It was stupid, Rafał know that, but he really wanted to repay Radosz in some way for all he has done.
Admittedly, before he fell asleep, Rafał decided to devote himself to his work even more, but that was not enough for him. And so he wanted to work as best he could and in fact he did it primarily for himself and for the chance that Radosz gave him by hiring him, so it would not actually be gratitude to someone who saved his life.
