Chapter 9 :- A day before Meera's wedding.

Today is the day full of rituals at her wedding so we all are getting up early in the morning.

Today I wore a dark blue gown with elbow-length sleeves and white colour leggings and I wore a one matching dupatta and did the mascara for my eyes and gave the final touch to my look by putting on a lip gloss. I made a simple hairstyle by putting my hair in a hair clip and I let my other hair open.

I don't like lipstick so most of the time I would like to avoid putting lipstick on.

After getting ready for the ritual I meet Meera and she has worn a red colour gown with matching leggings and dupatta, in contrast, she has made a simple hairstyle for her hair and done little makeup. 

We both then go where rituals are performed where we meet other relatives who come today. 

I'm very bad at remembering the relatives whom I see rarely and Meera knew all the relatives by their name. 

We meet them by touching their feet and saying 'Jay Mataji'. It's going well till I know the relatives. 

The most expected compliment is that "Oh you grow up so early", " What are you studying now" and another one is "What are your future plans" 

After getting admission in medical college all my relatives are happy and I said yes to all of them whom I know and even don't know about treating them free and well. The most common compliment was It's good that you're a doctor now. You will do our treatment when we fall sick. So booking of patients done in advance in family functions

In family functions, the most awkward situation is when I greet relatives when my mother tells me or Meera meets and they ask "Do you know me? Tell me who I am?" 

Sometimes I guess the answer to these questions correctly and when I don't know I look at my mother or Meera and they just rescued me from the situation.

This time Meera helps me when I don't know the relatives and sometimes without knowing them I just meet them and when we go far from them I 

 ask Meera '' Who's that?'' 

and then she smiles and tells me Who's that and I sometimes recognise and sometimes not.

The first ceremony is 'Ganesh Sthapna' which is performed by my uncle and aunty by following the instructions of Pandit Ji. The ceremony is performed in the house. All women are seated in the house and men are seated outside the house.

Me and Meera sit in the chair with our other Sisters. We all cousins are seated in the group. We are busy doing little chit-chat.

The second ceremony is 'Mandap Muhurat'. Pandit Ji is busy saying shloka. My uncle and aunt are busy following the instructions of Pandit.

The ceremony is performed outside the house under the Mandap.

Relatives are seated in chairs. All males are seated in groups and females are seated in groups. Children are running from here to there and busy playing.

After these two ceremonies are finished, me and Meera get busy giving poses to the photographer. After that one more ceremony gets done and then we all cousins and all women who are there dance to the beat of Dhol music. 

After that, we all had lunch. After lunch, we all cousins are seated in a group. 

Meera is in a good mood. We all cousins are busy gossiping and then we start a conversation about the topic of love.

Everyone starts giving a definition of love according to their point of view.

Meera told us that ' For me, Love means taking care of your partner and always trying to make him happy.'

Janal said that ' Love is something that if it's one-sided it looks cool only in movies, not in reality because nothing is more painful than this in reality and if it's two-sided then nothing is great than that'

Sonal said that ' The first step of love is to trust your partner and if you love them but still can't trust them then it will lead to a love failure 💔'.

Neha said that ' Nowadays love is nothing more than doing a timepass with the other person by mutual understanding; they both do the time pass or people play with heart for their enjoyment so true love is a myth in today's era'.

And at the end, my turn came and I said that ' I do believe in Love and for me, love is something that gives you strength and makes you a better person than you were. That doesn't force you to become something that you are not. It means there is no need to find perfect love because no one is perfect but both can become perfect by growing up together and can learn from their own mistakes. In love you do care, understand, trust, sacrifice, remember them in your prayers, and support a person without expecting anything in return'.

I feel like without falling in love with anyone special I told too much about what love is. 

My school friends and college friends all are in relationships except Neel and Devansh. So they both are in my company and I like to be in a single squad till I don't fall in love.

I love to tease my school friends and also Isha and Yashvi about their love life. 

In this matter they can't tease me so I heard the same thing again and again that your time will also come dear. Don't think that We're not gonna tease you. I smiled at their comments. 

I like to watch romantic movies, listen to romantic songs and read romantic novels. 

What I don't like is the cheesy things that couples do in public places. When they pressurise to do something in the name of love. When they become over possessive in the name of love. I don't understand that kind of love. I told them What I knew about love and what I understood about what love is.

Our gossip continues for more than an hour.
