A Journey
A few minutes after I'm propped up against my pillows in bed watching TV my phone starts ringing. Checking the screen, I see that it's Mekhi calling so I answer.
"Hello," I answer smiling.
"Baby…" Mekhi says sounding a little distant.
"Hey, what's wrong," I say a little worried.
"Nothing, I am tired," he says with a yawn.
"Oh, then why did you call? You could've just sent a text," I say scolding him.
"Because I wanted to hear your voice. I won't be seeing you for a few days," he says easily.
"Awww…hold on," I say and hang up the call on him to video call him.
"You hung up on me," he says with shock written all over his face and in his voice.
"Yeah, but now you can see and talk to me," I say blushing because I'm in my hair wrap and a night shirt.

Love On Time Missing Me Yet...
Beep! Beeep! Beeeep! I roll over to shut off the alarm and get out of bed to use the bathroom and start my morning routine. I wash my hands, brush my teeth, and wash as well as moisturize my face. When I'm finished I check the weather and style my hair accordingly. It is getting warmer the closer we get to spring and I dress accordingly. I wear a lavender sweater with a mini skirt and leggings underneath. I pick a few simple accessories and very light make up to finish my look. When I check myself out in the mirror I feel as though I look good enough to snap a few pictures. I grab my phone to take pictures and see that Mekhi has sent his good morning text so I snap a picture of myself in the mirror and send it to him with a good morning of my own. I take a few more pics, grab my bag, and head down to the kitchen. As soon as I reach the landing the smell of bacon fills the air.

When we get back to campus, I go to my car and text Nova that I'm waiting for her in the parking lot so that we can go to our History class together. I see her car after a few minutes and flag her down so that she can park near me. When we finally decide to call it quits Rylie shows up asking a million and one questions about what happened earlier in the day. Nova tells her what happened as I'm so over the topic that I don't want to keep talking about it. "Jackson, Journee it's time to eat," I yell up the stairs taking the meatballs and the rest of the fries out of the warmer. "Yes," Jackson says jogging down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Wash your hands," Journee says following behind him. "Yeah, I know," Jackson replies standing at the sink beginning to lather up his hands. I grab plates and cups for us while they're washing their hands. I place the cups on the table and the plates on the island. We make our plates and fill our cups before sitting at the table. "Have you heard from Mom today," Jackson asks me. "Not since I sent her and Dad the text telling them about what happened today," I say to him. "She'll be calling soon I guess," Journee says. "Yeah, between her and Dad, I'll be hearing from one of them before the night is out," I say.

Beep!Beeep!Beeeep!I roll over to turn off my alarm with a feeling of excitement because the day is the day of our get together and Mekhi's game. I almost forgot that Mekhi publicly announced our relationship last night so today will be interesting to say the least. I get out of bed, check the weather, and begin my morning routine dressing according to the incoming confusing spring weather. Love On Time Wings and Game Night
First to the long table was Susu and her three siblings, next was Rylie with Ryan and Roman, and Nova with Julian and Susana was last. I introduced Susu to everyone and she introduced her siblings before we changed our seating so that we girls could sit together and the siblings all sit together. When we were all settled the waiter returned and took the drink order of the rest of the group. Because we had reserved so much seating we had a table between us and our siblings which worked perfectly for a little privacy and a place to stack our dishes. We talk about which appetizers and wing flavors to choose so that when the waiter returns we have our order ready. After the waiter hands out the drinks he takes our order of three nacho appetizers, three mozzarella stick appetizers, and one hundred twenty five wings of various flavors. Inside the car we're chatting happily about the game on our ride home. I'm still amazed that I watched the whole game and that we won. Mekhi played so well tonight, I know he's excited. "How does it feel to see someone you're dating on TV," Jackson says. "I don't know. Surreal I guess, I mean it's cool seeing him play in general," I say not knowing exactly how to answer his question. "I don't think it matters to her whether he's on TV or not," Journee says helping me. "Yeah, kind of like that. It doesn't matter him being on TV, he's cool all the same," I say to Jackson. "I guess with Mom and Dad being who they are it's different for us," he says. "Yeah, that makes sense. I suspect that they've only remained local to raise and take care of us which didn't stop them from venturing out. We just gave them a reason to be home more often," I say to him
