Life's a real bi.tch sometimes. Here Everett is, finally having found his mate, to be told her wolf is sick and dying. I could see the panic deep in his dark eyes. Leave it to Rain to uncover something. 

"What do you mean? What sickness?" He asked Rain, but he turned to look at Maple. He was scared. 

"I was cursed as a baby. My parents had offended some dark creature, leading them to curse my mother while she was pregnant with me. I told you Everett, I am no good." Maple explained, hanging her head, looking utterly broken.
