Rowan's POV

" Good morning Mr Sinclair" Philip, my butler and trusted friend greeted me as I walked down the stairs.

I responded with a slight nod as I approached the dinning room for breakfast. The past few days had been very overwhelming for me with work and yesterday was no exception, the least that could happen to me was to be presented with a good meal.

I got to the dinning table only to find no one there.

" Where's Celine?" I asked Philip who was following me from behind

" She's not here sir" He replied me

I looked at him with a puzzled expression on my face and then asked sharply " what do you mean she's not here?"

I saw how uncomfortable he was as he responded to my questions " She left the house very early this morning" he replied me

As soon as his words registered into my brain, I let out a laugh of disbelief.

Really? Is this about yesterday? What sort of game is she trying to play now?

A thousand and one questions ran through my mind as I thought about it. I had gotten home very late last night only for her to announce that she wanted a divorce. I was taken by surprise but was careful enough not to let it show. I have never shown her any form of emotions and I wasn't about to start that.

I knew deep down that she was just trying to seek sympathy and attention. I shouldn't be the one she should be resenting, I mean I was also a victim. It is not my fault that her family made her walk down the aisle in place of her step sister.

I tried to sit at the table for breakfast but it didn't feel right. For the past 2 years I had always had breakfast with Celine at the table even though we never said a word to eachother.

" Did she mention where she was headed?" I asked Philip

" Not at all .......she didn't even go with her car " Philip explained

I frowned at the information.

Where on earth could she have gone to? Her parents house? She should know better than to go there, they wouldn't even think twice about sending her back!

" Call her parents and find out if she's there. Let me know as soon as you find her" I blurted out to him as I retreated backwards. " I am going to skip breakfast today "

With that I walked out of the house.

I had more important things to worry about. Just then, my phone buzzed. It was another message from my grandfather's assistant. A reminder of the board meeting in few days. It was another push to prove myself.

My position as the company's CEO was hanging by a thread thanks to my grandfather's obsession with legacy and my cousin, Jothan Sinclair who had charm, a perfect bloodline and apparently, my grandfather's approval.

I clenched my jaw as I got into the car waiting for me.

Illegitimate. That word followed me like a brand. It was a reminder of what I was born from and what I had to fight twice as hard to protect.

It was bad enough that they made me set a wedding date despite the accident that landed me in a wheelchair two years ago, now they were threatening to remove me from the position if I didn't secure a deal worth hundreds of billions.

Grandpa Ben's voice rang in my head as my driver drove me to the office. " This is your chance to prove your worth Rowan, secure this deal then the position is yours to keep"

A smirk appeared at the corner of my lips. Both he and Jothan seemed to have forgotten who they were dealing with. I am Rowan Sinclair and I never back out without a fight. I was ready to go through any length to secure the deal, which is why I was back in contact with Emilia.

Emilia Dunphy. My ex fiancée. The same Emilia that vanished the morning we were supposed to get married.

My thoughts were interrupted by my driver. " We're here now sir"

I watched as he opened the door for me. Waiting at the entrance of the Sinclair building was my assistant, Matt. " Good morning Mr Sinclair" he greeted

I replied him with a slight nod as I walked into the building with everyone saying their hello's and clearing the way for me to pass through.

" The representatives from Hong Kong are already waiting for you" Matt started as he followed behind me

" I thought the meeting was supposed to be for 10am?" I glanced at my wristwatch as I spoke

" Apparently they moved it to 9am" Matt replied

"That's fine....where are they?" I asked as I stepped into the private elevator

" I already had them settled in the conference room" he replied.

By the time we got to the 39th floor, the doors to the elevator opened as I walked straight into the Conference room.

" Good morning everyone......I had no Idea that the time of our meeting was moved to 9" I announced as soon as I stepped in.

" We apologize for that.......an emergency came up and we have to be out of the United States as soon as possible. " One of the representatives said as he rose to his feet. " Sam Choo, we spoke on the phone already " he introduced as he stretched his hand for a shake

" Rowan Sinclair, good to finally meet you" I placed my hand in his firmly

" This is my associate, Li Fong " Sam Choo gestures to the other man at the table.

