Chapter 516

Author: Millie Bridge
Grace stared at the phone, a faint smile curling on her lips.

From the timing and the information she had gathered through the people she planted around Irvin, she figured that he was probably already sneaking into Timothy's base.

That was why she had deliberately made that call.

Grace wanted Irvin to die in that hellhole for harming her. She also wanted Timothy to suffer a loss. She wouldn't spare anyone who had ever hurt her.

Whether it was Irvin or Timothy, she only wanted to keep her babies. She didn't need a father for them.

Neither of the men had ever treated Grace with respect. In fact, they had humiliated her. Therefore, she was determined to turn them against each other.

After ending the call with Grace, Timothy immediately pulled up the surveillance feed of my room and called Simon at the same time.

Just as the feed appeared on the screen, Simon answered the call. "What's wrong, boss?"

"Go to Emilia's room right now and check if she's there," Timothy ordered.

The next morning, William and I arrived early at the hospital. The Ashfords owned several high-end private hospitals, equipped with the most advanced medical technology. But no matter how impressive the equipment or how reputable the specialists William brought in, the outcome of the consultations remained the same. The first bullet that hit Irvin hadn't damaged any vital organs, but it had ruptured an artery, leading to severe blood loss. The second bullet, however, had struck a critical area. It was already a miracle that he was still alive, let alone that he might ever wake up.The medical team Timothy had abducted had indeed been the best specialists. The emergency care they gave Irvin back then was truly the best he could have received. If a less capable team had treated him, he wouldn't have survived this long, just like the doctors said.In the end, the most reputable professor among the team repeated the same conclusion as the others. We could only pray for a miracle or

It wasn't that William didn't care about Ava. On the contrary, he would make anyone who dared to use her against him regret ever being born.Since he told me not to worry, I decided to stop worrying. I wasn't as capable as him at handling threats, so there was no need for me to worry about him.Just like today, when William was taken away by the police during the business conference, he promised he'd come out unscathed. And he did.Even though we were technically protecting Irvin, as Timothy accused us of hiding a wanted criminal, he still handled it all flawlessly.Thinking of that, I turned to him and asked, "How was it at the police station today?""It was fine. Just routine questioning," he replied calmly. "I've already moved Irvin to a different location. His charges haven't been confirmed yet, so strictly speaking, we're not actually hiding a fugitive."He added, "Besides, Timothy's influence doesn't extend to Redwood. Irvin hasn't committed any crimes here, so the local

Henry really believed what he said. He genuinely thought all of this was unnecessary. In his eyes, now that I was doing well and had completely moved on from Irvin to be with another man, there was no reason for me to keep going after Julianne. He thought that targeting her and making things difficult wouldn't benefit me in any way. So why couldn't I just be more forgiving and let everyone live in peace? From Julianne's perspective, Henry believed I was being petty and that I shouldn't be holding onto the grudge. He completely ignored the fact that I had no reason to forgive her.Julianne had tried to kill me more than once. Of course, going after her would benefit me.Watching her get what she deserved would bring me joy. That would be the biggest benefit to me.But I didn't bother arguing. I knew there was no point wasting time talking to someone so biased."If you want a compatible heart for your precious crush, you better hurry up and treat Ava. If not, she'll die first, and

Henry, who had just been furious and aggressive, noticeably calmed down after hearing what I said. He even had the nerve to bring up something else."And Lianne too. You need to make William promise that once I've cured Ava, he'll let both me and Lianne go. I swear, she'll never show up in front of you again," he said.People would always be greedy, including Henry. Before he came here, his only goal was to risk everything to get a heart transplant for his precious crush. But the moment I agreed to his demands, he got greedy and wanted to save Julianne too.I considered casually agreeing to his demand. After all, no matter what I promised, I had no intention of keeping it, and neither would William. But if I gave in too quickly, he'd definitely get suspicious."You have to treat Ava first before we talk about Julianne," I said.Hearing this, Henry immediately snapped, "Emilia, you're seriously so petty. You really love holding grudges. You're already with William now, so why are

When Ava called me "Aunt Emi", Noah's expression shifted for a moment. He had come to Claudeville after hearing that things weren't going well between Irvin and me. Especially after our divorce, he had often dreamed of being with me and bringing me home to introduce me to his family. Those dreams were just like this, warm and joyful. In them, his bedridden sister was healthy again, and his uncle supported our relationship, blessing us with warmth and love. And now, that dream had come true. But he wasn't in it.He had come to terms with it. He knew love couldn't be forced, and he genuinely wanted the best for William and me. But still, he couldn't stop the ache in his heart. Why couldn't it be him instead? He was so in love with me and wanted it so badly. But that was how life worked. The more one wanted something, the harder it was to get it. And the more unreachable it was, the more one desired it, making it harder to stop caring or let go completely. After dinner, Noah and

Grace was supposed to be smart and a skilled manipulator. Yet, she had actually been duped by a con artist. This truly was the greatest humiliation of her life. She didn't even need to say a word. When Timothy saw how abruptly her expression had turned ugly, he knew she had been conned. Her so-called close friend wasn't the young Ms. Charter at all.He snorted disdainfully at her. "You really are useless. Someone as worthless as you shouldn't be jealous that Emilia Quill keeps getting good men. "Other than being born into a better family, tell me—what do you actually have over her? Be it looks, intelligence, or anything else, you aren't her competition."And you know what they say, birds of a feather flock together. With a heart as nasty as yours, you're lucky to have ended up with someone like me. "Stop dreaming about being with a good man. Before you go around judging others, take a look at yourself in the mirror first. What are you really worth?" Of course, Timothy had been
