4. Feeling under the weather

Jenar was invited to Julian's office because of her proposal.

"Do you have any ideas for your proposal?" He inquired. Julian focused on Jenar. "The concept needs to be refined."

Jenar kept quiet. Jenar lowered her head to avoid Julian's eyes.

Jenar's awkwardness with Julian was due to her mistakes in Los Angeles. Julian understood. Another reason was the arrival of his ex-wife, Luce.

Jenar had avoided him for a week. Jenar disregarded Julian's voicemails and texts.

"Otherwise, I will return your proposal." Julian pushed the stack of documents to Jenar. "Come back when you've finished your proposal." He spoke up again. He said, "There, I have provided some crucial remarks to assist."

Jenar nodded. "Yes, sure." Her voice is husky. "Thank you, Sir."

"If you're serious about seeing your innovative concept implemented, send me a proposal again. You'll receive a bonus and a promotion if you complete the qualifications."

"Yes, Sir." He bowed. "I'll go when I'm done."

He backed away from Julian.

"Jenar!" Suddenly, Julian called her. Julian's voice was husky and cold, contrasting Jenar's memories of that Los Angeles night.

"I'm not pressuring you, so relax. The innovation and development team has a project, correct? If you have time, you may continue with the proposal after concentrating on the project." Julian responded to Jenar with a smile.

Jenar smiled at Julian. "Then I'll leave. Thank you so much for your review, Mr. Julian."

He nodded and let Jenar leave.

"Jenar?"

Unfortunately, she was arrested again. That's not Julian, but Luce Wileen. Who would have guessed that she overheard a discussion between Jenar and her ex-husband?

"Y-yes, Mrs. Luce?" she queried. Jenar looked at Luce.

Luce Wileen is a career woman who deserves to be praised and proud of by anyone. Surprisingly Julian even divorced him. But if you're looking for perfection—physical or not—then Mrs. Luce Wileen is the answer.

She smiled and asked, "That's your name, isn't it?"

"That's right, Mrs. Luce," Jenar answered.

"I read a crucial chapter." Luce started her sentence. "It's about your proposal."

Jenar sighed. It turned out that was what she wanted to talk about, not her Los Angeles scandal with Julian.

"I like your idea, and I think Julian does too," She smiled at Julian. Julian just nodded.

"I know him well, so I know what correction might be in his head at this point."

Even though they are divorced, they are showing love and solidarity to Jenar—Jenar thought.

Jenar didn't give a damn about the two of them, but after Julian stole her virginity, she began to care for them for excellent reasons.

"Perhaps it can be added a little in some areas of product innovation. Please provide more impressions and the main reasons we should accept your proposal." She suggested. On Jenar, Luce's correction

Jenar nodded. " "Thank you, Mrs. Luce."

"Oh, one more!" Again, she interrupts Jenar. "Give your product a unique name. Consumer ratings are the best and most essential."

Jenar continued to listen to her. In this, Luce is a professional.

Face-to-face had convinced Jenar that Luce Wileen was a good woman, although her face was frightening due to her use of red lipstick and thick makeup.

"When you understand, you can go. You can call me if you have any questions. We may meet outside the office, and I'll guide you."

The girl glanced at Julian a glance before ignoring him once more. "Thank you very much, Madam."

"I also heard that this is your first job and that this is your first proposal to your supervisor.  So it's only natural that there are still many errors in it. I'd be glad—"

"Let him go. Jenar is busy right now." Julian interrupted Luce.

Jenar thought, "I'm grateful." She was likewise eager to leave.

"Is that right?" To Jenar, Luce turned. "Then you may leave."

Jenar glowed once more. Bowed and thanked, then exited the room.

"Why bother?" Julian began shooting after Jenar exited. "You promised to leave once your work here is done. That was an hour ago."

Lucy smiled. " Do I have to pay rent to sit here for more than an hour? " She laughed cheerfully.

"Besides, it wouldn't hurt if I visited the businesses we co-founded. Some of them are mine." She examines.

"Luce!" Julian felt annoyed. "It's almost time for lunch, so go before the hallways are crowded with workers heading to the cafeteria to take their break."

Lucy shrugged. "So what if the hallway is crowded?" She inquired. A naive expression, "I'll say hello when they do. I am, after all, their boss."

"We've divorced!"

"At least, if you want to come, tell me first, don't make me look like an idiot who can't answer questions from my employees when they say you came seeking me."

Lucy frowned. "Why are you so sensitive? I am aware that coming was foolish. I apologized already." Luce did not enter a guilty plea.

"Leave right away. Please, Luce. I'm not comfortable with you." In his place, Julian moaned. "A year ago, we had a nasty divorce."

"I tried to repair our relationship because of that." She responded. "After the divorce, I never saw my children," she lamented. "So I decided to see them."

Julian snorted with annoyance. He rubbed his face in frustration.

She closed the laptop, "Is it improper if I come to see my children and ex-husband?"

"Am I the villain in our divorce?" Luce was angry.

"I don't want to debate with you right now, Luce."  Julian sighed hesitantly. "It's all over, and we've decided."

Julian focused his eyes on Luce. "We vow that our divorce will not influence or change anything except how we relate."

Luce chuckled and folded her arms. She told Julian, "You divorced me.  You claimed that I wasn't an ideal mother and wife."

"We agreed to divorce!" Julian insisted. "Do we continue to bicker as we are?" he asked, shrugging. "What else is there to keep such a weird relationship going?"

Luce was defeated when it came to the past.

"Luce, to be honest ... I already love someone else." Julian abruptly admitted. Lucy was surprised. "I'm going to introduce her to my kids soon."

"Julian?" Luce gave him a severe look. "You lied just to get rid of me, right?"

Julian shook his head. "I'll introduce her to you as well, Luce. Just wait."