" Pleasure to meet you" I said as I shook Li Fong's hand

" Glad to be here " Li fong replies as I then took my seat opposite them.

" And ofcourse...Ms Dunphy" Sam Choo said as he gestures to Emilia

" No need for an introduction for me, we go way back" Emilia said to him as she locked eyes with me.

I had no idea that she was going to join the meeting but I couldn't complain. She is the sole reason why this meeting is even happening in the first place. She had helped me secure an audience with them despite my numerous trials, that is why she is now a valuable asset to the company.

" We have gone through the proposal that you sent and I think it is something that we would like to venture into" Sam Choo started.

I let out a small sigh of relief as the words left his mouth. This was going way easier than I thought it would.

" ...but only on one condition" he continued

Okay I knew this was too good to be true. " What is this condition?" I asked out loud

" The first half of the project would be carried out in HongKong...... in as much as we have faith in this project, we also want to be rest assured that it is in good hands " He explained

I remained silent for a few seconds as I processed his words.

" But it is going to take months to reach the half of the project" I argued

" We understand, that is why we want it done in HongKong " he explained and then asked. " Is this going to be a problem?"

" Ofcourse not....... it's a done deal" I blurted out without giving it much thought anymore. If spending a few months in HongKong the sacrifice I've got to make for this project, then so be it. " I will have my lawyers draft out the contract so we can sign" I added

" That is perfect then....we look forward to doing business with you Mr Sinclair " Sam Choo stated out loud.

" You should buy me dinner after this you know " Emilia said to me as soon as we saw the representatives off

" Ofcourse, I'd ask my assistant to reserve the finest restaurant for you" I replied without sparing her a single glance.

" Oh Rowan don't be silly, you don't expect me to eat alone now do you?" She leaned onto my arm as she spoke.

" You heard the men Emilia. I don't have time to spare, I need to start preparing for HongKong " I replied her as I released myself from her grip.

" Really?.....is this the thank you I get for going out of my way for you?" She pouted her lips as she spoke.

" Fine...... just one meal " I replied hesitantly

As soon as I stepped into the 39th floor, Matt approached me. " A package arrived for you sir" he started

" I don't have time for any packages Matt, I have a business trip to plan for " I blurted out firmly as I walked into my office

" I understand sir, but I still think that you should see it" He urged

Without wasting anymore time, I picked up the envelope placed on my desk and then glanced through the document.

My eyes immediately widened as I spotted the words divorce. Is this some sort of joke? I was immediately filled with rage especially when my eyes landed on Celine's signature.

How dare she send me divorce papers? What gave her the nerve to do such a thing?

I immediately dailed Celine's phone number but was immediately sent to voicemail. I dailed it again but got the same respone. I was getting impatient at this point so I dailed Philip's phone instead. He answered on the first ring.

" Tell me you've found her" I stated

" Not yet sir.....I called her parents house but they haven't seen her either" he replied

" Where the hell is she then?" I asked with anger starting to build up in me. " I am leaving for HongKong, make sure you have her waiting for me by the time I return." I blurted out to him.

Only I had the right to end this marriage. With that being established, I picked up the divorce papers and placed them into the shredder in my office.

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    The Bride I Refused To Love

Rowan's POV " Good morning Mr Sinclair" One of the company staffs greeted me as I walked out of the elevator towards the exit of the building with Matt, my assistant following behind." Good morning Mr Sinclair" Another greeted again. All I did was respond with a slight nod." Is the car ready?" I asked Matt " Yes sir...I informed the driver already" He replied and as if on cue, the car was parked in front of the building." What time are they expecting us?" I asked Matt after getting into the backseat while he sat in front with my driver." In 2 hours sir" he replied as he scrolled through his iPad.Good. I mentally noted as I glanced out of the window. We were 20 minutes into the road when Matt faced me. " Sir, you might want to see this" he said as he handed me the iPad.Without thinking much about it, I collected it and then read through. The name at the top right of the report hit me first.... EldreenaDesigns. And then it began to sink in.Celine, My wife. An entrepreneur." Wh

