Chapter 39

Tracy

Hermione replied, "Tracy," in a shaky voice.

"At the intersection, something's happened."

I spun around to find she was right. There were people everywhere, lights were flashing, and officers were attempting to assist them.

Abruptly, I had uneasiness in the pit of my stomach and was certain that a terrible mistake had occurred. Two gnomes shrugged their heads and walked on. "Terrible thing."

I reached over to touch her arm. "What happened?" The Muggle girl raised her sad eyes to stare at me. "Automobile mishap. A drunk driver crashed into a taxi. It's not appealing."

My entire body felt numb as they left, and Hermione held onto my arm while I hardly heard her murmur his name. We were aware. We were both aware that a significant change had occurred in both our own and our children's lives.

After 2 months
