Being Intimidated

Saturday rolled around. Camilla had managed to get in contact with Steven, saying to him that the kids would like to see him.

Steven knew that if he had had any hope of gaining custody of his children, he would have to make efforts to visit them.

He had borrowed money and bought a few gifts for the children. It had been a while since he had seen or spoken to his own children.

He hadn't even bothered to pay child support for them, not that Camilla really even bothered to ask him. The less she bothered about him, the simpler her life was.

On Saturday around 11 a.m., Steven arrived.

Sitting in the living room were the two officials from social welfare, Frank, Bradford, and Camilla.

The children were up in their room playing games. Camilla went upstairs to call the children down, telling them that their father had arrived.

Steven entered the house and was introduced to Frank and the two officials. He greeted them and asked, "Where are my children?"

"They are on their way down. They have

Looking around, Meghan noticed that many were drinking. In the distance she saw Lloyd. She noted that while his date was drinking alcohol, he had remained drinking juices throughout. Turning her attention to Kevin, she also noted that he was getting hammered on the booze. "Kevin, don't you think you've had enough to drink?" she asked gently, so as not to provoke him. Leading her by the hand, he led her outside. He handed her a glass of what seemed to be juice. "Come have something in your hand at least," he goaded her.Accepting the glass, she smelled it. "It smells like mango juice." She took a sip to refresh her pallet. He took her to a quiet, secluded corner of the garden in hopes that no one would see them.Back inside, Lloyd started scanning the room with his eyes. Not able to see where Meghan was, he began to stress. Standing up, he started to move away from the table. "Lloyd, come dance with me," the red-haired person suggested, noticing that Lloyd had lost interest in her

  • Love Prevails    Feeling At A Loss

Eight months had passed since Meghan had started dating, and she was spending all her free time with Kevin and so much less time with Lloyd.Back at Oxford University, Danielle was right at her very last stage of her pregnancy. Both her and Marshall had been given the special recognition which allowed them to advance medically. Marshall and Danielle had decided to wait till December, when they would both be home to have their wedding. Bradford and Camilla had released one of their staff to go and serve for Marshall and Danielle, doing their cleaning and cooking and to assist with the baby when the baby arrived. At the same time, over in Bolton one Friday evening, Kevin had invited Meghan to a party at a buddy's place. Even planning what outfit she should wear. For a few months now, Kevin had been trying everything within his power to sleep with Meghan and have her move in with him, but Meghan wasn't that type of girl. While her brother had moved in with his fiancé, and she was p

A few days after the surgery, Morgan was permitted to leave the hospital. Exiting the hospital, he was told to wear broad, dark sunglasses to protect his eyes from the wind and the glare of both sun and light. Looking out before putting on his sunglasses, his words to his brother and parents were, "is the grass really this green?" Shocked by this statement, they suddenly realized that this child had not been seeing properly for most of his life. This brought tears to Camilla's eyes. In a second breath, he looked at his mother and said, "Mom, you have gray in your hair. Mom, you old." No one could help but laugh. Morgan was seeing things for the first time through eyes that were donated. Looking at this child, Marshall said, "hush, we do not tell mom that," he chuckled as he whispered in his brother's ear. "Don't worry babe, no matter how gray or wrinkled you get as we get older, you will always be beautiful to me," Bradford said. "It's okay babe, I think I will ship this mast

  • Love Prevails    Recommendations

Two months had passed since Marshall had made the announcement that he was going to be a father. Michelle had received the test results, and they had also found cancer cells that were active. They had suggested a bout of chemotherapy. They had confirmed that with the hysterectomy they had removed all the cancer cells. Her ovaries were also removed, plunging her into early, surgical menopause. Now, for many women, this could have been devastating news. For Michelle, it was not the case, she had suffered since the age of nine years old with awful monthly pains, often throwing her into a state of continual gastritis, and leaving her unable to do anything for the first two days. The month of May, spring season and all the flowers were in bloom. Camilla was sitting behind her desk going through some paperwork. Since her corneal grafting she no longer focused too much on the drafting, Tamara had taken over the designing under her scrutiny. While going through the documents, Camilla rece

