She said she was going to see her family, yet she sealed all the shadows around her. What is she really up to? Why does she keep them closed? It bothers me, but not enough to go see for myself. I'll give her privacy, because I'm sure she'd tear my head off if I just showed up where she was.

It was well past 5 now and we'd been sitting around an hour now. They'd come out once to say they had to repair her stomach and bowel as they were injured during the stabbing. Kiran was a mess, twitching his leg, chewing on his thumb. He looked so distressed and all I could do to help was hold his hand. It didn't feel like enough.
