“What the hell?!” Brielle’s voice rang out as she yanked her arm away and spun around sharply. Her heart hammered in her chest, her eyes narrowed, ready to push the life out of whoever thought it was a good idea to drag her into a dark storage room unannounced.

But instead of the confrontation she expected, her gaze fell on a petite brunette, barely taller than her shoulder.

She blinked. “Bella?”

She was a newly hired nurse who resumed work a day before her and also shared the same office with her and the others. She had never spoken to her so, she found this situation strange.

Bella raised both hands in surrender, already looking apologetic. “I’m sorry! I’m really sorry, Dr. Brielle. I just—I knew I wouldn’t get another chance to speak to you alone.”

Brielle frowned, still trying to get her breathing back to normal. “Why would you even need to? What is this about?”
