Chapter 28
While the guys were off training for the day, Salen made the decision to hang out with Suzanne from the other afternoon. She was busy baking in the kitchen with some of the chefs and other pack wives.
Her face brightened when she spotted Salen walking into the room. "Salen!" She squealed, rushing over to hug her with as much strength as she could muster.
"Hey Suzanne!" Salen pulled back and gave her a friendly smile. "I thought maybe we could do something today! Celus is busy." She caught herself before she let slip where they really were.
"Of course! We are just baking cookies for the children. It's Xander's birthday today." She winked over to a little boy around the age of six that was tugging at his mother's pants.
"Mom! When are they going to be done?" He whined. His mother, a short stalky woman with short brown hair swatted him out of the kitchen.
"I told you!" She scolded. "I will let you know when they are done. Now go play with your friends

Celus dismissed himself from Andrew and crossed the clearing to be by Salen's side. If Kristopher and Henry were planning something, he wanted to make sure she stayed safe in all of it. Celus paced frantically as warriors rushed around him. Landrews had gotten a lot of men to help with the proposal as he wanted it to be a big thing for everyone.Celus' heart raced as he felt his hands begin to sweat. Proposing to Salen was huge, but the added anxiety of Brady and Landrews taking control made him want to pass out."Are you ready for this?" Brady asked from behind him. He sighed, holding his head in his hands.

"Cheers to the happy couple!" Landrews announced, holding his glass of champagne in the air. When he said he was going to plan things, he really went overboard.He not only had the proposal planned, which they ended up not using, but he had a party waiting for them when they got back to the castle. Landrews requested the presence of Brady and Celus early the next morning. He was sitting in his office working on paperwork when they found him."You wanted to see us?" The decorating of the castle began after Landrews' announcement to his pack. Most were thrilled for their future under the new monarchy, and they believed he could do good for his people.Salen stood along Celus' side as he continued his training and learned anything that would be important for him before he took over. That included the names and locations of all of the packs and leaders that he would rule over.Celus ran his hand lightly over the worn map that draped over Landrews' desk. His pack title along with his sirname was printed in cursive ink over a large plot of land not far from the kingdom. Tne next morning went by in a blur. Castle staff were busy helping Celus and Brady prepare for the ceremony. Salen was whisked away by Safiya to get dressed up together in her room.Celus was being bombarded with last minute knowledge from Landrews as the staff rushed to bring in two black suits; one for Celus, and the other for Brady. They also brought in the royal robe that had been passed down through generations. Every king that had been crowned in their monarchy had worn it all the way back to the first family.The robe was a royal blue color with white fur lining the outer trim. It had a large golden crown embroidered in the center along with the royal crest.Celus groaned as he took the suit into his arms and moved to the connected bathroom to change out of his shorts and long sleeve shirt.The suit was black with silver cufflings that had the golden crest engraved into them. It was paired with a plain white button-up shirt and matching black tie.

Salen was a ball of nerves as she moved into the ballroom, attracting stares from their guests. Celus' uncle smiled proudly at her when she passed him near the stage. Being Celus' mate, she would be crowned once they were married; something that was in place as security for the Luna Queen title. She loved her mate more than anything, she just never expected something like this to happen to her. The royal advisor stepped onto the stage, silencing the crowd. "I want to thank you all so much for joining us on this exciting day. It is now time to crown our now monarch; a time to celebrate as this happens rarely in a lifetime."
