out looking out for herself. Her father had long cut off Clair. His cards no longer worked, and her account was dry. No matter how often she called her mother for help, it ended with the same response.“You have to be responsible now, Clair. Your father won't g

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 54

It was midday when the papers arrived. Mrs. Camfrey had been watching the net and the door all morning, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Clair was gone, and the lawyer had brought the divorce papers, but that was the least of her worries. Mark had not returned home since his last outburst. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was happening, and Mark not taking his calls only made her anxiety grow by the minute. The beauty of the flowers in the orchard did not captivate her attention; she was too worried to sit or stay still. From a distance, an omega hastily walked over to her, handing her the day’s paper. Mrs. Camfrey feared the worst as she took it. The front page had a picture of Mark and Fredrick, and it was nothing pleasant to read about.“Oh... the cat is finally out of the bag,” she said, tossing the paper onto the table. At the same time, Mr. Camfrey was in his office scrolling through the internet. It was an uproar; everything was happening too fast, and w

The sun was up when Emilia woke. She had slept in for the day and was already late for work, but it was worth it. Her conversation with Fredrick the previous night had been the best. She rose to her feet quickly and headed to the bathroom. She had a quick shower and was down in no time. Lina was still around; she had not left, and it did not bother her as much as it had done the previous days.On the dining table was a bouquet of white lilies. Emilia smiled, picking it up. She smelled it and then placed it in a vase before stepping out. Kelvin was there to take her to the office—not that other drivers couldn't, but she was aware he had hidden agendas of his own.“Good morning, Mrs. Fred,” he greeted, and Emilia just chuckled. It was about time he dropped the formalities.“If you have plans of sticking your object into my friend, then I think dropping the Mrs. will be a good idea. Just call me Emilia or Emi.”Kelvin laughed while putting on his seatbelt.“Is it that obvious?” he asked,

Mr. Camfrey had returned home, but the memories of his day played in his head like a broken record. “How did Mark come to know of Kelly?” he pounded, but no matter how many hours he dealt with the matter, he still could not wrap his hands around it. Frustrated, he quickly dashed out of his home office to the bed chambers of his wife.Mrs. Camfrey had not been herself all day. She feared for the safety of her son. Mark was rational, and for someone with a quick temper, she knew without doubt the newspapers would soon come in with everyone talking about the birth of Fredrick, which was the last thing they all wanted. But not seeing Mark in the pack mansion brought the worst fears to life.Seated out on her balcony, she sipped on her cold coffee. She was too tired and frustrated to call a maid to warm it up for her. She needed something to drift her mind away from the situation, and the coffee seemed to be doing the job. Her mind didn’t wander far when her door was suddenly slammed shut.

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 51

The day had gone by slowly for Mark, and soon he was back to the one place he hated most. Walking into the Alpha Mansion, he glanced around, searching for his wife. Clair had been in her room since she returned home from her father's mansion. The shock of his laying hands on her was still fresh in her mind. Despite Dama’s attempts to cheer her up, she couldn't bring herself to smile.Clair was in a world of her own. She could see everything crumble down at her feet. The fame was shifting underneath her; she could feel everything she had enjoyed all her life snatched away with no notice. Mark pushed open the door only to see his crying wife crammed on the floor. She looked nothing like the woman who had been flaunting her cheating habits in his face days ago. He did not like the idea of them sharing a room, but ever since her terrible scandal and her promiscuous escapades with Alpha Ruben, Luna and his mother had them share a room. Mark ignored her. If this were in the past, he would h

The lights were off when Fredrick walked into the room. He could hear her quiet sobs but couldn’t tell where they were coming from. At the foot of the bed sat Emilia. She couldn’t explain what had gotten into her—the tears flowed freely, and her heart felt unbearably heavy. She hated everything about what had just transpired downstairs.Lina knew everything about the man Emilia married. She could tell when it was his birthday, what he liked most, and what his favorite colors were. Emilia didn’t know any of that. She felt his steps nearing her, but she was too overwhelmed to react. Frederick sat down beside her. The room wasn’t completely dark—the moonlight streamed in, casting a soft glow in her direction. Her hair fell over her face, hiding her puffy, swollen eyes. Frederick’s fingers brushed the loose strands away. Despite her tears, she looked breathtaking.“Emi,” he whispered, gently caressing her flushed cheek. “What’s wrong?”Emilia sobbed harder at the sound of his voice. How c

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 41

Ever since Clair's little confrontation, Lina had not been herself. She didn’t like how swiftly the issue had been brushed aside and how Fredrick had stood by his wife. He was too soft on her—not ready to punish, which wasn’t like his usual self.“I thought he mentioned it was only a marriage of convenience?” Lina turned to Sally with a puzzled look. “Yes, he did say that at the beginning... but I’m not so sure anymore,” Sally replied, busy setting up the dining table for dinner. It was past eight o’clock, but, strangely, Fredrick had called to request dinner with his wife.“You know, I always thought I’d never see him marry—at least not for love,” Sally said, amused at how much had changed over the months.Lina didn’t share in her joy. She had always wanted Fredrick, but by putting business and her father’s company first, everyone had assumed it was strictly to strengthen each other's positions. But deep down, her heart yearned for him. She could barely go a day without thinking abo

  • Lost Her To My Brother    Chapter 48

Everything had been a mess since his defeat at Lakes. Now, Alpha of the pack, he had worked so hard to keep under control; Mark couldn't feel the bliss. He couldn’t help but think that the people wanted someone else, not him. It was easy to see the truth in their eyes and their words.“How do you do, Alpha? Will your elder brother be coming for the moon dance this year?” they asked more frequently than he could keep up with. The ride to the office was quick, yet everything felt shallow, and the days passed by like hallucinations. He had no beta, his wife was now known for her skills in other men’s beds, and his father wouldn’t cease reminding him of how much of a failure he had become.Mark didn’t mind the nasty comments thrown at him; he felt like an alpha without powers. His father wouldn’t let him handle even the bare minimum, and every time he asked, he would be reminded of how nasty his wife was and how his unsteady home would portray him to the people. Mark sighed as he stepped
