Chapter 193

It was a few minutes past midnight when Alma woke up feeling hungry. She got up from bed in the dark room and switched on the bedside lamp. Her head was throbbing in pain coupled with the hunger pangs that attacked her stomach. She weakly got up holding her head and headed for the bathroom. She poured cold water on her face before she looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was disheveled and dark spots appeared under her eyes. Shemust have had a troubled sleep.

She tried to remember what happened last night but could not tell how she got into bed, everything about last night was gone except her meeting with Tilda and her group of lady friends. Tired she went back to the room, took her bathrobe and wore it before heading out to search for food. Alma was sure everyone might be asleep that late at night so getting out in that attire wasn't such a big deal to her.
