Evander stepped out of the shower. He had never felt comfortable with Clara’s parents, not because they were the overly strict or the snobby type. It was more related to the fact that he felt like he was veering too close to danger anytime he spent time with her parents. They were warming up to him. He did not want that, he did not deserve that.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his phone ring. He wrapped a towel around his slender waist, walked to the bedroom and picked up the phone from the night stand. The call ended as he was about to answer the phone. He was about to call the unsaved number back when the phone beeped, a text coming in.

It is done, it read.
