Overthinking

THE NEXT DAY, Andrius decided to get back to Vegas. He just wanted to prevent any scandal again and he could also feel how awkward the atmosphere inside their house was. He cared so much for Samantha’s mental health. And he knew that staying longer with his family can make the woman overthink.

“Are you sure about this?” Samantha asked when they were climbing downstairs.

He nodded, “it’s for the better,” he replied.

She stopped, “but they miss you too, and I don’t want them to think that I’m a sort of a bitch controlling you.”

“How many times do we have to talk about this, babe?”

She looked down, “I’m sorry.”

He approached her and lifted her head, “look at me,” he started, and she then met his eyes, “you have to rehearse for the event in Atticus, right? Besides, mom’s birthday was done, and I have nothing to do in here—”

“You have to manage your restaurant, isn’t it, Andrius?” his mother said as the old woman climbed down too and stopped in front of them.

“Mom, Samantha has lots of work to do, and something urgent came,” Andrius said, but Samantha knows that he lied.

They planned to stay for three days. Unfortunately, they disrespected her and seems like they’re just being constrained to face her, on behalf of Andrius, their son.

“And you’re being unfair to her. She’s my girlfriend but you seem not to respect her because of her former job. You’re judging her. And you know mom that I hate judgments. We all have flaws. We’re not perfect. You used to work in a club too—”

He didn’t finish his words when his mother slapped him which makes Samantha gasp.

“How dare you disrespect me?! Is that what your whore taught you?”

Samantha clenched her fist and walk closer to the old woman and slapped her too.

“How dare you?!” the old woman screamed.

“That’s for insulting me,” she said, courageously. She regretted what she did, but she can’t undo it.

Andrius went in the middle and slightly pushed her backward.

“Enough for this, mom. You already crossed the line!” he said with a voice like a foghorn.

The old woman started to cry.

“What the hell did you do to mom, Andy?” Dylan, who came out from the kitchen, asked as he rushed towards his mother to console her.

The old woman started to cry much louder which makes Samantha grimace.

“Let’s go,” said Andrius as he grabbed her hand and went down.

“Andrius!” Dylan shouted which makes them stop and looked at the man.

“Remember this day, fucker. You won’t dare to step inside this abode again!” he said.

Andrius threw a middle finger, “try me, asshole!” he said and turned around.

“Who the fuck is to tell me what to do? I bought this place,” Andrius mumbled, but it didn’t escape Samantha’s ear.

When they’re inside the car, Andrius tried to calm himself before starting the engine.

Samantha bit her lower lip and doesn’t know how to start a conversation. “A…”

He looked at her, waiting for what she was about to say.

“I-I’m sorry.”

“For what?”

“For what I did to your mom. I swear, I didn’t mean to—”

Andrius grasped her hand, “it’s all right, she needs it to get back to her senses. She will realize it soon. Sometimes, words are not just enough to relay what you wanted to say. It takes action too. And it’s not a hard slap though,” he said and let out a soft chuckle.

She winced, “but still, it’s not right. I should have suppressed my anger,” she said. She felt guilty because of what she did. “And she’s your mother, I must respect her and she’s right about—”

“No. Even if she’s my mother, I won’t tolerate that kind of attitude. Now, she may be known how stupid she was in judging you—”

“But you can’t blame her, she just wanted the best for you, and it seems like she sees that I’m no good for you,” she said.

“I love you. and let’s stop arguing about it,” he said and maneuver the car away from their house.

She sighed and shook her head. She may be acted tough earlier, but she knew she was still weak on the inside. She unconsciously did it, it’s her reflexes—it’s her defense mechanism from being humiliated. And it’s always in the end when we regret things.

A FEW DAYS passes by, and Samantha was busy in her rehearsal together with the other performers of Silver Dust. She also moved in on her father’s mansion the other day with the help of Andrius. She sighed when she remembers the incident between her and Andrius's mother.

She even told to Helen what she did, and she gained curses from her. she also called Ritch, her friend in the Philippines about it, and they have the same reaction as Helen. How she wishes she could turn back time.

How stupid she was, that’s what her friend told her. It’s her boyfriend's mother and sooner if they plan to get married, she will be her mother-in-law. But how can she face the old woman if she did something terrible to her?

Though many things can still happen between her and Andrius. And she wasn’t sure if the man will never find another woman or fall in love with another woman—or what if she was the one who will fall out of love.

She shook her head as she pulled the rope. She’s been practicing graceful turns and tumbling for her stunts in the upcoming event.

No. It’s always been Andrius whom she loves… for the rest of her life.

No matter what difficulties they may be facing in the future, she will make sure that she will never fall out of love. She will do her best to work things out with their relationship. She will learn how to manage everything about them—but damn, she really had a bad temper. And she hopes, Andrius will not be turned off by it. Because even, he had temper issues.

She smiled when she remembers the scenario inside the hotel in L.A. When they started to make out and were about to fall for a more intimate session, yet it was interrupted by someone else.

Oh, how she loves and is willing to go further with Andrius, but every time they’re about to make it, they’ve been interrupted—and Andrius will just go to the bathroom, and have a cold shower to calm his buddy.

They almost did it once—sort of because he thrust it already but stop when he realized that she was a virgin.

Andrius is a gentleman. He respected her. He always believes in her. That’s why she’s so lucky. And when they will have the chance to be together in a room and will share things an adult like them would do, she will not hesitate to let him.

She will entrust everything to him.

ANDRIUS has been busy all day at the Silver Dust Studio. He didn’t sign any contract with Mr. Johansson, since he’s planning to build his own studio, but the old man still insists that the Silver Dust Studio welcomes him all the time.

Mr. Johansson gave him another task to work out—he will be Samantha’s photographer for the upcoming event in Atticus. And along with another task too, like he’s not yet done with Samantha’s portfolio, since he escaped away that time.

He even stays in Johansson's mansion, which kind of special treatment for him. The father of his girlfriend really likes him. Which he was grateful for.

About his restaurant, Chuck took charge. This is kind of new to him since his friend is not business-minded rather, he’s into women's philosophy. Well, Athena, his older sister helped him too in managing his small business.

His sister also knew what Samantha did but Athena understands Sam, which gave him relief. At least, there’s another person who could understand Samantha. But according to his sister, when their father found out about it, the old man is still angry with him and Samantha. But Athena assured me that it will pass by. Maybe they just need time to accept his decision. Besides, they were wrong about his girlfriend.

And one more thing, Maddison or Maddy, his childhood friend, go often to their house, asking about his whereabouts.

But Athena did tell her that, he’s in L.A., which is a wrong move.

Knowing how Maddy goes crazy over him, it might happen that the woman will follow him and will creep him out.

He managed to drive her away when he got to engage with Beatrice, but now that she seems to feel that his parents don’t like Sam, she might do anything to have him.

He heaved a deep sigh and shook his head. He may be overthinking again.
