“Why was he with you ?" I asked again as I got into the ward. I've known her long enough to know when she's hiding something.

“I told you already, he was asking for directions." She snapped at me. I didn't like the fact that she was avoiding my gaze.

I didn't push further and let it slide. I'll figure it out myself later. Rowan was fixed on a drip, his face was pale. I placed my hands over his face, caressing it. He's just three months old, and he's been sick four times in a row.

I don't want to nag her so I kept quiet about the fact that she leaves the windows open in his room and sometimes forgets his appointments and medications.

“ What happened?" I inquired as we both sat down on the stool, waiting for the nurse.

She sighed, she looked visibly exhausted with eye bags under her eyes.“ He has a cold, slight fever and diaper rash.”

“ Diaper rash? Why the fuck will he have diaper rash? Did you use a different brand of diaper on him again?" I creased my brows.
