Can't Meet Her

"So the one who did all this to her is actually her sister." Noah asked.

"Step sister sir." Thomas corrected.

"Should I take care of that person for her?" Noah seriously asked.

"...I don't think Miss would like it. Not to forget, she is his sister at the end of the day."

"That's true... So why did her sister do this to her?"

"Because of jealousy. Miss is not just beautiful but a hardworking and very talented person. Everyone around her always and always praised her. Whereas her step-sister always chooses an easy way to succeed. Working under her own company she abuses her power and gets the best endorsement for herself. No one really ever liked her much. In jealousy, she planned all this against her sister."

By the end of Thomas's words, Noah had a small smile on his face. It's very rare for his secretary to actually compliment someone. Even if his works asked him to do so, he would never do buttering. Hearing such compliments for Kiara from him, he could tell that Kiara must be very stunning that she was able to impress someone so easily.

"Okay then. Set me a meeting with her. As soon as possible."

"What happened?" Noah frowned after getting no response.

"... please do not misunderstand me, sir. The next few months are really important to us. Not just for you and me but for our people too. We really don't wanna sabotage that with anything." Thomas worriedly said.

Noah's brows got relaxed after hearing that. He understands what Thomas was trying to imply. In fact, he agrees with him too.

Right now he might get his girl but it would bring her into danger too. And that is something he can't afford to let happen.

"Leave the room." He ordered.

Thomas didn't try to question or probe him for the answer again. He already got his answer and he also knew what was going to happen next. Without wasting another second he left the room and soon he heard all the noise of things getting smashed on the floor or wall.

What Noah was feeling at that moment was helplessness. He badly wanted to go after his girl, but here he was all stuck because of work.

It's his first time feeling such emotions. He eagerly wanted to tell everything to Kiara but now he can't. It was very frustrating for him.

And Noah is someone who gets angry about small things, being this frustrated it's inevitable for him to not break things.

After few days

"So you are finally free. Huh?" Cathy angrily walked inside the room.

"I am so so sorry. I was literally busy all this time. Please forgive me." Kiara hurriedly apologize.

"Get me my drink."

"Already in its way."

"Where is yours?"

Kiara pursed her lips and sheepishly smiled. "Hehe... it's in my hand under the table."

"You... I know you are drinking sweet drinks every day. I am telling you, Kiara, stop it right now or you will get really bad diabetes in the future." Cathy strictly spoke.

Placing her cup on the table Kiara sighed. "I can't help it. I am left with a few bills only, you know I am good with savings and all. I will end up spending it on something anyway."

"Then spend that on something useful then!"

Kiara pouted hard. Throwing her useless wallet on the table she spoke. "I do love shopping and I would love to do that every week. But... Nowadays... I am kinda poor. I invested a lot in some new beginners. And this month and next few months my paycheck is going to them too."

"So what? You got no money at all?" Cathy almost cussed at her.

Kiara gave a small smile and casually answered. "I paid last month's salary to my secretary from your card."

"... What the-"

"I knew you would react this way so I paid him in advance for this month and next month too. So that I won't be worried for the next few months at least. But I promise I will return your money this time. Seriously I will-"

"You!!! Bitch!! How could you do that!"

"I simply swiped the card-"

"You come here. Come here right now!!!" Cathy ran after Kiara but Kiara had already run far away from her.

"Have you not heard that proverb, Whatever is yours is mine, and what is mine, is mine. You should support your friend in grief. And I am really grieving right now."

"Grieving my foot. You are having the best day of your life here and there I am footing your bills? Come here right now or I will kill YOU!!!" Cathy shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Ouch, you actually kicked my ass." Kiara pouted.

"You deserve it." Cathy said while sipping from her drink. "So you are again broke this year."

"Just a few more months. And then I will be rich enough to buy one percent share of Elrod group all alone. And after that, I will be rich forever."

"You will get such shares from your grandfather anyway." Cathy rolled her eyes.

"That won't give me any feeling of achievement. I have to work hard to feel that feeling. Moreover, my grandfather doesn't own any shares from Elrod group."

"So I am footing your bills again? I don't get it. Why do I do that for you? Like seriously, this would be my third time that I am paying for your bills for the next few months."

Kiara bit her lower lips and gave a cheeky smile. Her hobby of investing in new companies and in new groups all around the world always ends up making her moneyless.

Because she can't and didn't want to ask for pocket money from her grandfather, Kiara always ends up using Cathy's card for herself.

Like her, Cathy is also a businesswoman but in the fashion world. Where she is recognized as of the top designers in their state, she earns a lot too.

Kiara doesn't usually spend much from Cathy's card. That card is more likely a safety for her. She uses it either for food or for clothes and lastly for emergency purposes.

Sipping from her drink Kiara said. "I will return your money this time. I really need to pay Ray on time. He got some loans under his name. If I don't pay him regularly, he will be in trouble."

"Don't he get his own salary from the company?" Cathy asked confusedly.

"That's different. The salary I give him is different."

"You and your work. Why don't you get yourself a boyfriend? In such cases, the boyfriend can afford his girlfriend's expenses."

Kiara's lips twitched. "Are you taunting me?"

She just got out of one relationship with such a bad memory, and now Cathy is asking her to experience it again?

"What is there to taunt? Everyone gets bad experiences in their life. What should they do then? Stop living their life?"
