★Sienna's POV★
“Thank you so much, Doctor,” I said sincerely to Dr. Perez, the physician in charge of my mom and Kuya Steve’s treatment. He gave me a gentle nod, his expression kind but tired. Mama and Kuya were still unconscious, but at least their vitals had stabilized. Their wounds were slowly healing, and Mama’s surgery was scheduled for next week. I couldn’t imagine what might’ve happened to them—or me—if I hadn’t accepted Denver’s offer. Honestly, we probably would've been kicked out of the hospital by now, left on the street with nothing but unpaid bills. I walked over to their beds, careful not to make a sound. My heart ached seeing them like this—so still, so fragile. “Mama… Kuya…” I whispered, brushing some hair away from Mama’s forehead. “I’ll go ahead for now. I’ll visit you again soon, okay? Please… please get well.” With a heavy heart, I quietly left the room. I was on my way back to Denver’s mansion, just a few kilometers away. I didn’t ask anyone to accompany me—not even a driver. I didn’t want to bother anyone or seem like I was taking advantage. It was enough for me that Denver was taking care of my family. That was more than I could’ve asked for. The streets were quiet. A warm breeze blew past, carrying the scent of Manila’s late afternoon—exhaust fumes mixed with street food. I was deep in thought, wondering how I’d manage everything from here on out, when it happened. A black van screeched to a halt right in front of me. What the— Before I could react, two men wearing black masks jumped out and rushed toward me. “Come with us,” one of them ordered gruffly. “What?! Let me go! Hel—!” A cloth pressed against my mouth, cutting off my scream. It smelled of something strong—chemical, suffocating. The world around me spun wildly before going dark. ★Denver's POV★ I had just gotten home from the office. For some reason, I felt restless all day. Something didn’t sit right with me. I even left early, which I never do, just to see Sienna. She’d told me she was visiting her mom and brother at the hospital. “Manang Lita,” I called as I stepped into the mansion, “has Sienna returned yet?” “She hasn’t come home since noon, sir,” the head housekeeper replied, concerned. “No one was with her when she left?” “No, sir. She refused a driver. She said she didn’t want to inconvenience anyone.” I frowned. “You mean she went alone?” “Yes, sir.” A bad feeling settled in my gut. I pulled out my phone and dialed her number. It rang. And rang. No answer. I tried again. Still nothing. “Manong Tasyo, prepare the car. Now,” I ordered my driver, barely containing the urgency in my voice. I opened the GPS tracker I’d discreetly installed on her phone after the wedding—just in case. At first, I’d debated whether it was too much, but right now, I was grateful I did. She was no longer near the hospital. Her location pinged from a warehouse—abandoned, near Fort Santiago. What the hell? Why would she be there? My hands curled into fists. Something was wrong. Very wrong. As soon as I got into the car, I called my best friend. “Xandro. I need your help. I think Sienna’s been kidnapped. I’m sending you the location,” I said in one breath before forwarding the GPS coordinates. Whoever did this… If they so much as lay a finger on her… They’re dead. “Manong,” I barked, my jaw clenched tight, “drive faster. If anything happens to her, I’ll never forgive myself.” The car sped off, weaving through traffic as my pulse hammered in my ears. ★Sienna's POV★ I woke up to complete darkness. My head pounded, my throat dry, and everything smelled like mold and dust. “Where… am I?” I mumbled, my voice barely audible. I tried to move—only to find my wrists and ankles bound. My breathing quickened. Was I… kidnapped? Panic set in quickly. Why? Who would do this to me? Was it one of Papa’s old creditors? Someone who thought my family had money? Or worse… someone who thought I was worth something. Maybe they planned to sell me. Or harvest my organs. Or— Oh God, please, no. I don’t want to die like this. I haven’t even had my first real kiss! I mean—yes, I was married, but it was just a contract. I hadn’t even felt married. I hadn’t had love. Real love. And I wanted to see Mama and Kuya again. They needed me. I couldn’t die now. Why didn’t they gag me, though? “HELP! HELP ME! I’VE BEEN KIDNAPPED! PLEASE!!!” I screamed as loud as I could, even though my voice trembled. A loud bang hit the metal door. “Will you shut up?!” growled a man as he stepped inside. His face was in shadow, the only light streaming in from behind him. “What do you want from me?! Why did you bring me here?! Let me go!” I shouted, struggling against the ropes. “We don’t want anything. But our boss does,” he sneered. “Who? What boss? I didn’t do anything! I’m not even rich!” I cried out, but the panic in my voice only made them chuckle. Another man entered the room. “Raul, why didn’t you gag her? She’s too loud.” Raul. Great. Now I had at least one name. “Shut her up. We’ll be in trouble if the boss finds out she’s screaming like that.” Raul approached me with a strip of duct tape. “Don’t come near me! Stay away! HELP! PLEASE!” I screamed until he pressed the tape over my mouth, muffling my cries. “Be quiet. You’ll get your answers when the boss arrives,” he said, and with one last look, they left, locking the door behind them. I was alone again. Tears streamed down my cheeks. Why me? What did I do? Tita Regina… could she be behind this? She always hated me. Maybe this was her way of getting me out of Denver’s life. I tried again to free myself, but the ropes only bit deeper into my skin. My wrists were raw now, bleeding from friction. “Please… someone, save me,” I thought, the pain and fear too much to bear. Eventually, my strength gave out, and I slumped over, praying someone—anyone—would come before it was too late.I helped Maria cook three dishes—Pakbet, Tinola, and Adobo—all of which, they told me, were Denver’s favorites. It was a bit nerve-wracking trying to help in a kitchen that wasn’t mine, but everyone was so kind and patient. We moved around like a well-oiled machine, chopping, stirring, tasting. I felt like I was part of the family, even if just for a while. The air was filled with the smell of garlic and ginger, and the comforting aroma of adobo simmering in soy sauce and vinegar. After we finished cooking, we carefully arranged the food on serving dishes and carried them to the dining table. Everything looked delicious, and I was honestly proud of what we had done together. Luisa was quick on her feet, efficiently setting the table with plates and silverware, her movements practiced and graceful. She placed the last spoon beside a bowl and nodded with satisfaction.Just then, Manang approached me, her expression calm and gentle. “Sienna, Master Denver said he’ll be home late tonight.
