Love at first meet

Chapter 9

Richard stopped what he was doing and started the car. He planned to take the woman to his house but he hesitated. They were about to enter the subdivision but he suddenly changed direction.

They checked in nearby and re -shared the sweetness of love.

Fast forward

Anne and Jenny (sister of Anne’s ex fiancee) are in a restaurant in a mall. As agreed they had lunch together. Because they were both have day off, Jenny’s ask Anne took for a walk. She agreed to the offer.

They chatted while eating. They were in the middle of a meal when Jenny changed the subject.

She opened up about her brother Jefferson.

“My brother Jefferson file a divorce to his wife.” Jenny started.

Anne almost choked. He suddenly drank water. She’s not prepared on Jenny’s confession though it sinks on her mind.

“I know you will be surprised. But that’s the truth. It’s a long story but I’ll still tell you why my older brother and Sandra got divorced. ”

Anne did not say a word. She was just looking at Jenny. Waiting for it to continue the storytelling.

“A man came to my older brother’s house. And the man shouting outside the gate. Looking for his son. Sandra’s son. The baby Sandra was carrying was not my older brother’s blood. It’s from another man. ”

“My older brother and his shipmates were in a resto. Sandra is a friend of an older brother’s colleague. His friend accompanied her at the resto. That’s where my brother and Sandra met. ”

“Because of the drunkenness, neither my older brother can remember what is happening. My older brother just woke up the next day with Sandra in the same room. ”

“Sandra knew she was pregnant then. She was two weeks pregnant that time and nobody knows. Sandra’s parents don’t like her son’s father because he doesn’t have a good job. ”

“Although he is a college graduate but he is very dependent on his parents because he is a spoiled son. Sandra’s parents didn’t know she was pregnant then. ”

“Sandra was afraid that her parents might not accept her situation especially her father has a heart failure. There they met. Sandra intentionally put medicine on my older brother’s drink. ”

“But that is unknown to my brother’s troops. Only Sandra had a plan then. But at that time nothing really happened to him and Sandra. She admitted everything to my brother. ”

“That’s what happened. Sandra herself said that to my brother when he come home. As far as I know after he visited the house he also visited to your parents house. ”

“My older brother is on the ship again now. When he come, he will continue to file for divorce. He will leave work first so that he can take care of it. ”

“Sandra has also left their house. My older brother didn’t let him go because he felt sorry for the child but Sandra insisted on leaving. He is ashamed of his older brother. ”

“She only did that thing because she was afraid of his parents and would be embarrassed. She doesn’t want her son to be a bastard. ”

Anne was stunned as she listened to Jenny’s story.

“I am telling you this because I want you to know the truth as well. I don’t want you to be hatred for my brother. And for both of you to have peace of mind and to move on completely. ”

“Or if you have a chance to get back together again and if you can still accept my older brother in your life. My older brother is at fault but he didn’t mean what happened. ”

“My older brother will go home next to his chin. Hope you have time to talk again and at least closure, Anne. She said and she held her hand. ”

“After all those years, my older brother is not happy. He did marry Sandra but he was never happy with her. He still loves you until now and never forget you. ”

Suddenly her tears flowed. He didn’t know what that was for. She felt pity for the man. It is more difficult to go through.

“Please, talk to him Anne after he gets off the ship and comes home. Give yourself to listen to his explanation. It’s not too late for the two of you. ” Jenny’s statement.

She wiped away her tears. Fortunately, they were in a corner of the restaurant where Jenny was stationed. It wasn’t too noticeable that she was crying.

The two talked for a long time. She calm herself. Her mind was to see and talk to Jefferson again.

She will wait for him to come and talk to him. It’s something that she didn’t give a chance before because she was so hurt.

She was covered in pain and resentment for the man. It was as if her love for him suddenly came to life. If he had listened to Jefferson before, they wouldn’t have reached this point. If only he had fought for their love. There are many ifs and hopes now on Anne’s mind.

She came home sluggish. She also didn’t take dinner with his parents. She goes to her room. They were amazed at what she was doing. Because she was not like that.

Because her lethargy and sadness are obvious in her eyes. Her mother wanted to ask, but she was reluctant.

She placed her cellphone on the table. She remembered Jenny’s story. She felt sorry for Jefferson’s life.

Her tears flowed. Now she knew why she hadn’t forgotten the young man. She didn’t like what happened and was just a victim.

She seemed relieved when she found out the truth from Jenny. She lost her temper with the young man.

But she had already given herself several times to Richard. Will Jefferson accept her in case they have another chance to get back together?

Only now is Anne confused about her situation.

Her cellphone rang. She turned her attention to it. She took it looked at and messages. Lots number of messages. Richard is one of them. There was another miscall from the company.

She first read Richard’s texts message.

“My sweet, hope you have a blessed day. And take care. “

That’s just Richard’s text.

He's really stingy on text. He never called.

She replied to it.

“I miss you.”

But she deleted it. Lucky that guy if I tell him that I miss him. She snob herself.

“Good night.” That’s all she replied to him.

She didn’t want to be visited by drowsiness, she opened his social media account first.

She created a dummy account and stalked Jefferson’s account but it was private. She can’t see his posts. Even Sarah’s account could not be searched.

She also thought of searching Richard’s account but didn’t also appeared.

Why the sting of them on their account. Her complaint.

Then she log out her account and she goes on utube and search song that she and Jefferson favorites. She click the song and listen to it. The title of that song is “Thanks God I found you” by Mariah Carey.

That would have been the song to be played while she walked going to the altar and wearing her beautiful wedding gown while Jefferson waited for her there.

“I won’t give up everything before I separate myself from you.”

The music starts and she closes her eyes while listening to the music. She cried again when it came to the chorus of the song. She couldn’t hold back her tears. She remembered their happy memories of the man.

“Thanks God I found you.

 I’m lost, lost without you.

My every wish and every dream somehow became reality.

When you brought the sunlight

Completed my whole life.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude

Coz baby I’m so glad that I found you. “

She sobbed as the chorus repeated. That’s what Jefferson used to sing when they went for a walk. He always carries a guitar because he sings to him while they are sitting in the park.

He repeated the song until she fell asleep.