  • Love Prevails    You've Got This

With Marshall and Meghan away at university, the house was a lot quieter. Meghan was having a blast. Three months into uni life and she had made a few good friends. Lloyd, constantly kept an eye on her. Kevin, on the other hand, was forever hanging around, and Meghan, and he spent a lot of time together. Back in Cheshire, Michelle was having major health issues while Morgan was on the donor list for a corneal transplant. Michelle was suffering badly each month with her flow. The flow, heavier to the point of being bedridden most of each month with such excruciating pain that no amount of, normal, painkillers would suffice. One morning, on getting out of bed, the flow was so bad it was everywhere. James called Bradford, "Bradford, I need you and Camilla to come with me to the hospital," he said, anxiousness crawling through. "James, calm down. Tell me, what is going on?" Bradford pulled out of him. Explaining the situation, Camilla overheard and said, "We're on the way."On arri

  • Love Prevails    Meghan's Moments

The day had finally arrived. Meghan would be leaving home for two years to further her studies in architecture. Marshall was all packed and ready to leave. Camila and Bradford had gotten accustomed to Marshall not being home even though they missed his presence. While Bradford was assisting Marshall with packing the car, Danielle arrived, being dropped off by her parents. Briefly greeting the Carltons, Marshall assured them that he would text as soon as they arrived. Camilla and Meghan and Morgan came to see the duo off. "Squirt, you must have fun, okay. Study hard, and before you know it, time will fly. I'm going to miss you, but text or call me anytime. Remember this is your time to shine," he encouraged her. Looking at his brother, he said, "make sure mom gets your eyes sorted bro. I will make the appointment tomorrow." Meghan hugged her brother and as he hugged her back, tears rolled down her soft, slightly tanned cheeks. "Don't cry squirt. All will be okay. I love you alwa

  • Love Prevails    A Special New Year

This New Year would be a special one. All the Hemingways were invited to the Home of Bradford and Camilla. It was the year that Meghan would be leaving for university. Marshall would be in his third year of residency but more so, it was a special occasion because Grandpa Hemmingway, was having New Year's at home rather than with the family and Grandpa would be celebrating his ninetieth birthday. As both sides of the family gathered together for this momentous occasion, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and nostalgia. This was not only a celebration of the new year, but it was a demonstration of how two families became so closely intertwined. The dining room was decorated with the festivities of the new year and a poignant occasion of Grandpa turning ninety. Joining them for this occasion was Danielle. Meeting her at the door, Marshall greeted her, pulling her in to him and placing a tender, passionate kiss on her soft, lush lips. "I'm glad you came," he said, holding on

  • Love Prevails    Unbridled Passion

Inside the room, he held her up against the wall. His arms were around her waist. It was the first time for both of them, but they felt ready. They both wanted this moment. They surrendered to the intoxicating allure of their desires. His thumb trailing her, plump, soft and enticing lips. He leaned in, parting her lips with his tongue. "God how I want you," he whispered, as his lips played, sensually, with her earlobe. Each kiss was a promise and each caress was a build up to their unyielding passion.Pausing, he looked at her, a sensitivity in his eyes, "are you sure?" he asked. "I'm sure," she responded, somewhat breathless. "If we do this, "there's no going back for us," he said. "I don't want to go back," her body ached for him to touch her. Searching her lips once again, he claimed them with a passion so fierce her juices between her legs began to get wetter."Touch me," she murmured breathless. Slowly, he carried her over to the bed. Both very inexperienced. They began t

  • Love Prevails    An Elites Ball

The following weekend was New Year's Eve. The Elites Ball was taking place at Delamere Manor. A country estate that is secluded and perfectly situated, stretching over a hundred acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside. Surrounded by parkland, meadows, woodland and a gorgeous six-acre lake. This was the perfect place. With enough guest suits to sleep over. As Camilla and Bradford were preparing for a night of splendor. A night where they wouldn't be the hosts or do the cleaning the next day. The morning of the event, Camilla went to a boutique for her evening gown, taking Meghan along with her. Looking through a few of the dresses, one in particular caught Meghan's eye. "Mom, this dress would be perfect for you. Can you imagine what dad will say when he sees you in it," she smiled wistfully, her eyes shining brilliantly as she selected the perfect dress for her mother. Camilla, herself, fell in love with the dress. Scouting around their eyes fell upon a second dress, perfectly tai
