Chapter 9

"Of course sir, it would be a great honour for me to get such a rare opportunity." replied Elise. The outcome of the situation wasn't something she had really envisioned. God might have been on her side that day, it was a great opening for her career as their company and her would be exposed to the world, this would definitely be a booster to her career.

"That is settled then " the manager said as he made his way out. Ella who hadn't been able to accept the new development was fuming with anger, how could that useless girl beat her and get such a huge deal. She wasn't going to accept this when she knew very well that Elise could not beat her. She was about to follow after the manager and complain about when suddenly the secretary met him halfway down the hallway informing

him about the important guests waiting for him at the office. Ella stamped her feet as such an opportunity escaped her.

Elise who was so elated about this hurriedly went out, she had to share this great news with her family. She had to call grandmother and inform her about this. Since the hallway was filled with people she decided to head to the washroom and get the privacy she needed. Elise had just entered the washroom and was about to make a phone call when her phone rang, coincidentally it was grandmother calling.

"Hello grandmother, I was just about to call you. How are you doing?" Said Elise excitedly. She couldn't wait to tell grandmother all about it.

"We are okay dear, was just worried that you didn't call since you left home yesterday. From your voice alone I can tell that you are doing okay." Said grandmother Caren. Her spirit had been lifted the moment she heard how her granddaughter had been excited, definitely she hadn't encountered any difficulty as she had earlier thought.

"Of course grandmother, l'm really excited today, imagine I'm going to appear on the cover page of the weekly magazine that's to be released later in the day. The manager loved my photographs that he decided to use it for the over page due to the emergency that the company experienced." Elise explained still excited and smiling ear to ear.

"Wow congratulations dear, that's definitely great news, I'm always confident in your potentials, definitely this is just the beginning of a brighter future for you." Grandmother said.

" I pray for that too grandmother, it will just be a short till my dreams are fulfilled." Said the excited Elise.

"That's really good dear, but I wanted to find out how you settled down yesterday, you did not even bother to call me when you arrived the designated accommodation as you said earlier." Grandmother said, she had been

worried that Elise just lied to her about being housed by the company, she had decided to give her time to settle before finding out the truth from her, but the anxiety couldn't let her rest, she just had to inquire from her.

"About that I'm sorry grandmother that I didn't call immediately I arrived, but you shouldn't worry yourself about that, in fact you won't believe the place the

company allocated for me, it's the grand Samantha apartment's located right in town. Grandmother I wish you could come and see the place I'm living. Did you know that famous celebrities normally reside at Samantha apartment's? It's really beautiful grandmother. "Elise was so excited telling grandmother all about the new place she resided in that she didn't notice Ella who had entered the washroom.

Ella was taken aback by Elise's statement, did she mean that she got an apartment at the luxurious Samantha apartment's that she tried many times to get a room but was always turned down. What did she even mean by the company allocating her an apartment there. If Ella remembered correctly that privileged was only for established models within the industry. How could someone like Elise be given such an apartment. Was it because of the photo-shoot, but that happened few minutes ago, they hadn't even completed the deal.

Ella wanted to immediately confront Elise but decided against it, she had to confirm this before making a fool out of herself. Being impulsive she had wanted to go and complain to the manager when she heard Elise talking about it, it would be better if she had evidence.

Elise's performance at the photo shoot definitely turned the tables around. The manager had definitely loved her performance, she had to be careful if she wanted to stay around. Her experience from her previous company still fresh on her mind. When the time was ripe Elise would have to suffer the same fate as she did.

"Really Elise, I really have no idea about the apartment you are talking about but from your tone itself I'm sure it's great, so now I can sit back at home without any troubles." Grandmother said as she breathed a sigh of relief. She definitely worried herself about nothing.

"Now that you are sure I'm doing alright you can rest easy, I know that you were worried the whole time since I left, but I promise I'm doing alright. I'll go now grandmother, it's my first day and I'm not supposed to lazy around." Elise said.

"Alright we'll talk later, just call me if you need anything Said grandmother.

"Okay grandmother, till next time." Elise responded and cut the phone. She immediately left the washroom and headed to her station. There were definitely new instructions waiting for her.

Elise's first day was so fulfilling that the moment she had to head back home, she was so excited and decided treat herself to a good meal. She would prepare fried chicken and rice to celebrate her great achievement. Since the kitchen had been fully stocked she didn't worry about buying anything and headed straight home. Since it was still early in the evening she went on ahead and walked back to her apartment. All through she didn't notice Ella who had been following behind her discreetly Ella because of her frequent trips to Samantha

apartments could not believe her eyes, Elise was definitely making her way to t h e apartment. What shocked her most was the fact that the guards let her in immediately. Al these were hard for her to accept, did the company really give her an apartment and left her out, why would they do something like that. She decided she would ask Mr. William about it but first she had to confirm from the security at Samantha apartment's.

"Excuse me sir, could I go in, my friend who just went in left me behind." Said Ella looking for an opportunity to get in and confirm more for herself.

"Sorry madam but only residents are allowed in, you could just call your friend to come get you." the security guard said respectfully, it was their job to ensure that everyone was catered for with utmost respect.

"Just forget about it, I’ll just call her later." Ella said and turned and left, this definitely wasn't something she would take lying down, they had been signed at the same time and there was no way she would agree to it.

The moment Elise entered her apartment she decided to take a quick shower. She was drying her hair when suddenly her mobile rang from the bedroom, it was Logan calling, Elise answered it hurriedly, not knowing it had been a video call, her body had been exposed badly and Logan on the other side couldn't keep her cool, his body temperature had started rising to levels he couldn't control.

Logan's voice became coarse when replying to Elise who was still unaware of what was happening.

"Elise dear could you please cover up your body, I really can't concentrate with your naked body in front of me." Said Logan, the torture had been so much for him to bear and decided to alert Elise.

Elise however when she heard this got so shocked that the loosely hanging towel fell to the floor. Realizing that this was getting worse Elise quickly ran back into the bathroom covering her face with her hands. How could she have been careless to let that happen?

Logan who saw the adorable reaction from the beauty on the other side couldn't help laughing at himself. Elise brought back the feelings he had long forgotten about. He would have to work hard to win her love better still get the throne and everything else would definitely go back to their place.

Elise back at the bathroom was red with embarrassment, how would she be able to face him ever again after he had seen her naked. She had to stay in same position till she was sure that the line had gone dead since she had forgotten to pick her towel when she ran off.

In her mind she knew what would follow after the little incident, she had to be careful about letting any man in her life. Though Logan hadn't talked about it openly, his reaction definitely told of something else. She had to concentrate on molding her career first.
