Chapter eight

               Johnny's POV

        It was another school day and I was set to resume school with all excitement. 

It's been days already that I have not mingled with my so-called friends and It seems I am not more really bordered about that as I used to be. 

I think I should focus on my girls and live my life as the saying goes" don't go where you're not needed".  

My brother Lyod had gone to work since 1:00am in the morning. He was called up for an emergency at the  hospital. I looked at my wardrobe to see the dress that would best suit me. After a lot of choosing and rejecting I decided to settle in my jean trousers and white shirt. I look  more handsome when I am in a shirt. No one has to  tell me that because I knew it already. I put on my air max and was set for school. I open my car with the remote so that the maid will know I am living already. I don't like telling her I am living. I feel like she is my superior anytime I do that. 

So I hopped into my car and left.  On my way I saw Clark and Fred  taking a taxi but I behaved as if I didn't even know them. They tried waving at me but I bluntly ignored them. 

I entered the school gate and parked my car at the student parking yard. As I was stepping out of my car, guess who I saw…..  Laura George. 

She looks so different today. Although she was still in the same dressing code as before, I decided to look beyond the clothes. This girl is naturally beautiful I must say. 

Hello Laura, I greeted her. 

Laura:: Hi John, it's you, how are you doing? 

John::: perfectly well, you look amazing laura. 

Laura: {with a surprise look), like seriously? What makes you say so, I have been like this any other day, haven't I? 

Johnny:: Then could it be I was blind or something. Take this from me my dear, and am being very sincere with this. You look so pretty. 

Laura:: You're actually  serious, thanks for the compliment Mr Johnny Williams. 

John:: I guess you're off to class right? 

Laura:: Sure, 

John:: Then let's go together, that's  if you don't mind. 

Laura::of course I don't….. As we continued to walk to our department I kept wondering. So can this  arrogant  man be this gentle? Men can be so unpredictable. This thought could not leave me so I decided to speak out. 

Hey John, 

John:: yea laura, 

Laura:: If someone had told me you can be this gentle and nice I would never have believed.  

John;;Hahaha(laughing) Laura, are you serious right now? 

Laura:: have never been this serious. 

John:: OMG, for real? Is it that obvious? 

Laura:: Judging from my first encounter with you and your friends it wasn't  a cool one you know! 

John:: Yeah sure you're very right. But you know you should not judge  me like that yet, I might be spoiled but am still a cool guy. 

Laura::talking of your friends, it's  been days I haven't seen you guys together, I know you four mingle a lot. 

Johnny::you're right, perhaps I should say we are no longer friends. 

Laura::hope I am not prying, but will you mind sharing? 

John:: my friends are not who I thought they were. 

And what makes you say that? Laura asked. 

John ::that same day we had that ugly encounter with you, we went out with some girls to chill, 

Can you believe these guys left their hotel rooms I paid with my money and left me with queen at the hotel. 

Laura:: I know I'm not into such a life and I don't  really know much about that, but from my understanding maybe they just wanted to give you privacy. 

John::privacy you say? That can't be true, it's not the first time we are doing that. We have always done that back in our college days, you know. And they never left me in a hotel room for  any reason. Am so angry with all of them right now. I don't even sure I will be able to forgive them for that. 

Laura::You don't  have to say that. You have to forgive them if truly they were your friends. The bible tells us that we should always forgive one another because we also hurt other people knowingly or unknowingly. Above all we sin against God too most of the  time  but he is always ever ready to forgive us. So John, I will love that you forgive them today okay. Please

Johnny::I can't really promise you that Laura, but I will see to that, that's if they ask  for forgiveness. 

Laura::If they really care about you as their friend, they will definitely do that, I guess you miss them too. 

  As I was talking with John, I could spot the three guys approaching us. Their faces were in so much surprise probably because they saw me with John. 

John:: talk of  the devil, they are here already, let me just hear what  they have to say this time. 

   Soon they were so close  to us that I knew already they were coming to apologize to me. 

Hey John, I will leave you guys to talk now. Laura said to me. 

John::Sure Laura, thanks a lot and take care. 

Laura::you do the same. 

As Laura just left I saw some relieved expressions on their faces. I just imagined what could be going on in their naughty minds now. They may be  thinking I and Laura are a couple now, but who cares. 

Greg:: Hey bro, good  morning. 

Johnny man, we need to talk bro. Fred said. 

Sure brother, let's talk like friends, Clark added. 

Okay am all ears, I said. 

I could see happy expressions on their faces already because for the past few days I wasn't giving them any audience. 

Greg:: John, we know we have wrong you and you have every right to hate us. But we thought we were just giving you privacy, it was after we left that we realized we were wrong. 

That's the truth John, Fred interrupted Greg, 

We have been friend's from back in  the day, we always watch each other's back, you know we won't do something that will hurt you knowingly. 

Clark:: John, if I tell you that Greg, Fred  and I in particular have been happy for all these days then I am lying. My heart kept telling  me something is missing and I knew that was you bro, we are truly sorry. 

       Hearing this from them, I realized that they were truly sorry, and have never seen them this emotional. And with the advice Laura gave me, nothing could have stopped  me from forgiving them this time. It's a fact that We have been friends for a long time  now. 

I forgive you guys, drop this funny look already and come give your boss a hug. I said while smiling and opening my both arms wide open. 

They were all smiling as we gave ourselves a group hug like children will do, have really missed  you guys too. It wasn't easy on my side either, you know I don't have any other friends apart from you guys. 

Greg::we will need to celebrate this man, for the meantime let's go to class, we have  a lot of catch ups to do later.  

Clark, with plenty gist too (laughs) 

Fred::and most importantly, we have a great surprise for you bro, you will love it. 

John::Like seriously guys, 

Greg:: of course bro. 

John:: wow i can't wait, it's like you guys have planned about this for  a long time now, the surprise should be really huge. 

Clark:: being huge is an understatement bro, 

Hahahah we all laughed and everyone was happy, I could not believe these were the guys I was very mad at some few minutes ago, now it feels like nothing happened. I guess that's how friendship is, you hurt each other which is inevitable but the vital thing is you guts make-up. Am happy I took LAURA'S advice.   

     Okay  guys, it's time, I have a class in a few minutes, let me heard to my department. See you guys later. 

The  three of them all shouted. Later bro. 

I could see that they were really happy as they left for their different classes. 

I went to class and met Laura all smiling. I wonder what could be making this girl smile in this manner. I plan on asking her after the class.
