Chapter 93 – Love is a game for fools to play

“…Therefore, the judge’s verdict shall be…”

Warren Mongarde, who was once a mighty powerful man in a suit, looked as if he aged so much after a few weeks in trial. Cuffed and unshaved for days, he looked forlorn and misunderstood, to appeal to the jury.

But it was all for naught when he heard it.

“Guilty.”

And the judge slammed his gavel decisively.

Guilty. Such a small word for such a big thing.

He knew his life would change drastically from here on out. It was inevitable. But for his age, he’d say he’s achieved enough. He’s already been the President of the US; is there anything more he can achieve to top that?

So he laughed. He laughed loudly, his voice resonating in the court. All eyes were on him, but he continued to laugh. Their once dignified President now looked like a crazed serial killer who had just been sentenced to a life sentence.