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    A Place Never like Home

Celine's POV The moment I recognized Eleanor's voice, .....I froze." Hello Celine" she said sweetly over the phone, as if we were long lost friends that were reconnecting.A million and one questions began to run through my mind all at once. How is this possible? How did she get this number? Who gave it to her? Or wait Had she being the one behind the SUV thing? Was she the reason why Alex and his sponsor were trying to protect me? Was she the one they were trying to protect me from? But this doesn't makes sense. I knew that Eleanor cared for nothing but herself and her daughter, but she wouldn't go to the length of being lethal....or would she?" You do know that it would have been decent to check in on us, your family every once in awhile instead of disappearing like you did" She started. I could hear the tone in her voice, it was combined with both sarcasm and disappointment. " Where are your human feelings? " She continued and then added. " How could you disappear like we

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    Catch Me If You Can

Celine's POV As we pulled up to the old three story hotel, a slight wave of anxiety gripped me. I was with Maryjane and two other members of the team for this project. I had spoken with Matteo 2 days ago and he had agreed for us to come inspect the place before finalizing the contract. It was all about evaluating the space we were expected to renovate and transform in six months." Are you sure this is the place?" Maryjane asked as she scanned the entire building from head to toe." I'm pretty sure it is.......see it has the name Kings Hotel written boldly on it." I replied her as I gestured to the bold sign above us." Perhaps there is another Kings Hotel " she continued as she gripped the stirring will tightly." This is the place Maryjane" I replied her as calmly as possible. I knew that she had been skeptical about Matteo ever since she met him but I wasn't going to allow that single meeting with him determine how we would run the project. So without wasting anymore time, I opene

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    No Place To Hide

Rowan's POV I arrived back home feeling all drained and exhausted. The ride all the way from the Dunphy's house had turned out to be longer than usual....I think it's probably because of the mental struggle I was currently experiencing.I remained in the car as I leaned into the leather seat and then stared out of the tinted window even though my focus was on nothing in particular. I picked up my phone to check for any calls or text from the private investigator but still, there was nothing. For how is he going to make me wait for?The is getting frustrating for the love of God!I meant every word that I said to Tobias and his wife, If Celine isn't found as soon as possible, I wouldn't hesitate to burn them to the ground..... their reputation, legacy, all of it.I hadn't cared about their family ever since Emilia walked out on our engagement without a single word and I wasn't going to especially now that I am beginning to realize how they had treated Celine. She had been the bandag

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    The Stalker

Celine's POV I stared out of the window silently as Maryjane drove me home. My hands clenched in my lap as I replayed the sound over and over again. The sound of the camera.... click. The snap of the camera shutter. Even though I wanted to stay positive, but deep down I knew that I hadn't imagined it. I couldn't have, just as the same way that I couldn't have mistaken Rowan for the man I saw at the restaurant. And even if Maryjane didn't witness it, the black SUV parked in the far corner of the restaurant wasn't a coincidence.....or was it? I am certain that someone was watching me. I could feel it.But then who could it be? And why would anyone be watching me? I didn't have any enemies, infant the only person that might have something to do with me is Rowan but I highly doubt that he is behind this. There was absolutely no reason for him to watch me this way, if he wants to see me he would have found me already, I mean he isn't Rowan Sinclair just for nothing.Unfortunately Rowa

  • Loving The Wrong Bride    Behind The Scenes

Emilia's POV As soon as Rowan walked out of the house, silence immediately filled the entire living room. Celine filed for a divorce? I didn't expect that at all. I had sent her that video to scare her but I definitely wasn't expecting her to back off that easily. And now, she had left, leaving the space that I had yearned for the past 2 years empty. Can this get any better?I tried to hide the smirk that was beginning to form at the corners of my lips as I watched my parents rant to eachother." You see what you've done? " My Mother snapped as she began to pace the room. " This is all your fault Tobias, you are the one who kept spoiling and indulging that girl!" She said out loud I watched as my father tossed his phone onto the couch as he muttered under his breath. " I don't have time for this, .....I have an entire city to run. " He blurted out and then added. " Celine can't just disappear and embarrass us like this... that girl is going to ruin everything that I've built""She
