"Charlotte!" Marcus's face darkened. "Why did you do that to Lydia? She's sick! That's not something she can control!"
Lydia, teary-eyed, pulled Marcus's arm and mumbled, "Marcus, don't blame Lottie. I deserved it. Because of me, your wedding was canceled. It's all my fault!"
Charlotte couldn't be bothered to watch Lydia act, so she hopped away.
Elizabeth blew a raspberry at Lydia and Marcus and hissed sarcastically, "Yeah. It's not your fault. You never make any mistake! You're just feeling blue, and the whole world has to make way for you! We get it!"
With that, Elizabeth directly turned around and followed Charlotte.
Marcus wanted to catch up with them, but he controlled his urge after he saw Lydia's current state.
"Marcus, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I know it's all my fault!"
Hearing Lydia keep saying sorry, Marcus began to take umbrage against Charlotte. He said to Lydia, "No. It's not your fault! She's way over the line!"
And he told himself in his heart, 'Lydia didn't want to be sick! Besides, if it wasn't for Charlotte, Lydia wouldn't have become a mess like this!'
When Marcus thought about the past, his face was clouded over.
He feared Lydia would take things too hard, so he decided not to bring Charlotte up again. "You flew here in the morning. Tired? I'll take you back to the hotel to get some rest, OK?"
Lydia looked at Marcus gingerly and nodded. "OK."
Then, after Marcus turned his head away, Lydia dropped her pretense and smirked complacently.

The second Charlotte reached home, her phone rang.
When she saw the unknown number, she let out a cold sneer.
Just as Charlotte expected, Lydia would get even with her after being slapped!
Charlotte answered the call. "Shoot. What do you wanna say this time?"
Lydia pretended to be shocked and said, "Lottie, how do you know it's me? Well. Don't get me wrong. I just want to remind you that tomorrow is you and Marcus's third anniversary.
"Don't you want to marry Marcus?"
Lydia chuckled, her voice carrying a trace of complacency.
Lydia's words irritated Charlotte a bit. After all, Charlotte was hospitalized for over a month, and during that time, she couldn't sleep at night because of the excruciating pain. But to avoid letting Elizabeth and Greyson worry, she had to endure it and tough it out every night.
Those sleepless long nights made her come to terms with the reality. However, now, except for anger, Charlotte had no other feelings toward what Lydia said.
If it were in the past, Charlotte would be hysterical. But now, she was very calm. She even let out a giggle. "Lydia, I think there's a misunderstanding between us. What do you think I am? A trash recycling center? Do you think Marcus is the only man in the world?
" Anyway, I've thrown the trash away already. But if you like it, feel free to keep it."
With that, Charlotte directly hung up.
Lydia was bummed that she didn't hear Charlotte's hysterical shouts, and the pain in her left face where Charlotte slapped her in the morning became even more unpleasant.
Lydia screamed, and her eyes flashed with hatred. But then, she worked out another scheme in her heart and thought, 'Just you wait, Charlotte! I'll definitely make you lose it this time!'

Among all the games that Charlotte played with Lydia, Charlotte never had a complete victory like today.
She used to care too much about Marcus, so she would lose her mind when she confronted Lydia. Therefore, even though Charlotte knew Lydia rattled her cage on purpose, she still couldn't help falling into Lydia's trap.
That was why every time Charlotte would make a fool out of herself.
But now that Charlotte had come to her senses, she found Lydia's little tricks were actually not that clever.
Charlotte felt that she was so stupid in the past!
As she thought about how disgruntled Lydia was right now, Charlotte's mood was elevated.
Then, she put down her phone and went to lie on the bed early as the doctor advised her to take more rest to speed up recovery.
That night, Charlotte had a perfectly sound sleep. She even had a good appetite the next morning.
When seeing Charlotte in a good mood, Greyson was finally relieved and went back to his company to deal with a backlog of work.
To take care of Charlotte, Elizabeth asked for leave on and off for a month. So today, no matter what Elizabeth said, Charlotte refused to let Elizabeth keep accompanying her.
After breakfast, Charlotte went to the piano practice room. She had to brush up on her rusty skills.
When Charlotte touched the cold piano keys, she soon became immersed.
If it wasn't for the ringing of her phone, Charlotte would've swum in the world of music the whole morning.
Charlotte stopped playing and took her phone. When she noticed the unknown number, she frowned.
She thought it was Lydia again and was surprised by her perseverance.
After answering the call, Charlotte directly snapped, "Lydia, will you cut it out? Or why not ask Marcus to marry you today? Well, if you dare."
"Ms. Bernard, it's me." A deep and charming male voice came through the phone.
Charlotte was shocked. Her hand banged on the piano, startling all the birds outside the window.
