Chapter 18

Alena woke up with a huge headache. She looked around to see that she was in their room. She remembered about yesterday, and her heart started beating faster.

She slowly walked out of bed when she saw that Edmund was nowhere in sight. She couldn't even explain what happened yesterday. Did he really try to kill her, or he was just trying to scare her?

His eyes were so blank. He was apologizing days ago. He wanted to make it up to her. What happened to that?

Shw walked to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw her bruised neck. There's no way makeup will be able to hide this. Why did he do this to her?
