In a Mission

"Leah, wait!" Charlie ran towards Leah who was already outside his office. "Yes, Charlie?" Leah stopped running, gasping for air. "Take my car, and here's my credit card, you might not make it back to your room, don't worry I'll tell Adrian later. I know you want to be alone, but you know where to call if something happens," Charlie handed her the car keys. and a black credit card. Leah accepted it hesitantly.

"Thanks, Charlie," Leah whispered, touched by Adrian's father's kindness. Charlie nodded, then told Leah to hurry. Leah ran as fast as she could into the yard, Charlie said the car was parked right in front of the entrance. Leah got in the car, started the engine hastily, then stomped on the gas pedal and sped away from Bethesda. She knew the trip to New York would not be a short time, but she would try to get there as soon as possible. Since Leah didn't want to go by plane, she suspected Jerome had spies there.
