David stepped out of his car, closed the door gently, and walked across the stone path that led to the back of Grandpa’s house.

There, sitting in his usual wooden chair just outside the patio, was Grandpa, eyes fixed on the shimmering surface of the lake. He didn’t say a word. He just watched—calm, still.

David walked up slowly and sat in the chair next to him. He didn’t speak right away either. They sat in silence for a while, only the soft chirping of birds filling the air between them.

Then he turned slightly and asked quietly, “How are you doing, Grandpa?”

Grandpa didn’t look at him. “I’m fine,” he replied in a low voice.

David gave a slight nod but didn’t buy it. “Your butler says you’ve been moody lately. Says you’ve been keeping to yourself more than usual.”

At that, Grandpa finally reacted. He let out a dry sigh and muttered, “That man’s becoming far too nosy for my liking.”

David let out a small chuckle. “You don’t pay him to ignore you.”

Grandpa didn’t reply. He fell back in

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Cody and Brady

Emma held the steering wheel tightly, her eyes staring at her father's house but her thoughts spinning in circles. As she sat in the driver's seat with Claire buckled up in the backseat, the car still idle, she couldn’t help but feel lost. She hadn’t expected this outcome at all.A deep sigh left her lips. She glanced at Claire through the rearview mirror. The little girl was busy humming to herself, kicking her feet softly. Claire didn’t understand what had just happened inside that house, and Emma wanted to keep it that way. Now, the big question remained. Where to go next?Emma bit her bottom lip, fingers tightening even more on the wheel. There had to be someone. Someone she could trust, someone who would look out for Claire like their own. Someone who wouldn’t turn her away. Then it came to her. A face. A voice. A warm smile.Yes.Her mind settled on one person. She hesitated for a moment. It wasn’t her first choice. Not because of mistrust, but because she didn’t want to inconve

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   A Door Slammed Twice

Being shocked was an understatement.Emma stood there, frozen in her father’s study, staring at the man who had just told her no. Her fingers clenched the handle of Claire's suitcase so tightly her knuckles had turned white. Disbelief, betrayal, and fury boiled in her veins."You're really saying no?" Her voice came out choked, almost too soft to hear. She took a step forward, eyes wide with disbelief. "You’re really turning your back on us? On your own granddaughter? After everything I just told you? Someone tried to kill me! Someone broke into my house! And you're telling me—after all that—you won’t let her stay here?!"Mathew didn’t respond. He didn’t even look at her. His silence was louder than any words he could have said. He stood there, arms crossed, staring past her like she wasn't even there.Emma's hands balled into fists at her sides. "Are you not worried about Claire's safety at all? Did you not hear what I just said? Someone tried to kill me! I can't keep her in a hotel,

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   No Safe Haven

Emma hadn’t slept a wink.Claire curled up next to her, sleeping peacefully under the white covers of the hotel bed. But she lay wide-eyed, staring at the dark ceiling. The police had finally taken her seriously. After the car had been towed and reports filed, their tone changed. Her earlier complaints, the missing security footage, and now a confirmed brake failure—it was enough to raise their eyebrows. But Emma didn’t feel any safer. Not even close. That night, she booked a hotel room and brought Claire with her. She didn’t care about the new locks, the motion sensors, or the door wedge alarms back home. If someone had managed to sabotage her car without leaving a trace, then she couldn't risk staying in that house—not with Claire.Claire had asked questions, of course, but Emma had brushed it off, saying they were just going on a mini vacation.Later that night, after Claire had gone to bed, Emma finally tried calling Sophie. She needed someone to talk to, someone who could help he

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Silent Alarms

Emma stepped out of the police station with a heavy heart and a deep frown on her face. Her hands were cold, and her fingers curled tighter around the small folder of evidence she had brought along. She had expected the police to at least take her seriously—maybe not launch a full investigation right away, but at least listen. Believe her. Instead, she had left feeling worse than when she walked in.She opened her car door and sank into the driver’s seat, staring blankly ahead for a moment.“How could they not believe me?” she whispered under her breath. They had looked at her like she was being overly dramatic. One officer even chuckled as he leaned back in his chair, saying something along the lines of,“So, you watched some paranoid video online, planted a piece of thread, and now you’re convinced someone’s sneaking into your house?”Emma had tried to explain everything—the missing thread, the files moved slightly out of place, the home office door she never left open—but it hadn’t

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Creepy Feelings

Sophie bent forward, hands on her knees, panting heavily. But her face wasn’t tired—it was lit up with joy. The wind tugged at her loose strands of hair, and her cheeks glowed from the hike. Her chest rose and fell with deep breaths, but the wide smile on her lips made it clear: this had been one of the best things she’d done in a long time. She looked over her shoulder at Gavin, her eyes dancing with excitement. “So? How was it? Be honest!” she asked, almost bouncing where she stood.Gavin grinned and stepped forward. He cupped her face and kissed her softly. “Honestly? This has been really nice. I’m glad we came out here. Just the two of us.”Sophie’s smile widened, her heart fluttering at his words. She touched his chest gently and said, “I have to take a picture. Emma’s not going to believe I actually convinced you to hike with me.”As she pulled out her phone and tapped the camera app, Gavin’s smile slowly disappeared. His lips curled into a scowl, and he let out a silent groan.