“Ma’am Sienna, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be resting? Please, go back to your room or Master Denver will be upset with us,” said Manang Lita, her voice tinged with genuine concern as she spotted me walking barefoot into the garden, hose in hand.“I’m already feeling much better,” I said, smiling as I adjusted the hose. “It’s just so boring in the room. There’s nothing to do there. Don’t worry, he won’t know about this,” I added, giving her a playful wink.As water flowed out of the hose, gently sprinkling over the bed of bright flowers, I heard Cara mutter from behind me, “Ma’am Sienna is really stubborn.” Her tone was teasing, and Manang chuckled softly beside her.Truthfully, I didn’t mind doing housework. I was used to it. Tasks like watering the garden or sweeping dried leaves were things I grew up doing. They were oddly comforting—routine, predictable. They gave my hands something to do, even if my mind still wandered. But even with the garden work, I couldn’t shake t
“By the way, thanks for your help,” I said as I took another bite of food. “I'll do anything for you,” he replied, chewing his meal too.★Denver’s Point of View★ I meant what I said. I’ll do anything to protect her—even if she still hasn’t forgiven me for what I did to her brother. She may not say it outright, but I know the grudge is still there, hidden behind her soft eyes. Still, the more time I spend with her, the deeper I fall. Watching her eat, unaware of the chaos that still swirls outside this quiet room, makes me feel something I never thought I’d feel again—peace. But peace never lasts long in my world.A few moments later, my phone started ringing. I stepped out of Sienna’s room quietly so I wouldn't disturb her—it was Xandro.“Denver, bad news,” he said the second I answered. “What is it?” I asked, already bracing myself. “Your dad… he helped Lisha get out. He pulled strings with his friend, the Director General,” Xandro said.I clenched my jaw so tight I thought my te
★Sienna’s Point of View★I woke up slowly, my head pounding like it had been smashed against a wall. My body ached everywhere. What happened…? And then it hit me—I had been kidnapped. There was a warm hand gently stroking mine. I blinked, my vision blurry. Someone was sitting beside me, head bowed low.Was that… Denver?I squinted to see more clearly.“D-Denver?” I whispered weakly. But it wasn’t him.“Thank God, Sienna, my love—you’re awake,” said a voice I hadn’t heard in a while. My heart sank. What the hell is Oliver doing here?I looked around. I was in a hospital room. Of course. That explained the IV on my arm and the dull ache all over.“What are you doing here?” I asked sharply, yanking my hand away from his grip.“Sienna, my love, please don’t be like this. Why did you leave me? Don’t you love me anymore?” he asked, trying to hold my hand again.I slapped his hand away with all the strength I had left.“Love? After what you did? You cheated on me again, Oliver! Did you reall
★Denver’s Point of View★I ran toward where Sienna was, my heart pounding with panic and rage. Without hesitation, I punched the man standing on her right, sending him staggering back. The other guy immediately let go of her as I lunged forward. Sienna, weak and barely conscious, collapsed—but I caught her just in time.Xandro and the backup officers stormed in right after me, apprehending Lisha and the two men. Before they dragged them out of the room, I turned to Lisha and glared at her with all the fury I could muster."You'll pay for what you did to my wife," I said, my voice trembling with anger.“She deserved what I did,” Lisha spat back coldly, right before Xandro shoved her out the door with the others.I turned my attention back to Sienna. “Please, Sienna, wake up,” I whispered, cradling her in my arms. Without wasting a second, I rushed her to the car and ordered Manong to drive straight to the hospital. Her body was covered in bruises and cuts—too many to count. My stomach
★Sienna’s Point of View★I woke up to the shocking sensation of cold water splashing across my face, jarring me from the blackness of unconsciousness. I gasped, but the sound was muffled—the sharp sting of tape stretched across my mouth kept me silent.“Hey! Wake up already! The boss wants to meet you,” a harsh voice barked. The man’s face was hidden behind a black ski mask, only his eyes visible. Did he seriously have to use ice-cold water? What happened to waking someone up with a shake or a shout?I groaned and tried to sit up, my limbs aching and stiff. My wrists and ankles were tied tightly with coarse rope. The floor beneath me was hard and damp, maybe concrete, and reeked of mold and rust. My head pounded, and my cheeks stung from lying sideways on the cold floor.“Get up! Don’t be so slow,” he snapped, his voice rising with irritation. I shot him a glare, struggling to lift myself upright. How did he expect me to get up when I was bound like a damn mummy? Was he stupid, or jus
