"Hey guys!" I called pushing the door to the house open.

I had planned with Beatrix the day before to drop my sister's off at our house instead of going to her home.

I meant to give them a surprise so I didn't tell them I was coming home even when we talked this morning. So they have no clue and today is Saturday so it's really the best.

"Did you hear that?" I heard from upstairs and I grinned.

"Hear what? You keep hearing things."

"I'm not hearing things! You're the one with the bad ears."

"I don't have a bad ear."

"Yeah sure. I'll believe you when it doesn't snow on Christmas."

"You know that's impossible."

"Exactly. "

I shook my head and pushed the door to their room open. Immediately, before I even step in, they shrieked out loud.

"Help!"

"A burglar!"

"I told you I heard something!"

"Well? This is not the time to argue! And defend your point or whatever it is you're doing! We're about to get burgled or worse, kidnapped!"

I rolled my eyes while shaking my head and threw my duffel