This was clearly speaking up for Charlotte. When Charlotte, who was drinking pear soup, heard Marco's words, she thought she misheard and choked. She looked at Marco in disbelief and said, "This doesn't sound like something you would say."Charlotte didn't really argue with her elders. Even if they were wrong, she rarely exposed them on the spot to avoid embarrassing them. But these days, since hanging out with Marco, she feels like all the years of being obedient have been sealed away, as if the rebelliousness that didn't come out during adolescence has found an outlet. She was a rare rebel. She used to hold back from saying this to others, but after meeting Marco, she couldn't help but let it slip out.Marco hummed, "Did I say something wrong?"Charlotte pursed her lips and said, "You're right."Leandro looked at me with a complicated expression and said, "My wife, of course I wouldn't leave her hanging."He expressed his attitude and walked to Charlotte's side.Seeing him approachi
Today Marco had chemotherapy. The process was not pleasant, and he felt very weak afterwards. Because of the discomfort, his temper would often be worse.Marco naturally wanted Leandro to come and care about him, but they were not used to being on the same page. Saying these things out loud would make him lose face, so he wouldn't say it.Marissa just asked, just to let him know.Although Marissa was digging into Marco's past the past two days, today Marco had to undergo chemotherapy, so she naturally didn't want to go against him on these matters and make him feel uncomfortable.Charlotte was going to say "Leandro has already come back," but when she looked at Marco's face, she changed her mind: "He was supposed to arrive at noon, but there was a lunch meeting over there, so he decided to come back after the meeting. By the time he lands, it might be around four in the afternoon."As soon as she finished speaking, Marco snorted, "So young, yet so fond of attending dinner parties."Ch
The next day when Charlotte woke up, Leandro was still in bed, which was rare. She thought he was still asleep, wanted to reach for the phone next to her to check the time, just moved a bit, and her waist was grabbed by a big hand."Were you awake, Mrs. Romero?"Leandro had just woken up not long ago, his voice a bit husky.Charlotte felt her ears itching, "Good morning.""Good morning."Leandro said, raising his hand to turn on the light. The room was lit up, and Charlotte also saw her phone. She picked up the phone beside her and found it was still early, not even seven o'clock. But they went to bed early last night, around nine o'clock.I don't know if the rain stopped yesterday. It was still dark when I woke up at six in the morning. The sun hadn't fully come out yet. The room didn't have the heating on, so it was cold everywhere except under the covers. She put her phone aside, then quickly stuffed her hands back into the covers."The doctor did rounds at 8 o'clock. Should we go
Although those people didn't dare say anything openly, Charlotte knew what they were thinking in their hearts.A wedding definitely didn't prove anything, but it did make some people realize that Leandro wasn't someone she wanted to cling to, or just wanted to disgust Marcus with. She actually liked him too, and wanted to marry him.Her wedding with Leandro was a big deal, if it's postponed now, who knows what the public will say.Charlotte used to not care about what people said, but when she thought about Leandro being set up, she couldn't handle it."I don't want you to always be talked about."Leandro picked her up, along with the blanket, and said, "Who dares to say me?"He helped her push aside the hair falling down by her ears and said, "Who else dares to say that about me except Mrs. Romero?"Charlotte looked at him and said seriously, "Sir Romero."Leandro rarely smiled: "Mrs. Romero was right."He pulled her into his arms, leaned down and kissed her on the face, "Don't worry
Leandro hung up the phone and turned around to find Charlotte already lying in bed.The black eyes flickered, "Tired?"Charlotte looked at him and blinked, "Tired."She yawned as she spoke.Leandro raised his lips and said, "There's something I need to discuss with Mrs. Romero.""Huh?"Charlotte was about to get up from the bed when Leandro raised his hand to stop her, saying, "Don't get up, you might catch a cold."She had to lie back down again, turned on her side, "What's up?""Do you remember our wedding?"He said that, and then Charlotte remembered about it.Last year, Leandro had everything arranged already. He was planning to have the wedding ceremony in April this year, but didn't expect that something like that would happen during the New Year festival. It's already March now, Charlotte has actually recovered quite well. Just now Melvin called and said the wedding dress has been airmailed to Aelburn, it will be delivered to Aelmere in a few days.On the wedding planning side,
Although he knew she was changing the subject, Leandro still listened to her and took out the gifts from the suitcase. In the past, whenever he went on a business trip, he would bring Charlotte her favorite mango candies. Now, he has collected almost all flavors of mango candies. This time, he couldn't find any that Charlotte hadn't tried before. In addition to the mango candies, Leandro also brought back a piece of jewelry as a business trip gift.Charlotte gave him a look and said, "Isn't it just sugar?""Who said that?"He smiled and sat down beside her, holding her, "Do you like it?"Charlotte moved in his arms, adjusted to a more comfortable position, and then opened the jewelry box.The jewelry box opened, and inside were a pair of pearl earrings. The pearls weren't very big, but you could tell they were of good quality.Charlotte rarely wears earrings, but these pearl drops are quite versatile. She can wear them for future performances. She touched her earlobe, put on the earri
